5276 FL-46, SanfordWe don't have dogs or cats, but my daughter has 2 rats and 2 hamsters. They are considered exotic pets so I searched near me for a vet that would see them. I originally had an appt at a different vet and the appt time ended up not working out and I am so glad because I found B.E.S.T. VETS. I am particular on what experience has taught me and wouldn't normally choose a vet in a grocery/shopping strip, but after the first phone call with them I could tell they were different.
They saw me within a few days and they removed a mass from both rats. (mammary tumors). The Vet went over different options for me, weighed costs, potential issues, etc.
The rats made it through surgery and the healing went great as well. So glad I got to do that for my daughters lil friends.

600 West 27th Street, SanfordThe best vet I have ever come across. If you care more about a pretty office and fancy equipment, this place may not be for you. But if you truly care about your pet, this doctor is an angel on earth.
He saved my dog’s life. I have a Pomeranian that was having severe breathing issues. I spent 3 days at an emergency pet hospital and over $6,000, only to be told she had a collapsing trachea and needed a surgery that would cost another $5,000.
I decided to get a second opinion and drove over an hour because so many people recommended this vet. Within 5 minutes, he diagnosed her correctly, gave her a $40 shot, and by the time we got home, she was completely back to herself.
Recently, I brought in my second Pomeranian, who had been limping and “faking” a leg injury (yes, really 😅). Once again, within minutes, the doctor explained everything thoroughly, gave her the treatment she needed, her and I both been running around happy ever since.
Honestly, even if he charged thousands more, he would still be the only vet I trust, and I would pay it without thinking twice. It feels impossible to get this level of clear diagnosis, honesty, and effective treatment anywhere else nowadays.
This is the kind of vet that reminds you why experience and genuine care matter more than anything else. I am absolutely devastated that he’s retiring. There will never be another like him.

I have been hesitant to take my dog to the vet after a series of bad experiences with numerous vets but it was obvious that the staff cares here. They were completely competent and discussed the options for tests to be done without pressure. I chose to do everything suggested because they took time to explain it and let me know the pricing up front which was reasonable. My only concern is that I didn’t feel there was much time to talk about my puppy’s needs or answer my questions with the actual doctor. For what you pay, I expected a little more time and attention. Any time I found myself in Sanford, I made it a point to add Palate to my day and when they opened a location in Debary, I all but set up shop there. Delicious drinks (for me, a sweet dessert latte kind of girl and adultier adults who like their coffee straight to the point), homemade syrups, and a mission worth supporting.

Clay, Peyton, and Todd took care of our party and were on top of everything the entire time. We wanted for nothing! They were attentive and made sure everything was taken care of, but never overbearing, which made the whole evening that much more enjoyable.
The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the atmosphere was perfect for a celebration. And the warm s’mores cookies at the end, SO good!
We had such a great time and I would 100% recommend for an event, or just a night out!
