Happy Cat Hotel
446 Broad Street, WindsorI have had cats all my life but have never, ever boarded them. Since moving to the area, we no longer have anyone nearby to take care of them when we go away, so my very first boarding experience was this past week with Happy Cat Hotel in Windsor, and let me say the bar has been set incredibly high.
One step inside of the facility and you know this is a cat place, and its full of cat people. The rooms are clean and set up specifically for our feline friends. These are not cages or condos, these are adorably themed rooms where cats can find a safe space, full of toys, resting spaces and things to climb.
I had 24/7 access to check on my kitties and by day 2 saw how comfortable they were. The daily updates from the staff with pictures were our favorite messages while on vacation! It was comforting to hear how much they loved caring for our babies! They had plenty of pets, chin scratches, treats, play time, and even got to watch CatTV!!
Our girls were also both able to have a Spa Day while at the hotel, so they came home clean, incredibly soft, very adorable and HAPPY 😊
I can not be more grateful to HCH and the amazing staff at the Windsor location. Thank you SO much for taking such good care of Beans and Alexa! We missed them but they thoroughly enjoyed their stay....2 paws up! 🐾 💜

Bark Palace Dog Day Care Kennel

She comes home from daycare exhausted and when she is groomed she comes home sparkling clean. She deeply loves the people and some of the other regular daycare dogs which makes me feel confident when we drop her off overnight. On top of that, the overnight rate is unbeatable!

When I need to go into the office, (or want to take a day trip and feel terrible about leaving him home alone) I have been taking him here to get some good play time with other dogs. The staff is always so friendly, so happy to see him, and are always able to manage his energy. When we get there my puppy runs right up to the staff and runs straight down the hall and never wants to leave!! When we get home he is so so tired like he had the best day of play. So happy with our experience here and very reasonably priced. I would love to have live cam to watch the play time but I understand the privacy factor. Would highly recommend!

I’m writing this review for Kasey Nash, Joyful Paws, because she is a superb trainer and I’m very grateful that she trained our dog Daisy to become a service dog. Daisy is a mini labradoodle and was 2 ½ when she began training with Kasey. Previously she had had two intermediate classes at the K-9 Connecticut Education Center.
To summarize, in our first session Kasey explained in detail what would be involved, and stressed the importance of my involvement. Daisy had 20 lessons spread out over 6 months. Lessons took place in Kasey’s very well equipped basement, Home Goods, Target, Petco, and Cabela Sports. Kasey sent detailed notes after each lesson on what and how to practice, and how to take commands to new levels. Daisy bonded with Kasey the first day, and became very excited at even the mention of “Kasey”.
After a 5 week evaluation period she received her “Service Puppy in Training Vest” (a proud day). Approximately five months later, Daisy did a fantastic job on her service dog test which lasted more than two hours.
Daisy’s primary task was location assistance and guidance. She learned to guide me through a department store such as Home Goods, stop at curbs outside, and more. To name just a few commands: Left, right, forward, outside, button, here, wait.
Kasey’s method was to explain a new command, demonstrate it with Daisy, then teach me to perform the task with Daisy. Lots of treats were used! Before the next lesson, Daisy and I practiced the new commands extensively, at least three times a week along with previous commands.
To give you a few examples of Kasey’s teaching, we spent an hour or so getting on and off the glass elevator at Cabela Sports. Daisy learned elevator etiquette and got over fear of acceleration and abrupt stops.
The techniques I learned from Kasey allowed me to build on many commands during our practice between lessons. To name a few, elevator techniques were used to teach escalators. “Outside” was extended to ”Back” and “Find the trail” while hiking. For fun, during one lesson, Kasey taught Daisy to push a “door open” assistance button. This took less than half an hour to my amazement. A year later Daisy still remembers this “button” command.
Kasey organized a number of field trips with her other dogs in training: Mystic Acquarium and a Scavenger Hunt to name two.
Kasey wrote an “Attestation Letter” about Daisy’s training which was instrumental in getting service dog approval for Aer Lingus and later for EuroStar (train to UK).
I highly recommend Kasey Nash to anyone considering Service Dog training.

They pile on the roast beef so you are not getting some skinny sandwich. If I lived in this area, I would be a regular and never go to other fast sandwich shops again. Super fast and friendly service and the restaurant is just a small basic deli but plenty of room for seating both indoors and out.

Connecticut Cat Connection

We felt overwhelmed in choosing which cats to adopt and they were very accommodating. With their help, we wound up finding the perfect cats for our family and couldn’t be happier.
Since then, we found a super sweet abandoned cat near our home, and fortunately they had space for her. We feel comforted knowing they will help her find a loving home.
