“What an amazing collection! They have a bit of everything here. One can easily spend hours looking through shelf after shelf. Also they have cats, definitely a plus.”
“This is an Atlanta metaphysical staple. This store has been a resource for all things “alternative” for decades.I love their wall of crystals. It has all kinds of stones and crystals in various sizes and prices.Their book selection is really good. You can loose track of time looking around. They have Tibetan singing bowls, tarot cards, meditation cards, wands, jewelry, etc.The staff if friendly and helpful. They have a couple of cats lying on chairs so if you’re not a cat person, there’s that.”
“I am so happy with my experience at this bookstore. I came here after a visit to Emory’s Carlos museum just to browse and came out with 3 out of print history books that have been on my list to read for a long time. Everything was reasonably priced and the selection was top tier!! The store was also very well organized. All the staff members were incredibly kind and made us feel very welcome. I cannot wait to come back here, it’s worth a good drive! 11/10, would recommend!!!”
“My experience here was amazing and I’m Glad that there is stores still like this that is open. As I start my spiritual battles, the amount of bibles and other tools here is something I can rely on to seek the truth and Wanda was extremely helpful and friendly that it felt right at home and the presence here is something I can say emotionally and spiritually happy and amazed!!! Look forward to my next visit whenever I need it !”
“I've been to this location in Decatur many times. A lovely place to buy from, with a good selection and good prices, but - and this is a biggie, I woud never bring in books are items to sell to them. What the store offers you for your items is laughable. I feel so sorry for people at the sell counter who bring in boxes of items, only to be offered ten cents or a dollar, knowing that the store is going to turn right around and sell those same items at Ebay / collector prices. Always buy from them, never sell to them.”
“I'd been driving past A Cappella for a few years now and had always meant to go in. Today was my first time visiting and I had an amazing experience! Both of the employees working were kind and helpful, with clear knowledge and passion for all things literature. Great selection of new and used books, and overall a wonderful, inviting little store.I'll absolutely be back!”
“The staff was so friendly and helpful!! There was only 1 of the book we wanted left in the store and the staff helped us, making sure we found it. Thank you so much!”
“Brought my 2 girls here today cause they're always looking for another interesting book to read! very friendly environment, and always finding what we're looking for ?”
“Love this bookstore! It seems like someone's front porch but the bookstore is cozy and has a great collection of books. They have all genres of books, stickers, Agnes Scott Merch, and Knick knacks. There is ample parking in the back of the store. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They carry a superb collection of books on "Politics of Place", "Women and Race", and "Children's Books". It is a reader's heaven and a perfect place to buy a gift. The books are moderately priced. They have month-wide events for readings and discussions. I highly recommend bringing yourself here with a cup of coffee and kindling your thoughts with some amazing reads.”
“Amazing book shop! The staff are magical elves with book knowledge as their superpower. They create such a wonderful space for kids and families. The camps and programs are phenomenal!”
“There was an excellent selection the staff I interacted with was very informative and very patient. I did not check out the available drinks but other than that it was clean and well-appointed”
“They have an amazing selection and friendly staff!
I’m always on the lookout for independent bookstores and this one does not disappoint! I spent what ended up being a little over 2 hours browsing the store yesterday and still feel like I missed a section or two!
Every time I visit is a new experience because they are frequently changing the displays and featured books to keep things fresh. I most love their horror section. It’s larger than a lot of other bookstores I visit (some don’t even have one!).
They also have these little notes on some books with a review or fun fact about them. It adds a little extra fun to see them while browsing.
The only complaint I would have is that their used book prices are slightly higher than a couple other used bookstores I’ve been to. However, it’s not a crazy big difference and their used books are always in great condition. I’d also rather spend that money with an independent bookstore than a soulless corporation like Barnes and Noble or Amazon.
They also offer trading in your books to get credit towards the used books. I’ve never taken advantage of this (because I’m a book dragon and just hoard them), but it’s great that it’s an option!
The staff was friendly, engaging, and patient as I meandered my way around their store up until 1 minute before they closed (even still, they didn’t even try to rush me, I just happened to see the time on my phone and realized they were probably waiting on me ??♀️).
I’ll definitely be visiting again when I find the space to add on to my hoard ?”
“Lovely Christian book store with a large assortment of non secular books and reading materials. They also carry holistic and natural foods; dry goods and frozen.”
“I walked in very unaware of the size and selection they would have. And I was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend for both heavily book readers or those new readers.”
“Tons of books, a bit disheveled though…maybe after a few visits I would feel more comfortable but unfortunately I was only visiting. If you are a paperback fan there is a pretty massive selection (much better than the hardback for fiction anyway)”
“That's a beautiful bookstore! The salesperson knows her books and authors! It's amazing she was able to find an author for me Devon Franklin from my very poor description of a book I read! Lol ! Thanks”
“What a nice and organized bookstore. Perfect if you're trying to find just the right book gift for a child in your life. The staff is super helpful too. Support a local bookstore!!”

“I have been blessed by LOMM in various significant ways: • gaining a better understanding of the importance of Passover in the life and ministry of Jesus through Murray Tilles's Jesus in the Passover presentation. • having the Bible come to life in a new way through Murray, Alana, and Anna Beth's insights into the places of the biblical events through the LOMM tour of Israel. • capturing a fresh vision for reaching people with the Gospel, especially the Jewish people through Murray's example and teaching ministry. • the staff of LOMM have enhanced my pastoral ministry and blessed Midway Community Church immensely!”
“I thought this was a really cute and awesome bookstore. What drew me in was the Atlanta puzzles and the selection of books were right up my alley! They had some gorgeous Atlanta skyline art and I grabbed a cute magnet. Great spot for touristy gift or souvenirs and I also grabbed a book for the plane ride home. They had a section for "blind date with a book" which was cute and original.”
“Love this bookshop! They have a varied selection of every genre, particularly different authors of different backgrounds, and the owners take so much care in making recommendations. Kids’ books have recommendations by other kids - highly recommend!”
“This place with such a vibe!!!! Truly a lovely third space to meet beautiful (outward and inward) and informed Black people. I find ppl congregate here on a common front for true equality and forward thinking consciousness/ change. I overheard and got invited to many beautiful conversations here and hung out here for quite some time!! The shop is placed in a historic part of Atlanta and it really ties in well with the surrounding areas. It’s honestly my favorite bookstore in the city that I had the pleasure of going to for my first time in Atlanta, and I’ll never forget the experience. I had the pleasure of also meeting the owner. She was the sweetest person I could ever meet, as well as her friends! They really welcomed me with open arms, so much free knowledge to partake on the center table, as well as rare books and media that are fair priced. I got a shirt and tote bag too!!”

“Went to an amazing event this weekend. Was the first time I've ever been inside the ACU campus. The parking was adjacent to the campus building we were headed to so no issues with parking. But even on the weekends it was $12! A lot! Also, the system did not read my ticket printed so I had to pay $24 to get out as they charge $24 for a lost ticket but the security help kept disconnecting the call so I had no choice. Staff - they had some CAU staff on site for the event but mostly event staff were present. Atmosphere - now the building itself definitely have HBCU vibes!! Loved everything about it! Nothing seemed dirty or too outdated. Everything worked in the bathrooms and the technology supplies were updated. I appreciated the school hosting the event and look forward to visiting for other events as well. Definitely recommend and look forward to returning. Thanks Brittney”

“I felt an amazing energy upon entering this shop. Danielle helped me (so sorry if I spelled her name wrong!) and happily answered all my questions. She even gave me a piece of her own palo santo because they ran out of it. I’m extremely happy with my moonstone necklace, sterling silver ring and incense. I will absolutely be back soon!”
“The ultimate college bookstore in the best location. Starbucks downstairs. Snacks and Emory logo souvenirs, wearables, and gifts upstairs. 3 minute walk to local eateries. Yes, the books are great too.”
“I went to this college for my sister and the sweatshirt I got was very nice. This store also has a variety of clothes to choose from, snacks, school supplies, cups, stickers, parent t-shirts, baby clothes, jewelry, soda, etc... A wonderful store”
“I have been shopping at the Cathedral bookstore for nearly as long as they have existed. I love this store! The staff is always kind, patient, helpful and peaceful. Their buyer is very thoughtful and purchases exquisite reasonably priced jewelry, candles, stuffed animals, books and other items that are not only appropriate for Christians, but for anyone who is looking for a lovely gift for themselves or others. In recent years they have expanded to include a wonderful Hispanic section of spiritual books and other paraphernalia that I have often seen in Mexico and thought at the time, "How lovely." I recently discovered that they are also serving as the books store of Christ the King and have a wonderful Catholic selection. If you want to go to a non-hectic, peaceful, beautiful, privately owned gift /book store (there are that many left...too many chain stores!) with its own distinctive personality and a gracious staff...this is the place! I have found that nothing is overpriced here and I'm so grateful that they are still around. I pray they never close!”
“This is a really nice church if you like going somewhere where with a really large congregation. The staff was really nice and helpful. My son found the kids section underwhelming.”
“This is the best place to buy pens! I know but here verse office store, the quality of pen is way better than most. The owner is a nice lady, she also teaches calligraphy classes. I recommend coming here!”
