We stayed there during our visit to Universal and we liked everything in that hotel, you get much more for the price you pay.Location: ~20 minutes waking from universal, we always walked and never waited for the shuttle. Downtown Disney is 15-20 minutes drivingRoom: spotlessly cleanParking: plenty of parking, even though we were there during the weekendStaff: we only dealt with them for the check in/out and they were welcoming and helpful Dinning: there’s a restaurant in the lobby that offered a breakfast buffet but we didn’t get to try it as there are so many nice restaurants close by.

Hotel has a TERRIFIC location if you want to go to Universal Studios. 3 minutes away, traffic permitting. The king size room was clean and comfy, the staff were nice and friendly. Great location for food as well, just off International Drive. Their is a Wawa about a half mile away and for a PA resident it doesn’t get much better than that. We used Uber for our primary transport, not the complimentary shuttle, cause we wanted to go when we wanted and not rely on a bus schedule. A buffet was offered and was very reasonably priced. We will stay here the next time we come down. Thank you to the staff for taking such good care of us and seeing to our needs!!

The Good: Check-in was quick and easy. The room smelled nice and appeared clean. The beds were comfortable, and the water pressure in the bath was great. It was close to most things, and if you didn't feel like walking, you could get a Lyft very quickly. The mini-mart was nice and stayed open late. There was also a restaurant and bar, but we didn't use it. There was one issue, which was corrected while we were there. The Bad:You are allowed only one parking spot per hotel room, so plan wisely or rent an extra room. The toilet roll holder fell off the wall as well as the towel bar. I told the front desk to ensure we weren't blamed for the damage and it could be fixed at a later time. We left for the day and came back. I checked my messages and was informed that the repair person could not complete the work because we had a do not disturb sign and to contact them when we were ready. However, we went into the bathroom to find debris on the floor, toilet, sink, and screws in a couple of different spots. We cleaned it up and set it aside. So someone had been in the room despite the do not disturb. A slight miscommunication, but concerning nonetheless. The Worst: On our second day we were approached by a person who worked at the concierge desk and asked if we received our 'Welcome Package' at check-in. We said no and followed him to the desk to get it. The woman informed us that the hotel held get-togethers for members of the hotel as a way to say thanks for staying and in the hopes of keeping our business. She told us going to the event would also give us a gift card to use at Universal as the hotel works with Universal Studios and that was why it was an American Express card. In order to attend we had to put a deposit down to hold our place. After paying the money, that was when we found it was a lie. It was a timeshare presentation that you had to go to at some other location away from Best Western that lasted around 2-3 hours. After I found out, I wanted a refund, but could only receive one if I went to the event. It put a damper on the stay and our view of the hotel. We could not believe a hotel would allow or encourage such behavior on the premises. My husband went to the front desk about the issue on our last day there and told them about what happened and the refusal of a refund. She didn't say much besides giving an apology. It was clear we weren't going to get help from the front desk or those at the 'concierge' desk. We won't be returning to this property, and I'm currently working with my bank to get my back. I won't be staying at any Best Western after this either. There are plenty of hotels, and I'm sure they don't allow such behavior on their property, so go elsewhere.

Our timeshare booked Best Western Orlando Gateway for our FL vacation. Upon arrival we found our room was only a standard double. At check in we asked to upgrade to a suite since we were staying all week and it was our wedding anniversary. We were advised there should be a suite available the next day & there would be an upcharge fee, which we agreed to pay. Shortly after we arrived in our room, we received a phone call from Mable (who had checked us in) that we would be able to move to the suite the next day and since it was our anniversary, the hotel was not charging for the upgrade! The surprise didn't stop there, the next day when we arrived in our jr. suite there were balloons, a goodie bag, card and free breakfast vouchers from Theresa (dir. of front office) to celebrate our anniversary! Mable and the entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay here great! BTW, the breakfast buffet was delicious! Will definitely stay here again!

Clean rooms and helpful front counter. No big frills but it was a convenient location and had what we needed. There was an enterprise car rental at the hotel which would have been handy. The breakfast buffet isn't included and you have to tell them the night before if you wanted to do that. It was only okay. We only did it once and went elsewhere for breakfast the other mornings.
