“Since I last visited the store, the check-out process has changed from a tradional cashier to self-checkout stations. Some may assume that the customer service experience is lessened with self-checkout, and with many retailers that may be true. I was very pleasantly surprised that my check-out experience today had the opposite effect. The staff member on duty (unfortunately, I did not get her name. She was able to walk among the three open self-checkout stations, and assist with potential vouchers, help the customer bag tbeir purchases while the customer was still scanning items for purchase, andd possible savings opportunities. For me today, the Michael's associate verified that self-checkout does not have to mean a lesser customer satisfaction experience.”
