“The experience was very satisfactory. I live in Orlando and we took our Gatico to Tampa. Wellswood Midtown Animal Hospital was recommended to us and the trip to Tampa was 100% worth it.
All the staff is super loving, we were present at all times to care for our cat. The Doctor explained to us each thing he had to do to the cat and then explained the results to us. Dr. G and her team at South Tampa Veterinary Care are truly the best!!

I first went to STVC about two years ago with my sister’s dog when things were not looking good. Dr. G was thorough, attentive, understanding, realistic, and incredibly patient with all of our questions and concerns. She took exceptional care of him and allowed us to do everything we possibly could. Although he did not make it, we were grateful for the compassion and dignity she showed every step of the way.

After that experience, I began bringing my own dog to Dr. G. Recently, my sweet girl’s kidney levels were dangerously elevated, and again, it wasn’t looking promising. Dr. G walked me through every concern, set realistic expectations, and still gave me hope that we could try every appropriate course of action. She answered all of my calls and emails, went above and beyond, and made sure my girl and I had everything we needed to give her a fighting chance.

The front office staff and technicians are equally wonderful. They always made my little princess feel safe and comfortable and even let her stay in her stroller during hospital days to reduce her stress. That level of kindness matters more than words can express.

Today, Coco’s kidney levels have dropped dramatically, and she is slowly but steadily returning to her usual self at a “young” almost 14-year-old Yorkie.

I also want to thank Dr. Coons for thoughtfully writing a food prescription for my girl without me even asking after overhearing my conversation about how difficult it was to find something she would eat. That kind of attentiveness and care is rare.

Both doctors are dedicated and love what they do and that is incredibly apparent by their work ethic. They genuinely care not only about their patients but about the fur parents, too. You will not find a better veterinary team in Tampa.

When our previous vet found a potentially cancerous lump we were told it would take them almost a week to provide us an estimate let alone do the procedure…I called beach park that afternoon and that had our boy in the next morning took care of everything. “We are so, so happy we switched to VCA. The difference between them and our previous vet is really like night and day.

The atmosphere at the clinic and in each room is so comfortable, all of the staff and Dr. Williams have been so nice and helpful with our senior girl. There's plenty of space for you to sit with your cat and hold them which really helped us to keep her calm. They have a large selection of specialty foods for your cats dietary needs and if your cat doesn't like what you buy they accept returns!

We've had to wait over a month for an appointment with other vets but they were able to get us an appointment within a week. Dr. Williams even caught some things that our previous vet overlooked / did not inform us of. I really appreciate how communicative they are with you outside of appointments, and their app is a wonderful touch.

The price of care can be a bit expensive, but you are paying for the best quality feline veterinary care I have personally experienced in my 18 years of cat ownership. If you go to their website you can get a free first visit voucher! They do offer a care plan which is just under $100 a month - for our older girl who needs a lot of monitoring and care, it made the most sense, and we definitely feel like it's worth it.

If you're looking for a vet who will listen to your concerns and treat your cat gently and proactively, THIS is where you should go.”

Dr. Borderieux regularly called throughout the day to keep us updated on her prognosis. “I have been coming here ever since I was a child, and my mom had ever since she was a teenager. We have brought ferrets, dogs, and birds and always received such great, caring service.

Last year, I adopted my first dog on my own, and of course there was no other vet I’d take her to. Not even two months ago, I brought her in to get her annual vaccines when Dr. Brooks noticed some lumps in her mammary glands. It is something that I probably never would have noticed on my own. He walked us through what it could be, as well as what we would have to do to test them. With the probability of it being cancer, and with my financial situation, I was heartbroken and preparing for the worst, but the entire team handled this situation with so much grace and they were extremely understanding and able to work with us.

All of her diagnostic tests and surgery were done in just a few weeks without any complications. We got her stitches removed yesterday and I am so so thankful for Dr. Brooks and the entire team here. Sticky has been doing so well, and the cancer was caught before it had the chance to progress. I can’t even explain the relief I feel for getting to have more time with my baby. We owe it all to everyone here for catching it and removing it with such swiftness and care. I could not recommend them enough.”

Example being I took my dog to a ER vet one day and they sent the visit information here, to my primary vet, and they called the next day asking how my dog was doing and if I needed anything from them. Same thing when my dog needed to see a special eye vet. I scheduled a procedure with the eye vet, and the next day I get a text asking how everything went with it from tampa vet. I just refilled a prescription for the 1st time and I was able to submit that request online with no issues.
