“The gas is always so cheaper out here in interlachen. I don't know why all these other gas stations are keeping their gas prices so high I feel like they are ripping us off on fuel and that's not right”
“I love this store! I was deployed to the Ft McCoy Highschool during Hurricane Milton, and my partner and I, on a whim, stopped off for dinner before the big storm hit. The staff at the store were so gracious, and upon learning of the posting my partner and I had received, they gifted us all the food in the deli so we could feed everyone at the shelter, and that's exactly what my partner and I did. Please, support this local store. The staff are all amazing and they have amazing hearts and I will never forget their generosity... Thank you all!!!”

“Always has the best gas prices in Interlachen and you can still get it 3¢ cheaper for free by going in and asking for a gas card. Has more items than Family Dollar/Dollar Tree and staff is very friendly.”

“Not handicap friendly when entering the building. Free Parking and Handicap parking. Has a Subway inside store which is a good place to eat . The store is clean and has snacks ,fruit, prepackaged sandwiches. Coffee, cigarettes ,lottery Gas , Parking is a bit tricky gotta watch for people walking and driving They don't pay attention almost got hit by a truck he was busy on his phone I was just going inside to building when this happened. Not good to experience. Pay attention to surrounding please be careful everyone.”

“This is the nicest and largest dollar general I've ever been to. Workers and manager are super nice and helpful. They have 3 aisles just for home decor, a decent wine and beer section, and they even have fresh fruits and veggies. It made my day honestly. Best DG I've ever been to!”
“I went in to Hitchcock's grocery store to check out the prepared food, they sale. I wanted some chicken breast, coleslaw (fresh) and some good ol'green beans. Got some mashed potatoes and gravy to. A complete meal and it was yummy. 2 days of chicken dinner and it cost me $40.00 Dollars.”
“This is literally the best option that I have for fresh food in a 10-minute (a little over 10 miles) radius of where I live in the middle of nowhere. Dollar General is closer to me and honestly a bit more higher quality, but it lacks a lot of things, making this store a necessity.
Hitchcock's is a bit expensive, and you have to be really careful with looking at dates on prepackaged food. I once bought potato salad from the deli that was several weeks out of date, which is honestly bizarre, considering how many people shop at this location -- I would think they would have problems keeping stuff ON the shelves...
I've also been quite disappointed by their hot food (fried chicken was greasy, salty, and flavorless).
But hey, it's all that a lot of us have, and it's open late-ish, so that's something.
EDIT: In January 2025, shortly after I submitted this review, I went to Hitchcock's to get shredded cheese and ended up almost buying a pack that had expired in November 2024... ?
However, I take back what I said about their fresh food. I haven't had their fried chicken in a long time, but their tenders and ribs are outstanding, as are their coleslaw and potato salad. This is honestly a pretty good store for what it is, and like I said, it's the most convenient option that I have for fresh food, so I honestly can't complain much.”
“Stopped in to pick up some yogurt for my mom and also picked up some fried chicken and macaroni & cheese for my teenager since she loves it. Also picked up a particular kind of breakfast food. Not going to mention what it is because I don't want someone buying it all, and Hitchcock's is the only place I can find it.”
“This is my local DG! I stop in regularly and it is always clean, with fast, friendly service. They do seem frequently short staffed because there's usually a lot of merchandise in the isles, that needs stocked. With only the manager, one cashier and SOMETIMES one other person on shift, it's understandable. Those folks work hard to put the customer first, It's a good place to shop!”
