“I’ve been a customer of Tim and his team at The Nutty Company for over 40 years—first in Derby and now in Milford. This place is truly a hidden gem for both common and hard-to-find, high-quality nuts and bolts.
The prices are ridiculously low for the level of service you get. You can walk in with almost any size nut or bolt, put it on the counter, and they’ll almost always have the exact replacement—often in multiple grades. This is nothing like the ungraded, imported fasteners you find at the big box stores.
If your job requires a specific fastener or spec, Tim and his team will source it for you. Highly recommended.”

My mom and I always feel welcome when we go in. Everyone there is so friendly and accommodating. This store is such a gem in Branford. One of my faves!”

“As always a great experience at Napa. There is a running joke in my family about ending up at Napa on every road trip, it comes true quite often. Our alternator stopped functioning while on a road trip with my wife and young children. We made it to this Napa location, I went in and asked for the part. The staff located the alternator, explained the options, helped me locate tool sets because I stupidly didn't bring tools. They helped with loaner tools so I didn't have to buy everything. They let me wash up after I completed the swap of device. I couldn't have had a better experience at an auto parts store, we always seek out Napas for any needed auto repair.”
“As someone who works in the trades this is a vital store for me. The employees are very knowledgeable about where items are. They always have sales going on, especially for my beloved Milwaukee and DeWalt tools.
I'm basically there once a month to stock up on drill bits, misc tools, drivers, and welding consumables, albeit airgas in North Haven has a much more selective supply of welding gear, but can become very pricy when all I need is some 7018 rods or new gloves.
Even there garden center is top notch.
You won't be disappointed. Great place to browse and spend money.”

“Wow! When I entered the showroom, I thought I died, and went to bathroom heaven. Their showroom is better than my entire house! The only thing better than the showroom, though, was their customer service. The receptionist, Sherleen, is outstanding! She is courteous, professional, and personable. The girl is an absolute gem. Whatever they're paying her is not enough! Don't buy her coffee, or a pizza lunch, give her a raise. Show me the money! The sales associate, Dariluz, was no less superior. She was helpful, efficient, and very amenable. In fact, she does the work of two people. She's is competently bilingual, as was Sherleen, and they should be appropriately, and significantly compensated. Show me the money! Employers should pay for these skills, that are highly sougt after. Finally, Terry, at the parts counter was friendly, and a wizard at attention to detail, with a wicked sense of humor. You can tell he enjoys his job. BENDER should feel fortunate to have these incredible employees representing them. If you require any further details of my visit, just call me. “Valley Electric is my go to place for electrical needs or if I have an electrical question. The staff are very knowledgeable and happy to help you with your electrical needs. On many occasions I have the opportunity to deal with Russ who helps with my purchases and makes recommendations as to what’s best for my installation. Today Russ walked me through my issue regarding an old fluorescent lamp fixture and suggested to discard my ballast in the old fixture and convert it to LED. Russ took the time to review the wiring diagram with me for the
new installation. The amount of illumination is incredible compared to my old lamps and didn’t to buy an entirely new fixture. Always totally pleased with the professional and friendly customer service that’s provided here. I highly recommend them for all of your electrical needs.”

“I had a hydraulic pressure line blow on a machine. Every attempt to cross-reference the part in the manual hit a dead end as the machine is ancient.I found the Parker Store in a search for a replacement hose. Grabbed the hose and hopped in the truck. Gordon took the blown hose and had a new one ready for me in minutes while I waited.Great operation, great service, and local! I can't say enough good things about this store.”
“Home Depot in Derby is my go-to for home improvement projects, appliance purchases and virtually everything in between when it comes to your home. They literally have everything you can think of, plus the countless items you may never need or use, but boy do some of those expensive tools look exciting. Fun to just browse and see what's new these days.
They always have everything I need at reasonable prices (especially compared to major competitors and Mom & Pop shops), and the staff is attentive and willing to help without being pushy or aggressive. Their Home Depot credit card through Citi is also a great option for promotional interest-free financing on larger appliance purchases, which makes those bigger expenses much easier to manage. Bought my roughly $1k dish washer (including removal and install) and only had to pay about $85 a month for a year, interest free and then I also earn redeemable points on my purchases when I spend there. Consistently a good experience, has yet to let me down.”

But Harvey's base model screen turned out to be cheaper and flimsier than I imagined. The little tabs tore off most of them. The ones I can actually get back in, I'll have to never take out. It took the shine off the product line big time.”

Took off a star because it can be really tough to track down an employee if you have a quick question or need something cut, especially on a weekend morning when it's busy. Once you do find someone though, they're usually helpful. Overall a reliable spot, just give yourself a little extra time if you need actual assistance.”
