Heartland Animal Hospital
2203 US Hwy 27, Lake PlacidYesterday, around 4:00 p.m. I was desperately calling the local veterinary clinics around Lake Placid trying to get them to see my new little 12 week old 2 pound Tiny Yorkie. She was in a desperate fight for her life! I had purchased her the day before in Pembroke Pines from a local, reputable breeder there. All the other Clinics pointed out that it was close to 5:00 closing time, and also that they had no openings available for her until the following week! I desperately plead for them to see her, pointing out that she would not make it through the night must less the next week! She could not even hold up her head! No One would see her, but finally Heartland Animal Hospital told me to bring her on in! They came out to my car and tested her for Parvo, and thank God she didn’t have that! So they took her inside and finished taking care of her! They saved her life! For that I am truly grateful! I can’t imagine taking my puppy to anyone else besides them! They genuinely cared about saving the life of my puppy, not too worried that it was too close to knocking off time at 5:00! Thank you so much for saving my puppy’s life, Heartland Animal Hospital! The Vet and entire staff was so compassionate!

Tabby’s Bar And Grill
800 US-27, Lake PlacidWell I think I just found the best wing spot in Highlands county. No, it’s not Buffalucca’s - that place was horrible. Tried their wings twice and both times, dry, over cooked and caked so heavily in dry rub that I thought I was eating a mudd pie from the front yard.
Now don’t get me wrong here The Olympic Restaurant has some good wings and they were my go to for a while. Maria always nice pleasant to talk to and wings are good. Sauces a bit limited.
But today I gave Tabby’s Bar and Grill out in Lake Placid a try. I got my usual mango habanero but also decided to try their “Famous 420 sauce”. Sauces were on the side which allowed me to put as much or as little on my wings as o wanted. They were cooked to perfection, not dried out, rubbery and flavorless.
Only thing I didn’t care for were the fries, good yes. But you could tell they are your normal run of the mill frozen bagged fries. However that won’t stop me from going back!
Definitely recommend going there if you haven’t yet! Wish I had taken a picture of my food but I was hungry, lol.

443 Lake June Rd, Lake PlacidOur first time eating here. Everything was really good. My wife had the chicken cheesesteak and I had a cheeseburger LTO mayo on the side medium rare. Our server was awesome!!! Was on point with keeping my miller lites right when I needed another one. Definitely will be back!!!🤩👍
