Bangkok Haus Restaurant Helen
707 Edelweiss Strasse, HelenWhile Spice 55 is a staple on the main road, not far away is another great Asian restaurant with plant-based options. Both are very good but unique in certain ways. Where as Spice 55 is bright and more traditionally fancy, Bangkok Haus is more private and mood-lit - offering a cozier feel that is a different but equally fun choice for date night. The food at Bangkok Haus is great and they have a ton of stir fry and noodle dishes to add tofu to. I typically go with the Pad Basil with Fried Tofu. Although the restaurant can be harder to find, there is a ton of parking and it's one of the best restaurants in the area. I'd recommend Bangkok Haus for anyone who wants a fun, romantic dinner in North Georgia that is a bit off the main touristy section.

Nacoochee Village Tavern & Pizzeria
7275 S Main St, HelenAmazing pizza!
I loved the speciality pizza! We tried two different ones and they both were amazing!
The staff was good, but the atmosphere could be a lil better and well maintained!
You can still go and enjoy the pizza, before you enter helen!

Hofbrauhaus Restaurant
9001 N Main St, HelenAbsolutely amazing place. It's the closest I've been to revisiting Germany myself. The food was sooo good. Schnitzel was On. Freaking. Point. If your ever in Helen, please stop by. They're worth it.

Bodensee
64 Munich Strasse, HelenI had the trout, and it was absolutely amazing. Others in our group ordered the big platter and were a little disappointed, but the staff did mention they’re in the middle of remodeling, so I’m chalking it up to that. They’ve eaten there before with no complaints, so I’m confident it was just an off moment.

Hofer's Bakery and Cafe

Muller's Famous Fried Cheese Cafe

King Ludwig Biergarten
8660 N Main St, HelenKing Ludwig Biergarten is one of those places that really captures the charm of Helen with its relaxed, European style atmosphere. The setting is beautiful, especially if you get a seat outside near the river. It feels lively but still comfortable enough to sit back and enjoy your time.
The vibe is very casual and social, with long tables and a classic biergarten feel. It is a great place to hang out with friends or just enjoy the surroundings, especially in the evening when the lights come on and the place feels even more vibrant.
As a vegetarian, the options are a bit limited but still decent. The giant pretzel is a solid choice and pairs well with the overall experience. There are a few other simple items you can work with, but it is more about light bites than a full meal.
Parking in Helen can take a little patience, especially during weekends or peak tourist seasons. There are paid lots nearby, so plan a few extra minutes to find a spot.
No reservations needed for most visits since it is a casual setup, but it can get crowded, so arriving a bit early helps you grab a good seat, especially outdoors.
One tip, try to time your visit around sunset if possible. Sitting by the river with good weather really makes the experience stand out.
Overall, it is a great spot to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and soak in the unique Bavarian style charm of Helen.

Chattahoochee Dog Haus
8016 S Main St #3620, HelenI would eat here again but might get something different. Decent hot dogs - personally the buns were thicker than I prefer. The “cheese” in the dog-dog was what seemed like cheese whiz in consistency and taste.

Old Bavaria Inn Restaurant
8619 N Main St, HelenGood place for a beer and pretzel or lunch. Smaller than some of the other German restaurants but has that old times feel. Beer is cold!
I do hate that you have to pay $10 to park in town regardless if you are there 30 min. or all day long.
