Pet Care

Dr. Robb's Protect The Pets
98 S Main St, NewtownAfter years of feeling constrained and discouraged by veterinary experiences that often left me questioning whether my pets’ best interests were truly the priority, finding Dr. Robb has been life-changing.
I first heard about Dr. Robb because of the extraordinary advocacy he has done for animals, advocacy unlike anything I have ever seen or heard from any other veterinarian. That alone spoke volumes about his character and dedication, but meeting him in person confirmed everything I had hoped for.
From the moment I met Dr. Robb, he was a breath of fresh air. He provides compassionate, thoughtful, and genuinely accessible care. Most importantly, he respects both the animals and their owners, never forcing unnecessary treatments or making me feel pressured into decisions. Instead, he listens, guides, and empowers you to make the best choices for your pets.
His staff reflects that same level of excellence. The front desk team is consistently kind, attentive, and welcoming. In a world where it’s become normal to sit on hold for 30 minutes just to speak with someone, I was amazed that I could simply call and reach a real person who was eager to help.
I live over an hour away, and distance means absolutely nothing when it comes to the quality of care my animals receive here. I would gladly drive five hours if it meant my pets could continue seeing Dr. Robb.
Thank you, Dr. Robb, and thank you to your incredible team. From the bottom of my heart, I am deeply grateful for the care, compassion, and integrity you bring to both animals and the people who love them.

Berkshire Veterinary Hospital
1 Toddy Hill Rd, Sandy HookMy senior dog has been a patient of Dr. Guzy’s for eleven years, and my other dog has been going for the past three. Every experience has been a pleasant one, even for the not so pleasant reasonings. I leave every appointment being informed of the visit and what to expect going forward. When I call to make an unexpected appointment, they always seem to make the time to fit them in. However, when they feel I can save myself the vet visit and the additional to me fees, they let me know that as well. I feel they’re very fairly priced for the services they provide. And I truly appreciate the relationship that’s developed over the past decade between my dogs and Dr. Guzy and his staff.

52 Church Hill Rd, NewtownDr Merrick provided exceptional care for my dog who was diagnosed with lymphoma. I can’t thank the team enough for their care, expertise, and allowing me to ask endless questions along the way. Our dog, Brewski always left the office happy and rarely had anxiety for his lengthy treatments he went through which provided him an excellent quality of life. He has since passed away as of yesterday but my journey along the way was very hopeful and positive. Thank you Dr Merrick ???

Pet Sitting & Training

Exceptional Pet Dog Training Center
3 Simm Ln, NewtownGerman Shepherds have a naturally protective nature — it’s part of their DNA. Our Misha, a white German Shepherd, was no exception, and it was very important for us to help him develop positive social skills and friendliness toward people and different environments. Since he was 2.5 months old, we enrolled him in Exception Pets’ Socialization Class, where he interacted with other dogs and their owners.
The classes are professionally organized and supervised, and they made a huge impact on his growth and confidence. Donna and Sandy, his instructors, provide great insights into dog behavior and help both pets and owners understand each other better. Thanks to their guidance, Misha is growing up to be a very well-socialized and happy dog. You won’t regret enrolling your pet with this wonderful team of professionals!

Always Safe At Home
10 Main St, NewtownAlways Safe at Home is such a wonderful service, and Emily, the owner is just great. The sitters are so friendly and caring. Not only that, but they always have coverage available. If my usual sitter is unavailable for any reason, there is another sitter, whom I've already met, ready to step in. This was an issue with my last pet-sitting service but never with Always Safe at Home. I love them and trust them with my sweet boy!

Bark Fit LLC
1 Johnnie Cake Ln, NewtownGraham is an amazing trainer. I have worked with him in training two Shepherds over the years. Graham develops gentle and patient individual training methodologies customized to the client. Each of my Shepherds had very different training needs. The first was a difficult rescue that needed significant socialization and the second a talented kennel dog with little obedience training. Not only were the training programs very successful, but also each dog were excited to see Graham each week. I totally recommend Graham for all levels of training!

Newtown Park & Bark
21 Old Farm Rd, NewtownPermit required so it's not a good fit if you're passing through, as we were. That said, it looks very well maintained and clean. The adjacent wildlife refuge DOES allow leashed dogs and has lovely walking trails. You can reach it by continuing past the dog park on a narrow blacktop road to a small gravel parking area.
