4200 Kings Hwy, Port CharlotteI can’t thank Dr. Carlo and the staff at Charlotte Animal Hospital enough. My six month old puppy, Duke, needed emergency surgery and Dr. Carlo stayed after hours to save his life. It was one of the scariest experiences I’ve ever been through, but she took such amazing care of him and kept me informed every step of the way.
Everyone at the hospital was kind, compassionate, and truly cared about Duke. You can tell this team loves what they do and treats every animal like their own. Dr. Carlo even personally called to check on Duke after he came home, which meant so much to me and showed how much she genuinely cares about her patients. Because of her quick action and dedication, Duke is home recovering and back to being himself.
I will always be grateful for everything they did for my puppy. I highly recommend Dr. Carlo and the entire team at Charlotte Animal Hospital.

Recently in the midst of the move and stress associated with that, we had to put our cat down. The team was very empathetic, understanding, helpful and caring during this difficult time. They didn’t even take payment on the day she passed. When we arrived to pay and pick her up we were given an extra special gift of her paw prints in clay, ashes in a beautiful box and they even mailed us a card after her passing. We can’t thank the staff enough for the care they gave Tiger and our family.

I had to board my cat Hero with Maggie and her staff (Nicole, Tasha, Zinga and Heidi) for approximately 6 to 7 weeks and I will be honest I was nervous because he has never spent more than a day or two away from me and this was going to be the first time that this was gonna happen and I’ve had him for 10 years now and I will tell you this all my fears were alleviated by Maggie and her staff. They just did for him and made him feel like he was in his own kingdom and their boarding facility, which has a ton of toys has enough space for him. He has places to recline. He even has a perched view that he now uses, and I have been able to see him on a regular basis and it is awesome. I thought he was going to not be happy but other than just not being happy that I’m not there all the time he is doing wonderful with them. He is active. He has put on weight so Maggie feeds take care of them food wise, which is amazing and everybody that has come in contact with him has also done amazing Job so all in all if you need someplace to board your cat for any length of time, I highly recommend them they will make sure that when you get your cat back your cats’s not gonna be happy leaving them

New England Roadside Grill
22637 Bayshore Rd, Port CharlotteI spent every summer growing up in New England and flavors here brought back some amazing memories. This is a family owned and run little restaurant and everything is made very traditional and they have a lot of classic meals.
I tried a few different dishes and while there are slight variations, just like you find in areas of New England, some were even better than ones I remember but they were all great. The Portuguese steak was actually the most tender I’ve ever had and the sauce was awesome.
It’s a cute little spot, plenty of parking, the inside was really cute and just feels like a classic little family owned place with family photos and all.
If you’re a fan of Portuguese or New England food do yourself a favor and give this place a try and you won’t be disappointed and if you are, Ah queixa te.

Wow! What a ride!! The place is very interesting. There is a little museum room that talks about El Jobean and a circus performer named Suicide Simon. The waitress was interesting. She was very nice but having a some issues with other staff that took some of her attention. *Probably a one time thing* The food was great. She recommended a bacon burger and it was fantastic. It was cooked perfect. The potato salad, macaroni salad, and coleslaw were fantastic! We will return!
Part #2 - We went back for lunch today. 11/11/25 It was cold today! High of about 60! We got chili fries and coneys. The food was very good! It's a very casual place. There isn't a ton a indoor seating. A couple of people ended up sitting together. They seemed cool about it though.

Kielbasa with onions and sauerkraut, a cabbage roll and 3 pierogies. I chose to try 3 different pierogies. They were all very good. But since I am a big jalapeño fan. That one was my favorite! The Twisted Fork

The food was great, the service was excellent, and everything was clean. They have numerous TVs, including a giant screen, making it a great place to watch sports or hang out. The service was quick, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. They also have bands on the stage out back, which adds to the overall experience. I will definitely be returning the next time I am in the area.
