“What a great experience. The opposite end of the spectrum from corporate box-store vets. Dr. Nelson cared for our dogs like they were her own. She even called me to check up on them on a Saturday morning.”

“I had a great experience with Southgate Vet. This is my first winter living seasonally in FL with my dog and when she needed a sick visit, I called a couple of different offices. Lorrie was very pleasant and helpful to get me connected and schedule a next day appointment. Jorge was very thorough taking my dog’s medical history and clearly communicated next steps. My dog was seen by Dr. Casey, who has wonderful energy and clearly stated options and the treatment plan. Happy to be connected to a great office!”

“Truly a wonderful animal hospital: transparent, caring, and polite! They helped with my daughter’s young cat who had just given birth to kittens a few days ago. I rushed in holding the mother cat as she was giving birth, with the first kitten literally landing in my hand. The staff quickly took her, placed her in a safe cage with bedding, and reassured me: “She’s doing great, just take her back home, and if there are any complications, come back.” They didn’t charge me for the visit and even let us keep the cage with bedding. Such kindness and compassion mean so much, thank you!”

“We've known Dr. Fridlund for quite a while. We started with her at another clinic and we we're glad to find her at this one. We've always enjoyed her cheerful spirit and her practical demeanor when we needed to discuss serious quality of life situations. She saw us through the end of life stages with our last Scotty, Montgomery when he was diabetic, deaf, blind and dementia finally set in. On an happier note, we just met with her for an introduction to our new pup, Graeme, at The Animal Medical Clinic of Gulf Gate. It was great to see her again under better circumstances and there's nothing like a pup to make everyone smile.”

“Dr Kirsch and the entire staff are phenomenal. Our 5 yr old black lab has been struggling with a lame rear leg. MRI, x-rays showed no issues but a nodule in his hip. Diagnosis was not comprehensive as no seen issue that pin pointed his lamness. We took the nodele out, Dr Kirsch did all he could, carring, very, very thurough and went the extra mile for us. Thor is still recovering and working through rehab. 100% confidence in Dr Kirsch and staff.”

“We have gone to multiple vet clinics in this area over the last 15years and this is the best place we’ve found. They’re fast, friendly, very professional, so compassionate, and they’ve taken all of our concerns and questions seriously, in a way I haven’t experienced at other offices. Obviously the cats don’t love a checkup, but they do love the cat rooms with the climbing tree and TV playing videos of birds, the churu bribes also really help. I am truly grateful for how seriously they have taken our cat’s health issues. They have been a major help in getting his ear issues under control, going farther than just treating the symptoms, but working with us to find the root of the problem. I think this was only our 5th or 6th visit with them, but I’m just so impressed and grateful every time I’m there, I had to leave a review. I’m really glad we switched over to this clinic.”

“We have been coming here for 8 years. The entire staff are absolutely wonderful. Our dog literally pulls us into the office from the car, excited to see everyone. They have helped with everything from routine visits and vaccines, to weird golden retriever-related digestive issues, to the random swallowed toy or sock (the dog, not us). We drive from out of town to come here because they are all so amazing.”

“We have been a client of Dr. Maus ever since we moved to Nokomis three years ago. Dr. Maus is a very compassionate person who takes a personal interest in your pet. Recently we had to make the difficult decision to put our dog Misty down after 15 years. The staff were excellent and very caring. Thank you Dr. Maus for your great work. If and when we get another pet Ark Animal Hospital will be our go to for vet service.”

“I had such a wonderful experience at Cat Hospital of Sarasota and felt compelled to share. From the very first phone call, the receptionist was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful, which is what initially made me feel comfortable choosing them. When we arrived, both the technician and the veterinarian were just as amazing — warm, welcoming, and truly compassionate. They took their time with me and my kitty, listened carefully to my concerns, and offered thoughtful, gentle suggestions to help with her ongoing tummy and vomiting issues. What stood out most was how thorough and unhurried they were. I never felt rushed, and it was clear they genuinely care about both the animals and their owners. This was, without question, one of the best veterinary visits I’ve ever had. I’m so grateful to have found a place that treats my cat with such kindness and professionalism. I won’t be going anywhere else, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for attentive, knowledgeable, and truly caring feline-focused care.”

“We absolutely love this vet and are so grateful for the way they care for Tank! Having such a large dog can sometimes make vet visits a little stressful, especially because Tank doesn’t love every single dog he comes across. From the very beginning, everyone here has been so understanding of him and his needs. They are always extremely cautious and thoughtful when we arrive, making sure we can get Tank into a room safely and helping us get out afterward without any issues. That may seem like a small thing, but it means SO much to us. They understand that not every dog is going to be comfortable around other dogs, and they have never once made us feel embarrassed, judged, or like Tank is a “bad dog” because of it. The front desk staff is always so kind, patient, and understanding. They make us feel welcome every time we come in and are always willing to work with us to make Tank’s visits as stress-free as possible. We also cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mac. We feel like he is incredibly honest and straightforward with us, which is something we really value in a veterinarian. We genuinely feel that his priority is doing what is best for Tank. He takes the time to explain things to us, gives us his honest opinion, and never makes us feel like unnecessary tests or treatments are being pushed just for the sake of spending more money. That level of honesty and trust means everything when you’re putting the care of your baby in someone else’s hands.Tank is a huge part of our family, and knowing we have a vet and an entire staff who understand him, respect his needs, and genuinely care about him gives us so much peace of mind. We are beyond thankful for Dr. Mac and everyone here and couldn’t recommend them enough!”

“Dr Jason, Wendy and the whole staff are wonderful. My last dog had diabetes so she had to have two injections a day for three years before we let her go. Along the way they were fabulous. Now that I have a new puppy, it makes me very happy to have them as our Veterinarian. The best!!”

“Dr. Jack Landess is amazing! We moved to the area and had a vet back home for 10+ years so it was difficult to decide who to switch to. I loved the clinic and the front desk staff so figured why not. They are easy to work with, very reasonably priced, they have a lot of meds available at the clinic and a website with every med you could need plus an auto-ship option. They got my doodle on Numelvi which has fixed all itching issues I’ve dealt with for 10 years. Now my pit has some autoimmune stuff going on, which can be super complicated to my understanding. But Dr. Jack is knowledgable about that too! My pit is making progress with his recommendation. Thank you Nokomis Vet!”

“I can't believe how wonderful this office is. They really care about my dogs, and it shows through their actions. My previous vet refused to examine my male dog because of his temperament (Chihuahua). This office worked with him to make him comfortable before they examined him. They were able to do everything needed in just one visit!”
