“These are the best sandwiches we’ve had during our stay in the DMV area! Service was great and the chips and drink selections go great with the sandwiches. Highly recommend!!”
“Was in town for 4 days (visiting from Portland Oregon, was staying with a friend 3 blocks away). I had breakfast sandwiches here 3 of the 4 days, and a standard sandwich for the last dinner while in DC. AMAZING food, is all I can say! Plus, such a great little market absolutely packed with grocery goods, many/most of which were locally sourced from small businesses! Really can't wait to come back and have another meal! Also should note that the second time I came back, the woman taking my order (I think maybe the owner?) remembered my name from 2 days before, and welcomed me back warmly! The third time, she didn't even ask for my name, she just automatically typed it in!
Kid-friendliness: Kids would have a blast here, also, I saw kids there every time I walked in.
Wheelchair accessibility: There's an actual grated ramp leading up the one step to the door from the sidewalk”
“Great overall feel to the location. I ordered an Italian and it was fantastic. The roll was perfect, coffee was delicious. The staff were great as well. Highly recommend”
“Mimi’s is the best!! It’s impeccably clean and well stocked. Great brands. Whoever shops for the store does a great job. The prepared food is delicious. Everybody is friendly, personable and professional. It’s always a treat to visit Mimi’s. We are lucky to live nearby.”
“I am just reviewing the food. It was really nice. The servers don't really speak English but I was able to point and gesticulate what I thought looked nice. The shrimp in the creamy soup was delicious and so was the rice and plantains. I went back twice. It was 16.25 for a very large serve of food. I had some leftover for dinner. If you're looking for great takeout, come here.”
“Had to make a quick dinner decision. No hot wings, baked chickens etc. Justin boxed frozen dinners. No family meals. Single frozen dinners. Accepts EBT but not the Senior Healthy Benefits UCard. The Convenience Store is in an ALL income area. Home owners, renters, and Seniors. Most people are on a fixed income and Seniors could buy more if they had more fresh fruits and veggies and accepted the Senior Benefit Card. The younger home owners have a great selection of wines.”
“Very passable deli. Have ordered wine and sandwiches here. Found it to be very solid and very good overall service and food options. very low price and decent quality - would recommend for people who need a quick bite!”
“Stopped in this afternoon after reading the sandwich reviews. So many shops get subs wrong and they rocked it. Thin sliced turkey, the right amount of mayo, a nice sharp provolone and a soft roll with the right amount of chew. Anytime a liquor store dedicates floor space for a deli you know the sandwiches are gonna be great. This place did not disappoint. I'll be back for sure.”

“Fantastic selection of beer, wine, and snacks, and reliably has pantry staples like sugar, flour, onions, coffee creamer, etc. Owner/manager is friendly and pleasant, and the "requested items" board near the entrance is a nice touch. I live on the other side of Florida Ave NW, but will happily walk the extra blocks to get here!”
“I went to SE Liquors Market to buy a 6 pack of beer to eat some crabs with a friend's house. It is well stocked with a nice variety of beer, wine and food as well.”
“Bolling Commissary is always a clean, well-kept spot that has all your basic grocery needs. I used to shop here regularly when I lived closer because it was quiet, organized, and always stocked.
That said, this review is all about the sushi inside the Commissary—and let me just say, it’s hands down the BEST sushi I’ve ever had. I’ve traveled all over the world, including Japan, and this sushi is truly a hidden gem. It’s always fresh, always delicious, and never disappoints.
My go-to is the chicken teriyaki roll, but I also love the shrimp tempura roll. Honestly, I could eat it every single day. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area—definitely give it a try!”

“I’m a tradesman, working in Georgetown often. Forgot my lunch today and decided to tryout Sara’s. I can’t say that it’s the cheapest option, but that was the most delicious salad I’ve ever had !! Prosciutto cut to order, delicious greens and fresh cut tomatoes. And such a quaint little store I was the only customer the whole time I was there. Most of the things on the shelf were very expensive, a great convenience for those whose time is more valuable”
“This is a friendly neighborhood store were you can find a little bit of everything! The couple who own the store are kind and family oriented! They greet everyone like family with the respect and conversation like back in the day! Their prices are good and the fish rice and salad are delicious for lunch or dinner! My whole family loves it!”
“I was looking for some fashion and coffee table-type magazines in foreign languages for a work-related event, and wasn’t able to find them anywhere, until someone recommended I check out The Newsroom on Connecticut Ave NW in DuPont Circle. It was great! I bought 3 Vogues (French, German, and Italian), a People magazine (Spanish), and a few other fashion magazines. These will be great for our office’s fun activities related to learning/studying foreign languages. The owners were super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!”
“This is our neighborhood market, and we find it very convenient. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The selection is pretty broad considering the smallish size. I would describe it as somewhere between a convenience store and a full supermarket.I saw the store owner struggling to remove the drug addicts outside of the store. Good luck to him!”
“This place is a great mini variety store in a food desert. Sometimes they even have fresh fruits. They have so much stuff it's amazing. Everything from food to hair products to kitchen and garden products to smoke products. You can easily buy birthday gifts here too. It's a one stop shop. And the people who work there are always so kind.”
“Written in regards to staff member Elizabeth Berherels. Thank you so much. That day, my phone ran out of juice. I was desperate for a way to route my trip. You were the fourth person I'd talked to.I needed a place to charge my phone or to sell me a map.The area, unfortunately, has neither of those things.Elizabeth didn't send me away though. She was determined, and much more optimistic than I was, to find a solution. When no obvious answer was presented, she created one through personal means.Without skipping a beat, she'd assist me after giving every paying customer undivided attention.Courteously asking me how progress was going. She was the reason I was able to make that train. And the reason many plans after that were possible.I'd like this is to be one of the channels to express my gratitude.I hope it reaches you.Alex”
“Mechanic Review - These guys are top-notch. For over 5 years, I brought two vehicles (Infiniti/Jaguar) to Johnny and his team, and they consistently delivered. Whether it was a quick fix to tighten up a loose screw, an oil change, detailed maintenance to rectify wild shaking, fender bender , or who knows what else can destroy a car in a city with so many bad roads - I always knew my car was in great hands. Any work done was provided a quote in a timely manner, and anything done was always explained to me in detail, and in layman's terms so I could actually understand the issue. When recommending this place to friends, they recounted similar experiences of ease. Any time I needed something done with my car, this place took care of it. Please note that they also have a body-shop down the street in Hyattsville, and we're able to match the paint exactly in order to have the vehicle looking sparkling - they really can do it all!”
“Havent saw ms kyra since i was a kid in elementary/middle school) used to live a round the corner from her store in that area for 5 years & she helped get me in a karate class across the street from her store, even use to let me ,my bros, and my sister go when we didnt have enough $ for our items sometimes ... good to see she didnt sell out after all these years that passed i was 8 - 13 back then and 26 now and she still standing with all of all this gentrification uptown.. those were the good days Miss her and that area.”
“Lovely staff, carries a lot of items that make my life easier by avoiding a trip to the grocery store. They’ve been victimized by robberies lately so please support them!”
“Great selection and service! Get a bong and eggs and bacon! With a smile. It's hours are super convenient and they just added hot food like hot dogs and chicken tenders. They have fresh food as well, peppers, onions, even ginger root!”
“I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for your convenience store . Your store has become my go-to spot for all my daily needs. From snacks and beverages to household essentials, your store always has everything I need. The friendly staff and clean environment make every visit enjoyable. “The store is well stocked, neat, and clean. The customer service is amazing. The pharmacy is the best in the city. The pharmacist are attentive and go the extra mile. They really care about their customers.”
“Overall, it was a good experience. The Whiffer refill product was not in, and the store did-not have the Large size Coke products or the Sunday Washington Post Newspaper.”

“Came in 11:30pm walked the store with impunity for about 10 mins i couldn’t decide what I wanted. Armed officer at the door was super nice and the store was well stocked. Appreciate the good visit”
“I went in for the first time since they have a lot of good reviews. Came on 4/20 for the gummy bear gummies and theyre really actually strong. I def recommend getting those gummies from here!! Thank you for the quality!”
