“Make sure you visit AJ at the Watering Hole bar outside the Intercontinental at the Wharf! He is the best and nicest bartender around and takes care of everyone, including the pups who visit! Highly recommend sitting outside for a drink or three.”
“First of all, the location is great.
I enjoyed jogging every morning to the White House, the Capitol, and the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials. There are many delicious restaurants and cafes nearby.
This is the best location for sightseeing in Washington.
It was a two-bedroom room, and one room had an independent bathroom and closet, so it was comfortable, and the other room had a wide bed and closet, so it was comfortable for four people to stay without being cramped.
The living room was surprisingly spacious and the kitchen was perfect for cooking.
(However, the knife was not very sharp.)
I stayed for a week and enjoyed Washington to the fullest.
I will definitely use it the next time I visit.”
“Beyond my expectations! The service and the people are what make a place and this is it! They go above and beyond. We will definitely be back because of them.
The turn down service is a nice treat too. I’m in love with this hotel and I could talk so much about the quality it offers. The blinds open automatically. The views are amazing. We got a corner room.
Sad it didn’t have a pool or hot tub or a coffee shop within. We walked to the Westin to get Starbucks.”

“5-Stars all around! We were in DC for a concert and at the last minute decided to stay the night and not drive home. We booked on Hotels.com, for a complete steal of $150 +$42 Valet Parking. Was well worth it, only a 10min walk to Capital One Arena. Staff super nice and polite. Room was much bigger than expected. Even got little chocolate mints. Very clean. Mix of a updated hotel, based in the 50's. They have a little bar in the lobby. Only issue was when we were walking to our room, one of the hallways both Snoop Dogg and Willy Nelson must have been staying, my eyes were bloodshot by the time we got through. Our room was fine. Great overnight, would definitely book here again.”
“We had such a wonderful stay at The Darcy in Washington, DC! Traveling with young kids can sometimes be a lot, but the staff here made everything feel easy and welcoming from the moment we arrived.
The housekeeping team truly went above and beyond—they tidied up after our girls and thoughtfully restocked everything while we were out exploring, which was such a gift to come back to. The doormen were always kind and helpful, and the front desk staff were exceptional—graciously lending us umbrellas and even a stroller, all with genuine warmth.
Our room was on the smaller side, but it was so well designed and perfectly appointed with smart storage and everything we needed. The shower was a highlight—great pressure, warm, and stocked with spa-like soaps that made it feel like a little retreat at the end of the day. The room temperature stayed comfortable the entire time, which made for restful nights.
The location is fantastic—close to parks and so many attractions, making it easy to get around with kids.
Overall, such a thoughtful, family-friendly stay. We’d absolutely come back!”

“Mu husband was having cancer surgery at GWU Hospital in DC. The AKA was easy walking distance to the hospital. The property provided a delightful environment from the spacious room and the restaurant bar area. Front desk extremely accommodating. Highly recommend this charming boutique hotel.”

“This review is for Refika and Rafika only! Actually all of the valet staff were phenomenal. Rafika was exceptional and helped us out so much. We traveled with my 9 month old and had a lot of luggage and a large stroller and cooler with frozen breast milk. The hotel itself would get 1 star from me, but I had to shout out Rafika and the rest of the valet staff for going above and beyond. There aren’t any elevators on the ground level and the lift for luggage carts/wheelchairs/etc was broken during our stay, so Rafika was kind enough to come up to our room and make multiple trips with me and our luggage while my mom waited in the room with the baby. Even when the front desk told us no one could help us due to not having enough staff. Overall the hotel is not accommodating to traveling with little ones, but I can’t say enough good things about Rafika and the kind valet staff at this hotel.”

“Update from a previous review:
This is my third time staying at The Dupont Circle, and we got off to a pretty rocky start. However, the staff was determined not to let a few challenges prevent them from providing the stellar service that they are known for.
Upon check-in, my wife and I were immediately assisted with our bags and escorted to the elevator. Our penthouse suite was absolutely splendid - it offered 180 degree views of D.C., comfortable seating on the balcony, and automatic blackout curtains. However, the accommodations weren't even the best part of the stay; the staff, including Thomas and Lamond at the front desk and Abby at the Pembroke, truly made our stay unforgettable. They were attentive, kind, accommodating, and responsive to every request. To attest to the degree that they went above and beyond: I mentioned off-handedly that we were attending a Formula 1 event during the course of the weekend, and they centered several experiences around that seemingly innocuous comment. The Pembroke created a crafted dessert (with the F1 logo on the plate) and there was even a model F1 car in our hotel room during an evening turndown service.
I am absolutely floored at the care and consideration of the staff, and I am definitely converted into a loyal repeat customer. As I visit DC often for work and play, as do many of my colleagues, I will be recommending The Dupont Circle from this point forward.
Great job, team!”

“This is our second time staying here and it is our DC go to! We love the rooms, the staff is absolutely amazing, and we got upgraded to a suite as we are celebrating my wife’s birthday and Valentines Day. The cafe is extremely nice and food was fantastic. “Great staff and very spacious rooms and easy to get Foggy Bottom Metro to go to Union Station, DCA or Northern Virginia. Breakfast has a geneorus buffet and the bartenders for the evening reception are very courteous”
“Stayed here the day I proposed to my lady and the hotel staff took such great care of us! After sending them an email in advance, we were given a room upgrade, bottle of wine + goodies and a reserved table with champagne at their rooftop lounge!
This place is an amazing option in Navy Yard, especially if you're going to Albi.”
“The price is great. They accept tap without needing a CC present so that made booking super easy for me, since i stopped carrying physical cards. The location is great, you are in the heart of it all. Coffee on the second floor and those machines pump out (i was surprised too) and really good latte. Enjoy!”

“The experience here was good. The hotel is nice and well maintained. I was here for an event and the hotel is beautiful, let's get that right. It just set us back a bit since one of the elevators weren't working and the stairs didn't go to the top floor. Or at least I don't think they did. The service was very helpful for whatever else we did need.”

“We stay here 4-5 times a year due to work and it’s the best hotel in the country. Incredible breakfast included and a happy hour from 4-6 every day with 2 free drinks?!?! But the cherry on top is their superstar Mikey G who takes care of us like royalty. I travel 20 times a year. He is best customer service on planet.”
“A new hotel, perfect for active travelers. A contemporary style, what you might find in new hotels in Europe where efficiency and economy are not compromised. The location is perfect, close to Broadways music spots and other attractions but being about two blocks away has you outside of all the crowds. Great staff, great service at a very economical price.”
“A wonderful experience. The staff are exceptional, always helpful and friendly. The restaurant and bar is a great place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. We’ve stayed there twice and each time was extremely enjoyable.”

“Because of work I’ve stayed in all the chain hotels, big and small names. The River Inn is now my favorite of them all. Much better price and many more amenities! I was surprised to get a full kitchen, standard size fridge, nice view, perfectly clean space and comfortable bed. Now, that’s half of the experience, the other half is the amazing staff that made me feel so welcomed. I met Ashlee Jean on my first day, and she was professional, kind, informative, welcoming and attentive. The next day I met Brandie, who was also so welcoming, helpful, sweet, and joyful. Also, shout out to Saif, who always assisted me with a smile and joy. On the last day of my stay, the staff was also amazing but I didn’t get their names. Oh, and the restaurant was excellent with plenty options.”

“Stayed at the Georgetown Inn at the end of August 2025 and loved it! The location is perfect—right in the middle of Georgetown with so many restaurants, shops, and cafés just steps away. Everyone on staff was super friendly, and housekeeping kept our room looking great the whole week. It felt safe, cozy, and even had a restaurant in the lobby with room service, which was a nice bonus. For what we paid, I think it was an awesome deal. I’d give it a solid 4.5/5. My only wish? A pool! That would’ve made the stay even better. Still, I’d go back in a heartbeat!”
“Stayed from Tuesday to Friday and LOVED it! Because it's a b&b, they have special instructions for arriving late (past 9). My flight was already going to get in later and then was delayed an hour. I was worried about being able to get to the room ok, but it was SO easy. Great communication from AGH. I was in for a conference that served breakfast the first two days, but I went downstairs for the breakfast on the third day and it was wonderful. Eggs, veggies, quinoa, etc along with muffins and croissants. The building was dead quiet at night. I was on the 4th floor, so no one was above me. Someone was next door, but I never heard them. My room overlooked the street which was not a problem at all. Based on another review I read, I brought ear plugs and didn't need them at all. My flight wasn't until 9PM Friday and they let me keep my luggage in the front parlor area which I'm so grateful for because I wouldn't have had any idea what to do with it. As a single woman traveling alone, I not only felt safe, but somehow felt like staying with distant family. Also, if you love historic, vintage properties, this is heaven. On my next trip to DC, I will definitely stay here again! Thank you, AGH!”
“I recently stayed at Sofitel for a work trip and let me just say, I was so sad that I was only staying for one night! The hotel screams luxe and elegance — from the lobby all the way up to the room. The room I stayed in (Superior Room, 1 King Bed) was beautiful and comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the Balmain products, robe, and slippers! The location was also great — steps away from the White House and other sight-seeing stops as well as restaurants. I removed a star because of how “complicated” it was to request an itemized bill of my stay. Other hotels usually just automatically email it to you after you check out or you can easily call the front desk to request one. With Sofitel however, I had to send an email to a specific email address that I only got after being on the phone with an automated voice recording for a few minutes. After sending the email, I now have to wait up to 2 business days for my request to be fulfilled. I also can’t just call the front desk and ask because they don’t fulfill any receipt requests through the phone. In my opinion, for a nearly 5 star hotel, requesting a receipt of my one night stay should not be such a hassle… Hopefully Sofitel changes this in the future.”
“Nice hotel with good sized rooms. Friendly staff, great cleaning service, and close to lots of amenities. A/C was a bit low but it was the hottest week in DC and it was working hard. Definitely a nice spot if you’re looking for a location close to things to do.”

“You expect quality service when at an upscale or luxury hotel like the Grand Hyatt. Perfect print top the bottom everyone at this hotel provides service like it’s supposed to be. They are engaged and friendly. They make eye contact and acknowledge you when you walk by. They ask how things are going.
Kudos to management for instilling a service culture of excellence at this property and for hiring the wonderful people, which is not easy to do.”

“General Manager Arff and Engineer Byron were incredibly helpful when my cellphone inadvertently fell into the storm drain nearby the hotel. Jason and Cesar were also there to lend support. After retrieving my cellphone for which I was grateful we talked about the hotel, it's Owner's history and hospitality philosophy. We had many questions about the incredible high quality of the linens and the pillows. We will definitely be back to Foggy Bottom and stay here in the future.”

“Beautiful space, excellent location, but it’s the staff that sets Rosewood DC apart. Attentive, caring, responsive to needs. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Alex the manager and Des and Z at the front door really stand out.”
“Pros: Room is very nice. Staff is excellent. Location is convenient for site seeing. Hotel restaurant food is great. Gym is well equipped.
Cons: It's downtown DC so it was very noisy with police/ambulance sirens.
Overall: Would highly recommend and would stay here again.”

“Hotel Washington helped bring a very special weekend together for my new fiancée and I. They were more than accommodating and helping facilitate the delivery of “surprise” items our room at certain times. They really went the extra mile!
Great food location located in the lobby, cool, modern rooms with the options for stunning views of downtown DC.

“I booked the Salamander in Washington, D.C. It was a gift for my mom because we both needed a getaway and some quality girl time. I can openly say it exceeded every expectation. This was my first time booking here, and I was immediately impressed by how beautiful the property is and how genuinely exceptional the staff are. From start to finish, everyone went above and beyond—kind, courteous, knowledgeable, and truly invested in creating a great experience.
Check-in was fast and seamless. The staff provided a thorough overview of the hotel’s amenities and also shared insight into the on-site Michelin-recognized restaurant, Dōgon. Located within the Salamander, Dōgon is a chef-driven Afro-Caribbean restaurant by Kwame Onwuachi that opened in September 2024 and is now featured in the MICHELIN Guide for Washington, D.C. It was also ranked #37 on North America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025. The food and overall experience absolutely live up to the acclaim.
I booked our stay through Amex Travel, which came with fantastic perks: early check-in at 12pm, late checkout at 4pm, a $100 breakfast credit per day, and a $100 experience credit usable anywhere on the property.
We chose the lounge for breakfast both mornings, and it was phenomenal. The service was excellent, the food delicious, and the weekend breakfast buffet was—without exaggeration—the best I’ve ever had. The buffet is offered Saturdays and Sundays only; otherwise, breakfast is à la carte and can add up quickly. We also ordered room service, which was pleasantly fast compared to other luxury hotels I’ve stayed at. Just note there is a $6 delivery fee and an automatic 19% gratuity, so keep that in mind if adding an additional tip.
We stayed in Room 515, which had a stunning view of the Jefferson Monument. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, featuring a soaking tub, marble shower, smart lighting with dimmer options, and even a doorbell so you can hear when someone is at the door. TVs are cable-only, but the hotel offers Roku devices upon request. The tech team was incredibly helpful, and setup was quick and easy.
What truly stood out most was the customer service, both throughout the hotel and at the spa. Every single staff member—from maintenance to front desk to food and beverage—was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to be there. That level of consistency is rare, even among luxury hotels. We recently stayed at the Four Seasons Baltimore, and the Salamander easily surpassed it in service.
The spa experience was phenomenal. The heated pool is included, along with lemon water and fresh towels. Spa access is $38 per person plus tax and is well worth it, though subject to availability due to limited capacity. While the spa is co-ed, during our visit it was all women. Amenities include a steam room, sauna, large hot tub with jets and lounge seating, and a quiet relaxation room (what I affectionately called the “meditation room”) where phones are not allowed. They provide snacks, tea, refreshments, lockers, plush robes, and well-stocked locker rooms with toiletries, luxury lotion, and beautiful LED mirrors. The only limitation is a two-hour time limit per guest, and re-entry is not allowed.
Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and enjoyed every moment of the three days we were there. I cannot wait to return, and the Salamander has easily earned a spot at the top of my list of luxury hotels. Highly, highly recommend.”
