“After a lifetime in another state, I was new to Savannah, and after having driven my 2013 Hyundai Sonata over 3000 miles to get here and with over 200,000 miles on the odometer, I knew that my car would need some tender, loving care and maintenance, but, like so many, I was terrified of not having a qualified auto specialist that I could trust. Maybe that’s because I came from a large metropolitan city and wasn’t used to the small town service that places like Skidaway auto repair provide.
Pat runs the place, and upon meeting him I was delighted by his demeanor and his patience at explaining things to me so clearly and simply. I obviously don’t know much about cars, but he didn’t take advantage of that. In fact, they told me exactly what was wrong, how much it would cost, and educated me on what kind of things other mechanics, less scrupulous mechanics, would tell me and charge me, and how easily I could be taken advantage of. He made me feel like a relative was looking out for me. He even replaced a burnt out brake light for me, FOR FREE, on the spot, without waiting.
Here’s an example. My check engine had been on for quite a while, and he hooked up his magic gizmo to my car and within 30 seconds told me that a gas tank sensor was faulty and responsible for the check engine light. To replace the part with labor would cost about $300. However, by simply replacing my gas cap ($3 at any auto part shop) and not minding a few “false“ fill up click-offs at the gas tank, I could live with the check engine light and save $300.
This was on my FIRST visit to his shop!
Now, tell me, in this day and age, with the economy hurting, who does that?!

“Abercorn facility is a great U-haul location. They have everything you need for a move. Staff is friendly and courteous. Adrian handled our rental and was great. Truck was clean and ran well. Very affordable way to move yourself. Renting the appliance hand truck is a Must Have for heavy items.”
“The rental location is inside Home Depot near the contractor loading area. You can park in the back if the parking lot, there are other trucks there, but be sure to take a picture of the mileage and fuel to help the wonderful staff.”

“The lady that operates this particular location. Was very helpful, polite and very pleasant. I got there right as she was locking the door to go home for the evening. Because of the professional and polite person she is. She unlocked the door and stayed late to make sure I got in my 15 ft box truck that I had rented.
As a side note. U-Haul customer service on the phone was absolutely no help to me! I called several times, and was transferred to several different people! Terrible experience with U-Haul overall!! Had several issues! I could not get the answers I needed nor the help!

“There may be some issues like cracked pavement and some oil but the people who work here have always treated me with kindness. When my girlfriend had a tire fail and pulled in, the man working there made sure we both were alright, had food/water, and would be okay until we could have Zip (I have another review of him) come out. I’ve seen some people say the prices aren’t great/it’s not special but I think it’s still a nice place to stop.”
