“I was passing through Waldo on my way to Tampa for my son’s soccer tournament and had card trouble directly in front of Clyde’s at 4:45pm on a Friday afternoon. I pulled in, car shaking, every possible engine error code popping up on the screen of my 2016 Yukon XL. The gentleman working one of the stalls came out and kindly helped me through a stressful scenario. He ran some tests, diagnosed the problem, reconnected the loose part, and saved me and the kids from an overnight stay and tow truck expense. This was all done without an appointment or notice. And it was closing time. Much gratitude. Appreciate you guys!”

He has done differential work, main seal, and flywheel replacement... And other things also, and all have turned out perfect.
He had the parts store give him a wrong part that couldn't be seen until install that caused a timing issue..... He pulled the transmission again to fix the issue with no cost to me and evevln picked me up at my home after.
It is rare these days to find a mechanic with character and a conscience..... He is one of them 👍

“I don’t usually leave reviews, but this shop genuinely deserves one. I brought them my 2005 Chevy Colorado for a full engine rebuild, and from start to finish they were honest, patient, and treated me with respect the entire time. They kept me updated throughout the whole process, answered every question I had, and never once made me feel like I was being taken advantage of.
And trust me, I know I probably got a little buggy at times after waiting months and constantly checking in, but they were always patient and kind with me anyway. They never acted annoyed, never brushed me off, and always took the time to explain things honestly.
After the rebuild they even caught a transmission tail shaft seal leak and a weak belt tensioner before giving the truck back to me, which saved me from bigger problems later. Most shops would’ve ignored it or waited for me to find out the hard way. These guys actually care about the work they do.
What stood out to me the most was their honesty, patience, and the trust they showed me. That level of understanding is rare nowadays, and it meant a lot to me.
When I finally heard my truck running again after 7 months, it sounded incredible. Smooth, strong, and healthy. You can tell these guys take real pride in their work.
I can honestly say this is the kind of shop that earns lifelong customers. I’ll always come back to them and I’ll recommend them to anyone who wants honest work done right.

Hugos is by far the BEST shop I have been to. If you are hesitant about a shop here in town, go to Hugos. They are willing to work with you and fix the issue without trying to upsell, and their rates are very reasonable compared to other local places. Not to mention, the staff are incredibly friendly and open to answering questions about any service, even something unrelated. I wish more people were like them! I really appreciate the work they did.”

“We are so lucky these guys are there! We were passing through town on a road trip and the starter on our car died when we stopped for lunch. Fortunately, a knowledgeable local helped us out. (That is an understatement also, the guy is a saint. Thanks again Eric!). After exploring a couple options, he ended up towing us to this shop. We had just missed the cut off for them to order a starter and install it that day, but there offered to install it if we could get ahold of one. Our helpful local made it happen without even asking for the money up front. It was later in the day when we got it to the shop and it felt like our situation had all the makings to be taken advantage of and over charged. (No one there made us feel that way, that scenario has just been in too many movies!). It was the exact opposite. They installed the starter even though it meant staying after hours, at no additional charge. They charged a fair rate, and pointed out a couple issues that would need addressing when we got home. They never pressed us to leave the car and let them take care of it, as they were not urgent, but also wanted us to be aware. The people of Starke, FL are lucky to have this shop around! They would be my go to shop if I lived there. Thanks again AG shop!”
