We've been going to Karen for iver a decade with all our dogs, most of which have been nervous rescues. She is utterly amazing with them and does SUCH a beautiful job. I will never take my 6 year old quirky maremma sheepdog/great pyrenees/collie mixed rescue to another groomer even though we've moved. So worth the trip to have her at ease and look like a beauty queen. Always flexible, she's fast and efficient and just generally great to work with. Highly, highly reccomend Karen and all the staff there.

The kindness, patience and the professionalism of the staff at Hopmeadow Animal Hospital always amazes me. Especially because they have such a relentlessly stressful job. I have been going to Hopmeadow with my pets for 40 years. Over the years it has been so wonderful to work with such great staff and I have always had positive experiences with my dogs and cats. On my recent visit, with a very challenging ( formerly feral) cat my boyfriend and I were awed by the patience, kindness and professionalism that the staff showed in treating Izzy. Sally , the cat whisperer , Chrissy , Kat and Dr. Michelle Fiorella were truly amazing and so knowledgeable about the best and kindest way to deal with a stressed cat. What we thought would be a disaster ended up being a moving experience for us where Izzy was able to be checked over and we were able to see Sally , Chrissy, Cat, and the Doctor Fiorella in action - they were all so incredibly kind , patient and knowledgeable.
I am grateful that they are always there for my pets .

The staff are all hard working , dedicated to animals and take the time to be supportive and patient. So although going to the vet can be a very stressful experience especially when your pets are ill. I feel like I am in the best hands possible when at Hopmeadow. I also like the conservative approach they take . They don't rush to treatment they are judicious in their approach to treatment. Anyway, I do recommend the practice and am happy that they are there to care for pets.
So thanks to all the staff I hope they understand how important their role is to so many Pet Parents and how their dedication to the animals is appreciated.

My 3 Fur Babies (And my parents and I who take care of them) have been long time patients of Dr. Kubis when she was at CT Vet Center. She is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL, knowledgeable, and have I said AMAZING? My currently 14 year old Puggle - Harley - Would be crippled, or worse, long gone, if we hadn’t found her. When she decided to open her own practice - We followed her to Simsbury Vet, we will never look back! We are so thankful to have her as our vet and as a friend!

K9 Unified | Expert Dog Training and Board & Train Programs

I put in an inquiry on the K9 Unified website as I was preparing to possibly bring home a rescue puppy. Dan the owner called me shortly after and even though I was not a paying customer or even had the puppy yet at our home, he was willing to talk with me and give some anticipatory guidance. After that, I felt like I would be in good hands with him as a support. After we brought the puppy home, he worked with us over a few weeks both with in-home sessions and answering questions and giving guidance by email and phone. To me, as someone who has worked with newborns and children in healthcare, it felt like the equivalent of have a good pediatrician’s office for your child as a first time parent—someone to help guide sleep training, potty training, and overall teach you the steps to help encourage them to be good, happy dogs. My time with Dan over these last few weeks has taught me a new way of approaching dog training and understanding my new dog in a deeper way that will hopefully continue to help me support him. Our new dog is nervous around people and dogs, and we are continuing to work on ways to build his confidence while also training him in an age-appropriate way. Dan has taught me how to make everyday moments opportunities for positive training in a realistic way. Our dog spent his first day at the K9 United puppy daycare today and as it had been with my human children, drop off was rough—our nervous puppy was, well, nervous. Dan’s team kept me updated with photos and halfway through the day Dan called to check in. By the end of the day, our dog was playing happily and looked so relaxed when I picked him up. It was truly a heartwarming experience seeing him comfortable with a human outside of our family and to see a video of him playing with a new friend. We look forward to continuing to work with Dan and his team!! Thank you!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

The Coffee Spot

I’m not even one to write google reviews but my visit to this coffee shop was more than memorable despite how short it was. I was interviewing at a place nearby and decided to explore the plaza because i’m not used to simsbury and the interior was so beautiful and very vintage looking, the staff as WELL as the customers were SOOO sweet and welcoming, the girl with the pretty eyeliner was so kind and helpful to the point i even asked if they were hiring. i ordered the raspberry white chocolate scone and it was the best pastry i’ve had in a long time. this is an amazing cafe and finding out it’s woman owned makes me love it even more. definitely plan on stopping by again! 😊

I’ve driven by here countless times and finally thought of stopping by this evening. I’ve very happy I did and will definitely be back.

Service was great and food was much better than I expected. It’s creative, fresh and good quality. Nice atmosphere and a great menu for both food and drinks.
