“If I could give more stars I would after my wonderful experience today!!! I was using the wrong location when checking my weekly ad online. When I got to store I went straight to the pork chops that were on sale...for what I thought .99/ cents a pound. What a fantastic deal right?! Well, they were not on sale at this store but another one so I was in error. I drove almost 30 miles to get this special. The young man from meat dept was exceptional in all ways, kind, understanding, helpful above and beyond. When he figured out my error, he said let me go speak with the manager of the store, Mr. Elvis, After hearing of my long drive, he too was kind and generous enough to honor the other store's price rather then their own good price at $1.49/pound. He arranged for me to go to Gina in aisle 3 when I was ready to check out with my pork chops. So, back the young man and I go to get what I was buying. He even offered to carry my hand basket concerned if it was too heavy for me. Gina was just as helpful, pleasant and kind. This superior service by every single employee I met today CLEARLY shows their commitment to their customers!!!!! I am, by nature a person who feels very blessed in life, so I look for ways to be grateful, and to say thank you for the blessings that are bestowed upon me. Winn-Dixie, you are doing something right and wonderful with employees as spectacular as just the few I met today. Thank you thank you thank you so very much for this wonderful experience today! “My wife and I had dinner on a Saturday recently. We sat in the back looking out at the Suwannee River. The service was prompt and courteous. I had chicken francies however it's spelled. Basically a chicken cutlet dipped in flower and then egg and sautéed and served with the sauce that gives it its name. Two cutlets with a side of rice mixed with some kind of tasty pesto and Mediterranean vegetables. It was exceedingly delicious and I took half home for tomorrow. My wife had meatball lasagne which she thoroughly enjoyed and she took half of it home as well. We will eat there again soon and often.”

“Descent Dollor Store stopped in to take advantage of the Saturday discount coupon. The store had a lot of stock items that were in the isles, and it looked like they were rearranging some of the seasonal items. The staff was very friendly.”
“The store is convenient, a little messy with dim lighting, but I'm typically shopping here because of its convenience of being on my way home. People are friendly, the only thing I wish was better is just that it was tiddy & not so dark. As stated, staff is helpful & kind & it's a great location to grab that last minute item you forgot at the supermarket.”
“I like shopping at WalMart, except for a few things. The removing tags from everything stinks. How do people know what they are going to pay for something, but no price to be found. And not everyone has a cell phone to download the app. Also too many of those big order carts st the same time. They have big carts, and take up a good portion of the isle. And there is just to many. Need to set regulations, rules. Another thing is the electric carts. Yesterday when we went in, my mom couldn't shop because 4 of them in one end of the store were broken and 2 in the other end. Again, like Publix. If a customer goes out with a cart, an employee must accompany them to return cart. This way they are not out in the elements as much and no rain too!”
Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
