“Good Evening Family. I visited this location of Burlington for the first time today after viewing the movie, Mutiny, starring Jason Statham at the Cinemark movie theater. The Burlington is in the same shopping center as the movie theater. I enjoyed the movie. A nice, action flick. I visited Burlington today because I wanted to purchase some luggage for my trip. I watched everyone pulling their luggage when I was travelling to ATL and me struggling with mine. So I vowed, never again. I will be pulling my luggage like everyone else. My suitcase is so old, I have had it since I was 14 years old and so it is certainly time for a upgrade. There was a nice, young man at the front door and he was LOSS PREVENTION. I asked him where the luggage was and he pointed me in the right direction. When I saw the bag, I immediately decided to purchase it. It is GUESS luggage and I have already a GUESS backpack. So this is a match made in HEAVEN. I paid for the luggage by card and then I was on my merry way. Dorothy was the Burlington Associate who assisted me today. I was with Lisa, my cousin. Then I departed for LIsa's house. Have a good night, workout, be active and mobile, fit and fabulous especially for people over the age of 50 years. Plenty of parking in the large shopping center plus there are many available handicapped spaces.”
The Cincinnati-based supermarket giant will open about 110 new stores in fast-growing markets by 2029 and introduce three updated store formats, executives told investors Oct. 20 at the company’s Investor Update in New York. Kroger already runs about 2,700 stores in 35 states. The formats come in three sizes, a bit like small, medium and large, matched to each market. Mary Ellen Adcock, Kroger’s executive vice president and chief merchant and marketing officer, walked through the lineup.
Walmart shoppers want a head start on the holidays, and money explains a lot of it. Some 44% of respondents call affording the holidays their top stressor, and 61% say holiday costs shape their shopping mood. Asked what would make the season easier, 70% picked lower prices and 57% picked more deals and promotions. Convenience ranks lower: 30% want one-stop shopping across categories, and 20% want faster delivery.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Aldi is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the United States with an ambitious plan to open more than 180 new stores across 31 states in 2026, pushing its footprint closer to 3,200 stores by the end of 2028.
