“Staff were incredibly kind, helpful and patient. I was shipping some hot sauces to the UK and the lady behind the desk went above and beyond to help package and price up everything for me. Delighted to say it made it to London in about 5 days! Thank you so much :)”

“Amazing customer service. There was an error on a package address I had shipped from Europe, so USPS marked it as return to sender. I went to the office, explained what happened, and they redelivered it after hours! Thank you, Mr. Wright!! God bless you, and God bless the USPS!”

“This has to be the friendliest and most helpful service of any post office in the area. It is a small inconvenience going through security, but totally worth it for all of the help I've been given over the years. Can't wait until my next visit.”

“Had the best USPS experience here with Kia. For the second time already. Her friendliness, patience and willingness to help became one of those little encounters that makes you believe in humanity lol. Thanks again!”

“My whole experience took 7 minutes to accomplish, though I was 3rd in line & mailed 4 packages. The postal worker was very helpful & efficient. I picked a time that I thought would not be busy & it paid off. She was also friendly & understanding. I use this small local post office whenever I need stamps or (more often) for mailing packages.”

“I went to the post office at 14th and T St NW and it was closed at 10:40 AM... I had to catch a train in Union Station at 12:05 and I didn't had time to take the package back home. I googled and found out there was a post office close to Union Station near the Postal Museum. I got there and the clerk told me the zip code of my package was wrong. I googled again and he was right. Damn dyslexia! I fixed it right away with a pen he gave me and he placed tape on top of it to make sure it was clear that was the right zip code
I wish I knew his name! Wonderful place and great service!”

“The Tenley Town post office in DC is the absolute worst. Sitting in the lobby calling the phone for a mail pickup only because there is but one agent managing the customers with a line reaching the door. Called for over 33 minutes as I saw people in the back moving around at a snail’s pace as if no one could hear the phone, no one EVER answered. All too often a mail pickup can take 40 minutes to an hour. Perhaps the laziest, slowest, and totally void of any customer service etiquette. They need a complete overhaul from management down to the staff in the back.

Avoid this kind post office if you can.

The only good thing is they are open on Sundays.”

“The address on Google maps is totally wrong, it’s actually building 29 which is right next to the ceremonial gate. They opened five minutes late but the clerk was very nice and helpful!”

“Had to mail a package and looked up post offices near me and was surprised to find out that there was one so close. The lady working there will is very helpful and I was able to get my package mailed off without a hitch. No crowds at all so you can get in and get out quickly. It is open Tues- Fri from 9 - 1 and you don't have to go on the naval post to get to the post office.”

“I like this post office. The lady who works there is very nice, I have never had any mail lost and there is seldom a long line. I also like the selection of greeting cards that they have for sale. I noticed several negative reviews and I felt that I had to add a positive one because my experience here has always been positive. I hope yours will be too. Thanks.”

“The mail service is mostly ok, but if I get more than one piece of mail in my box it's all crammed in... like folded..bent... crammed in the mailbox. There's no excuse for that!”

“This is my neighborhood post office and I have had such great service every time I’ve come in. Today it was even more pleasant as I was greeted with a warm friendly face. Thank you Tammy for the amazing customer service.”

“A neighborhood post office. Very grateful that we have a post office nearby. The gentleman was very helpful and attentive. Some complaints about it being closed during business hours, you have to understand smaller post offices in less busy neighborhoods are usually run by one clerk and if emergency arises they have to close the location. I’ve seen this at some other locations so it’s not unusual.”

“This post office is inside the USDA building, in the sub-basement of the South Building. This building is open to the public, but you'll need a valid photo ID and your bags will be passed through an xray machine. You'll also need to enter at one of the designated visitors entrances, such as the one closest to the Smithsonian metro station. Ask the security guards for directions to the post office once you are inside. Beyond the fact that it's hard to find, it's a post office. Friendly staff, and never a line.”

“Friendly helpful staff, normal wait times. If they’re out of stamps, just get some
At Safeway across the street. Only nuisance is entitled customers who come in and treat postal workers poorly. Read some of the 1 star reviews below for examples (or come in and witness these people—shameful to see adults act that way.)”

“I absolutely adore Miss Davis who has worked there for decades. Very kind and knowledgeable and I have seen her go the extra mile for customers to call other post offices on their behalf to track a missing item. But she almost always works by herself and that causes huge lines at certain parts of the day. I recommend going in the morning as there is rarely ever a line. At lunchtime or after 4pm be prepared to wait 30+ minutes.”

“I went here because I needed some forms to fill out. The lady at the desk was super friendly, helpful, and quick. I typically don't need to go to the post office that often but if I do in the future I'll probably go here.”

“I had to do a change of address today at 430p for my recently deceased much beloved mother. The process was straightforward. At the end, the young woman who helped me told me she was sorry for my loss and gave me a virtual hug through the plexiglass. Thank you for your humanity and your generosity--it means a lot. (The name I post under is not my real name).”
