“I come here every week because the produce stays better for so much longer than the produce I get at other stores. I also started getting my cheese and deli meats here, as well as some of their rolling variety of frozen goods. They often have frozen schnitzel, which is my favorite extra protein on days when things didn't go quite as planned.
I love that they have carts with coins, because it really promotes people actually bringing them BACK so they can get their quarter back. People either love it or hate it, but I think it's a brilliant idea.
This IS a store where you have to bring your own bags, but they will often also have boxes that you can use to put your stuff in (kind of like at Costco or BJs). They also sell recyclable paper bags, and reusable bags.
The bathrooms are also always clean, which is something I very much appreciate. Each one only has the capacity for one person at a time, so you may have to wait if there's a lot of people. I suggest coming in the afternoon, or during a weekday if you can.
Everything is so cheap too, which I love because it helps me get out of my comfort zone more often. I feel less bad "wasting" something because I don't like it since it's never too expensive. I've found a lot of new things I like because of this, and as somebody who struggles with eating new things I can't recommend it highly enough!

“By far one of the best DGs in the area in my opinion. Although the staff can be oblivious to what they have at times, they’re nice and never had a problem. “Although the Food Depot on Turner Lake Road doesn't carry Goya barley, the manager tried to get FD Headquarters to send some. Have since found that Barley can be bought at Publix on Alcovy Road for a reasonable price.”

“This is my favorite Dollar General. It almost always has what I need. The employees are friendly and helpful.There is often a line in the evening when people are shopping after work. But they'll open a 2nd checkout to speed things up.”

“I like Dollar General stores because there is one almost anywhere you go. However, I feel, because I go frequently to DG stores, they need more employees so someone can be putting up stock almost all of the time in.order for shelves to be properly stocked. Many times I've been to my local DG store and shelves were practically empty but there were carts all over the store full of products that needed to be put on them and even in the coolers for items like Milk, Ice Cream, etc, that shouldn't be left out for any length of time and I must say that on more than 2 occasions I've gotten spoiled cooler products and I feel it's due to it sitting too long before employees had a chance to put them away. Dollar General stores are a wonderful chain of stores, and they fulfill a very much needed service to just about every community in our state of Georgia. From what I've observed myself most, if not all of the stores not only can use another person to help fill the needs of the store, but the needs and wants of their customers. After all, is it not the customer who keeps each store in business? I, and many others will most likely keep going to our local DG, but for how long. Also, the coolers in our local store have had issues to the point they are shut down and have been for several weeks, like 6 or 8 at least. Just saying. Paul”

“It is the only store that is open until 11: 00 which is really good but with that being said these shelves are never stopped they never have the produce food that you need always out of milk. The staff is always courteous and friendly and is willing to help if you need it.”

I'm still in training getting my CBL but learning the register too and when I help return items to the shelves, it better helps me figure out where things are so I can direct customers in the right direction. This is my first job; so I'm pretty nervous right now but slowly getting into the swing of things. Can't wait to return back to work this weekend!
