“This my original credit union and I highly recommend it. They have updated their procedures and equipment over the years. The staff is friendly and efficient and don't forget to get their Maebo chips to support the staff in their midnight madness walk against cancer fundraiser.”

“I help a kupuna with her banking here. Although it is very difficult to communicate by phone, they are so willing to help in person. Both the tellers and other personnel have gone beyond their roles to assist us with various issues. Kupuna are targets of scammers and we have often changed strategies to keep her account safe and secure. They have called me on several occasions when there are suspicious activities with her account. I have so much aloha for their kokua.”

“This scenic area is known as the US war memorial park (for the Viet Nam and Korean wars) --- located just across the US federal building complex in downtown Hilo. You can observe the US federal building in the center background, as originally constructed around 1916. The US federal building as shown in this photo resembles the US White House, somewhat. Right across the side-street from the US federal building on 154 Waianuenue Avenue, is a downtown bank called "HomeStreet Bank" -- Hilo Branch. This bank handles both business accounts and personal accounts for local banking customers. Business owners and downtown Hilo residents find it very convenient to handle their postal box needs, then walk across the side-street to HomeStreet Bank !
HomeStreet Bank is a Seattle, Washington banking corporation. This location used to be Pioneer Savings Bank during the 1990's. Most of the banks in this area have been shut down.”

“Natasha is the best! Hold on to her, give her a raise, and some kuddos!! This woman worked with me via email, and my husband in person. That is a challenge in itself. Her service is superior! Thank you Natasha!!”
“Great atmosphere, staff was very kind! Monique went above and beyond answering all of our questions and made sure we were getting the lowest rate for our loan. Also really appreciate how this bank helps the community via their resource center. This is a bank that is truly there to help the community, they have the best rates in town. Mahalo Nui!”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10 stars if I could!)
I’ve been a loyal customer and small business owner with American Savings Bank for over 20 years, and in all that time I’ve never had a single issue, until recently, when I went through one of the most stressful experiences of my life. I was robbed, and along with large amounts of cash, all my banking information was stolen from my place of business.
Enter Assistant Vice President Kathreen Roby, an absolute angel in disguise. From the moment I sat down with her, she treated me with kindness, patience, and genuine care. She spent hours helping me get everything sorted, walking me through every detail, making sure I felt safe and supported. She went above and beyond, far beyond what anyone could expect.
After an incredibly difficult 24 hours, I walked into that bank feeling shaken and defeated, and walked out feeling seen, cared for, and even inspired. Kathreen not only helped me get my finances back in order, she helped restore my faith in humanity. Her compassion, professionalism, and warmth turned a horrible day into a moment of gratitude and connection.
If every business had a Kathreen, the world would be a better place. She’s a shining example of what true customer service looks like, genuine, empathetic, and human.
Thank you, Kathreen. You didn’t just help me with my banking, you helped me heal. ❤️”

“I've done business with numerous banks in Hawaii during my life time and I never saw a bank with as quick services CPB provides especially during the banking transactions before in the past by any other bank. The personnel are friendly, knowledgeable, professional and well trained. On top of that CPB is the first bank that has never questioned me with why I was withdrawing funds from my account when withdrawing larger amounts. Questions like that is offensive and disrespectful. Although I've heard other banks use the Federal Government as an excuse, however it is still wrong. Im sure banks wouldn't like the idea too if customers would ask where do they live at or what do they spend their money on. I am so happy I do my banking at Central Pacific Bank. I highly recommend them. Good Job CPB!”
“The employees at this branch are really kind and helpful. When I encountered a major difficulty with the ATM machine, they were extremely competent and knew exactly how to help me quickly.”

“If money doesn't grow on trees, why do banks have branches? I mean, I'm not complaining--in fact, I quite like that First Hawaiian Bank expanded to have more convenient branches around town in recent years! Not the least of which being their Waiakea branch, located right next to Prince Kuhio Plaza where the old Blockbuster used to be (the building was empty for a while...). Given that FHB's main branch in Hilo tends to be very busy at most times throughout the day, having another option nearby is always welcome. The Waiakea branch tends to be very convenient in my experience as well. They're rarely as busy as the main branch, always have way more than enough parking, and have tellers available to help in person as well as virtually if their on-site staff are occupied. Also, by virtue of its convenient location, you're allowed to avoid the craziness of driving downtown, which is almost reason enough by itself if ever you were on the fence about swinging by the Waiakea branch instead of its larger counterpart. With all that being said, I don't really think you can go wrong with either of the locales, but it really is nice to have more options these days. Especially once that don't really cost you anything experience-wise and even provide added conveniences. Don't hesitate to hit them up if you need to do a little banking and are in the area. I don't think you'll find any dropoff in quality.”
“been banking here for years love that they greet you upon entering and most of the tellers know you by name love the personalized service and the bonus open on saturdays”
“Kay-Leigh at the Hilo branch is such a gem! She went above and beyond to help me and stay on top of the process to close my late father’s account. Mahalo Nui Kay-Leigh!!”
