Back East Brewery & Kitchen
1296 Blue Hills Ave, BloomfieldI haven’t visited Back East Brewery in years. It’s huge now with a great assortment of good beer and a kitchen. Next time I’ll go hungry but I was satisfied in the dark beer department. The IPA Beer Buddies and foodies were happy too.

Thomas Hooker Brewery
16 Tobey Rd, BloomfieldVisited Thomas Hooker Brewery for an office event.
The place is big. It has two indoor spaces and a patio. Indoor spaces offer different seating options including couches. They also serve food which I found okay based on what was served which was just salad , chips and queso.
The beers here are great. I tried their lager with lime in them.. it was good. I also tried the chocolate one. It was just like an espresso martini and it was really smooth.
However since it was closed and open only for our event the AC wasn’t working that well so felt little suffocated. Parking is available as well.
Overall, I do recommend this brewery for any craft beer enthusiast.

The Simon Foundation Inc
120 Rescue Ln, BloomfieldThe Simon Foundation is a fantastic shelter! I recently adopted a cat that had some health issues, and they helped guide me through every step of how to help him. They are very communicative, kind, knowledgeable, and overall an amazing facility filled with great people. A big shoutout to Nikole for communicating with me and keeping me up to date with everything in our complex, month long health related situation. Jane was extremely helpful the first time I entered the shelter, guiding me through the adoption process. I can’t express my gratitude and appreciation enough, thank you all! If you couldn’t tell, I highly recommend adopting from this shelter :)
