“Prefere this to the Airport Rd Punta Gorda Publix, great parking availability, nice bakery and deli, fresh food area is well stocked and neat. Plenty of cashier's that are more friendly than PG. 4 stars because you do pay more at Publix than Walmart”
“Another trip, another ALDI, and at this point it feels like a familiar ritual. I have now shopped nearly 70 ALDI stores across 22 states, and I can say with confidence that this one fits right into the pattern. Just this year alone, my cart has rolled through ALDIs in Brunswick Georgia, Middletown Rhode Island, and Mount Pleasant South Carolina, each one echoing the same efficient layout and no-nonsense charm.
The rhythm of the store is predictable, but that predictability is part of the appeal. Boxed snacks and fresh produce greet you up front, while the shelves of canned goods stand ready for anyone stocking a pantry. The famous Aisle of Awesomeness - ALDI's rotating showcase of seasonal surprises and quirky finds - runs like a midway attraction, tempting shoppers with everything from kitchen gadgets to garden tools. Along the back wall, dairy and deli items line up neatly, while meat and fish claim their place along the side. Freezers hum with frozen vegetables, pizzas, and cuts of meat, offering a reliable backup for quick dinners.
Depending on local laws, you may even find beer and wine tucked into the mix, a reminder that ALDI adapts just enough to each community while still keeping its core identity intact. That identity is one of consistency: the same straightforward aisles, the same blend of essentials and oddities, the same sense that you can shop quickly without losing the fun of discovery.
After so many visits, I've come to appreciate ALDI's sameness as much as its quirks. It is a chain that thrives on repetition, yet still manages to surprise you with a seasonal candle or a box of European cookies. Another trip, another ALDI. And another reminder that sometimes reliability is its own kind of delight.”
“Gotta agree with most of the other reviews. This is a very welcome addition to Deep Creek. Had no Idea Dollar General stores could be this nice. Wasn’t expecting much, so I was very pleasantly surprised by the selection. Great that I don’t have to run all the way to the Walmart to just pick up a few things.”
“Was happy to locate a Winn Dixie that wasn’t too far from our home. We had 2 other Winn Dixie’s near us but over the past 3 years they closed up and I didn’t like that. This Store was within a reasonable driving distance for us, just have to plan the extra traffic I didn’t have before to go grocery shopping. The store was clean, super well organized and the staff was great. Very friendly and we will certainly go there now for groceries.”
“Mandy in Deli is extremely helpful and knowledgeable regarding the deli products. She is very kind. It was a pleasure meeting her and I appreciated her assistance in a recipe I was making forCompany. She nailed it.”
“Don’t know anything about it other than that I’m glad I stopped in the nice lady was closing I Walked up and asked if she would make me a Carne Asada burrito and she was more than happy to accommodate me and they have pickles spears pickle spears fresh Chris refreshing pickles I like a place that gives you a paper so that was a good surprise of just it was awesome great place to stop”
“I love this store. It reminds me of a mini Wal-Mart. They have practically everything you need, in a much smaller building, making it ALOT quicker to get in and get out. Prices aren't much different either. Cashier's are friendly and the store was clean.”
“Tonight, I had to reach out to the Publix located in Punta Gorda for assistance. For privacy purposes I can't explain the issue. Only that my mother was very sick and needed items from the store. Frustrated with delivery services due it being a late hour. I had help from an assistant manager Joey. He was able to help me come up with a solution. I just had to write a review that he was a life saver. I truly appreciated his kindness and help. Thank god for people like him!”
“Impressed with this Walmart, comparing it to my hometown Walmart. They even display clothing and had quite the variety.
We used the grocery Pick up a few times, pepper jack cheese was moldy, so I throw it away. Otherwise, staff and product was fine. Staff being very pleasant.”
“Came in today to get some household essentials and when I walked in I was greeted by a very nice woman. Continued my shopping and as I was going to check out she came and assisted me right away. Very kind, personable, with an amazing personality. She treated me very kindly. Even assisted with loading my cart with my items. I have to say this was a great experience and she made my day much better. (She is from Kentucky, I don’t remember her name) However, I have to say that she deserves recognition. Simple customer service skills like hers go a long way. Thank you for making my day with your kindness! ?”
“Homemade Salsa by owners was incredible. Always that stash of emergency things u need but dont want to drive to get it. Incredibly convenient even if theres a bit of a markup”
“Despite the run on toilet paper and other paper products/ necessities, there were still good deals to be found. Staff was courteous and helpful also. Store was clean and organized with all the items in stock.”

“Friendly staff, not the cleanest local & a U turn is required before turning in if your heading north but they took major damage from Hurricane Ian & the Rd works not their fault. Always good gas prices as well.?”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.5-Star Review – Dollar General, Punta Gorda
Dollar General in Punta Gorda is a handy store with great prices and a lot of variety. You can find groceries, cleaning supplies, snacks, household items, and seasonal goods without paying big-store prices. The location is convenient and it’s easy to get in and out quickly.
The only downsides: the store can get a little messy at times, with items on the floor or shelves not fully stocked, and the cashier wasn’t very helpful during my visit. A smile goes a long way, and a little more customer service would make a big difference.
Even with those issues, it’s still a useful spot, especially when you need something fast. The deals are good and the store has most of what you’re looking for. I will continue shopping here, and with just a little more attention from staff, it could easily be a full 5-star location.”
“Went to deli last minute with a big sub order and Stacey and Donald handled it with no problem even with the lunch rush. Stacey kept a smile and was very sweet. Will definitely be back.”
