They’ve expanded out their store over the past few years to include more fish. Great price on spiderwood and rocks. Betta fish are in their own tanks with a drip water change system. I’ve never seen a dead fish ever in their tanks. Beautiful plants. Many varieties of Cory which Im always looking for. They also sell Aquarium coop goods!
Update June 2025: I was able to find local celestial pearl danios here!! More harlequin rasboras and a blue eyed yellow pleco. Still highly recommend.
Update June 2026: all of my celestial pearl danios are still alive and my pleco is THRIVING.

Judie engineered a trip from Florida via airplane with a Puppy Nanny to NJ for the cost of a plane ticket. My son and DinL met the Nanny at the airport with a smooth transaction. All paperwork was professionally completed before the transaction. My granddaughter loves her beautiful brown cocker. Smart and best personality, a common thread on the reviews. When my granddaughter walks her, she prances that cocker flow! In addition, I purchased a black/tan cocker four years ago from Judie. I repeat all of the above. She is so loving and has the best disposition! Loves everyone, doesn’t bark at other puppies, loves interactions with everyone. She’s my golf cart/walking Buddy. Her owner, passed away on April the 19th, and she was delivered to me on the 21st of April. I wanted to do something that might make her happy. 7121 SE Maricamp Rd, OcalaWe love all of the incredible people at this animal hospital , they saved the life of our dog Cocoa as she was diagnosed with Addisons disease and was near death when we brought her to the miracle worker Dr. Johnson . We now live in the Gainesville area and STILL this is the only place we depend on to treat her , Cocoa has to get an injection every month and I religiously make this trip every month . I have tried other veterinarian hospitals in our area but NONE of them measure up to the kind of care and adoration that they give to both of our dog's , and price wise we save around 100 dollars per visit compared to the other locations we have been to , when it comes to money all animals care is expensive let's face it but these dog's are our kids now and you can't put a price on the care they need , Dr.Johnson works with the animal owners in many ways to try to keep costs down . If you want 5 star care and love for your pet this is the place for them , it's very clean and organized and the staff is incredible , they've been there all through Cocoa's life , she was diagnosed at 2 and she's going on 11 now which is incredible because year's ago this disease was a death sentence . Folk's it's not just my dog's , I've witnessed the doctors and staff here treat EVERY animal with the same love and compassion as they do with our dog's . Important ... they are by appointment only of course unless it's an emergency but you will not find a better place to take your pet . As I've said before , Michigan may have Dr. Pol but we have Dr. Johnson and there is no better .

Not only is her office affordable, which takes off the worry of “can I afford this?” when my dogs get sick (I have only had blue noses, which are typically unhealthy little creatures), but she genuinely takes the time to address your concerns and deeply cares for her patients. There have been quite a few times I’ve freaked out over nothing because I’m an anxiety queen where she could’ve taken me for a ride and charged me when it wasn’t necessary, and she never has. She’s a woman of honesty, integrity and loyalty. I also love every member of her office staff - vet visits feel like visiting family. Thank you for taking care of us! We love you guys.

Peterson Smith Equine Hospital + Complete Care
4747 SW 60th Ave, OcalaWhile in Florida one of 3 horses ingested too much sand, we had A vet Dr Malone come out to examine her and he found her to have way to much sand in her system and has us take her to Smith Peterson equine hospital! When we arrived at about 11:00 pm the staff went to work immediately to assess and begin treating her, with in 1 hour they had her assessed and took the time to tell us everything they had found and were doing for her. It took 3 days to get her back in better shape and could be returned to us. We were totally impressed with the everyone there and commend them on there manner of performing their job, we were very impressed with the doctor taking the time daily to update us on her recovery. 4485 SE 53rd Ave, OcalaCan’t say enough about Maricamp Animal hospital. I took my dog there because she was actively having a seizure. They were the closest to my house. ( I have never had my dog there before) As soon as we got there they took my dog straight back and didn’t ask questions about my name, seeing driver’s license, making sure I was going to pay, nothing! Their main focus was my dog and her health. They were very compassionate and caring, and it showed!! Everyone there was extremely nice and caring. They took such wonderful care of my puppy girl. I will be taking both of my dogs there from now on. Thankyou Maricamp Animal Hospital for seeing my girl and taking such good care of her, and for taking her back and treating her in an emergency even tho she had never been there before. After Bryce took us on a thorough tour of the facility, (absolutely incredible, and fully secured if your dog happens to be an escape artist like mine btw!) My Albert boarded with them for a whole week. I received a report card for him & photo each day, and through these updates it was easy to see how at ease and comfortable my Albert was at Red Fern. I have been VERY nervous leaving Albert anywhere due to some negative experiences with pet care in the past, and Red Fern has entirely restored my ability to leave him somewhere safe where I KNOW he will be cared for (and *never* escape). If you are a nervous pet parent like myself who prefers daily updates, Red Fern will be perfect for you and your pup! If anything different occurs with your dog during their stay at Red Fern, no matter what, you are updated promptly and thoroughly, and I am so impressed with & thankful for this. Bryce provided us with gracious hospitality, and made us feel confident that Albert would be cared for perfectly. Red Fern will DEFINITELY be seeing us and our Albert again, & I doubt that I will ever have to find a different boarding lodge!! Highly recommend!!

I can't speak highly enough of Neil and his team. As a fellow Brit, I can appreciate Neil's sarcastic British sense of humor and no-nonsense personality. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but beneath that is someone who genuinely knows dogs. Him and his team understands their behavior, knows how to manage them properly, and takes excellent care of them.
Our first dog was a rescue with aggression issues, and finding a boarding facility willing to take him was incredibly difficult. Neil had no hesitation in handling him and looked after him exceptionally well, something very few boarding facilities are willing or equipped to do.
The facilities are well maintained and exactly what you'd expect from a boarding and training kennel. The kennels are kept clean, and the staff always follow any feeding or medication instructions we've provided.
There's also plenty of secure outdoor space for the dogs to socialize, exercise, and burn off energy safely.
If you're looking for a place where your dog will be treated like a child in a luxury hotel, then a home sitter may be a better fit. That's simply not what a boarding kennel is designed to provide. Dogs bark; it's a normal part of being around other dogs and the excitement and noise that comes with a boarding environment. In my experience, most dogs benefit far more from having plenty of secure space to run, play, and socialize with other dogs (when appropriate) than they do from a few individual walks each day.
If you're looking for a, reasonably priced, experienced, professional facility where knowledgeable staff will care for your dog in a safe, well-managed environment, I'd recommend Ocala Dog Ranch every single time.

At 6pm I was shocked they were still available... boy they were delicious. 3 in the party, 3 different meals... The brisket dinner was so incredibly tender it melts in your mouth (currently salivating). The Reuben was also extremely tender and mouth watering and delicious. Lastly, the turkey breast was actual turkey not deli meat. And the turkey was smoked to perfection. The slaw was tasty and the fries... my goodness... they're so great! I only wish my company wanted the fried pickles.. while they're too salty for my company I had them try 1 each and they liked them, but they can't consume a lot of sodium.... not to say the pickles were bad, cause, again, best meal I've enjoyed outside of sushi in YEARS!!!!!! Alyssa (I hope that's her name) was a sweetheart. She didn't bother us, was attentive and was super kind to my folks. Fairly priced and great food! My only gripe is parking... I'm not ever going to fault them for the city's lack of handicapped parking but I wish there was a safer, more convenient way to unload handicapped/ elderly.

7670 SW 80th Pl, OcalaSusana was very responsive and was always willing to answer any questions. We fell in love with our pup as soon as we saw her online. When we arrived she brought our girl out and allowed her to play with the kids and have us a bag full of treats, toys and all her health certifications.
This process was so easy and now we have our fur baby to complete our family!!

She went out of her way to accommodate my schedule to come see a beautiful male 9 week old German shepherd. She spent considerable time with me, introduced me to both the puppy’s parents, provided medical records, and a book of detailed information to care for the new puppy so I left a deposit to pick him up after he had some additional training. When I arrived to pick up our new puppy, Annette had everything ready and made sure we had everything we needed for him to keep him on his diet and health needs. My family is very happy!

Yes you do have to train and we are pleased that she loves agility and we are starting Therapy Dog training now that she passed her AKC Good Citizen. Thank you for such a great dog
