GoodWood is a classic American retailer on DC's 14th and U Street corridor, founded in 1994. The store offers a constantly changing collection of popularly priced 19th Century antiques, mid century modern, and other vintage furniture and home furnishings. Shoppers can expect to find inspiration and special, unique pieces, as "everything piece has a story." GoodWood also features one of DC's only niche perfume counters and an exquisite collection of ladies' apparel, selected to fit, flatter, and delight personal style. While many have loved the shop for years and continue to find great unique pieces at moderate prices, some recent visits have noted a shift with way less vintage or antique items and more new products, clothes, soaps, and small gifts. This change is described as less "awesome antique finds" and more like "Anthropologie." Despite this, "everyone who works there is lovely," and the store remains a cornerstone of design and style.
I love GoodWood for its selection. I love their incense and candle selection. The staff have never acknowledged me in the 3 times I have been inside and few times I have purchased. The owner seems to be very nice, though.
