I wanted to take a moment to recognize Bettie W. for the outstanding service she gave me during my recent visit.
I walked in with a rapid-fire list—an item, a size, and a quick explanation of the event I was attending. Bettie listened patiently, asked a couple of quick questions, and immediately went into action. After a few determined trips down the aisle, she somehow returned with the perfect item—and then the exact size.
Her patience, attentiveness, and sense of urgency made the whole experience easy and even fun. Great service like that stands out.
Honestly, Bettie is Marshall’s unicorn—rare, impressive, and exactly the kind of person every customer hopes to run into while shopping.

“I had an incredible salon experience at JCPenney on Sunday, March 29, 2026, with Ms. Anita. After taking out my twists, I wasn’t up for washing my own hair and remembered they had a full-service salon—and I’m so glad I went. Ms. Anita was amazing, bringing decades of knowledge and care when it comes to natural hair. In addition she even introduced me to some new products that I would have never considered using.
The only minor drawback, which has nothing to do with her, is that the salon could benefit from updating their steamers, as they are antiquated and don’t effectively steam in my opinion. Other than that, the atmosphere was a whole vibe, clean, and I’m already looking forward to coming back in three months. Came in as a stranger, left as a friend! Thanks again, Ms. Anita!
