Daniel was very friendly from the first interaction on the phone. I was able to get a convenient appointment for service. It was my sons car that was having problems and I was worried about a mechanic taking advantage of him. However, Daniel kept us informed and did not try to charge us for unnecessary repairs.”

I spoke with Smitty for a good 20 or so minutes while picking it up, and I immediately could tell this wasn’t just a business to him, but a passion.
Over 50 years of experience alone, he knows how to hire, and Happy and team are all incredible. These guys set the standard for a mechanic shop, and then immediately exceed it.
He is also very well connected in the mechanic scene and knows how to get you quality parts and do quality work for a genuinely surprisingly reasonable price.
The wall of his office is covered in certificates that he and his team have earned, and he’s active on the floor making sure his guys learn to an expert level like he did himself.
Cannot recommend them enough, they saved my vehicle, got me an engine with 30k less miles than the one they initially found and kept the price the same, and did the whole job in a couple days all while working on a whole fleet of cars.
All the work is warrantied for a year, and you most likely will not need that warranty as of the 6 or so jobs he’s done between me and my roommate, there have been zero issues since.
I wouldn’t have written the book of a review if I didn’t have so many good things to say, and I could keep going. Never before have I had such trust and good communication with a mechanic. Straight to the point, honest, and don’t hit you with a list of additional things that “need replacing” like we’ve all experienced a time or two before.
To close, shop around all you’d like, that’s never a bad thing to do, but I have a good feeling you’ll end up at Smittys not only for the price, but the confidence in knowing things will be done right.”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review for Total Performance
I can’t say enough good things about Total Performance - Randy Williams and his team.
After dealing with a persistent belt walk issue on a high-power 10-rib supercharger setup that VMP themselves installed (their bracket, their supercharger) and after multiple visits with them couldn’t resolve my belt issue instead blaming my driving style.
Randy took the time to actually diagnose the problem instead of guessing. He identified that a tensioner bracket was allowing the tensioner to flex under load and unload, which was causing the belt to walk off under aggressive driving.
Randy sourced the correct spacer and hardware, corrected the issue properly, and explained exactly what was happening mechanically. After picking the car up, I put it through multiple rapid load/unload scenarios — and the belt stayed perfectly in place. Problem completely resolved.
What really stood out was:
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to dig into someone else’s install without ego
• Clear communication
• Fixing the root cause, not selling unnecessary parts
If you have a performance car and want it diagnosed and repaired the right way, this is the shop. Randy’s experience and integrity are obvious, and I won’t hesitate to bring my car back or recommend Total Performance to anyone who wants real results instead of trial-and-error.

“Had a nail in my tire but didnt have the key for the wheel lug nut lock. The service team was great and friendly, worked me in quickly and removed the lug lock and put on my spare tire. “I called about having my truck A/C serviced as it was blowing on the warm side. They were busy and the person I talked to promised to call me back with an appointment time. He called me back the same day. The mechanic gave me two options on the service and took time to explain each option. I watched him as he worked. He was knowledgeable and friendly. My A/C works like new. The price was good. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this shop.”
