“I think ALL phlebotomists deserve a hand for what they do. Its not always appreciated because we dislike being poked right? PLUS, I'm a tough draw. Frequently takes two pokes sometimes as many as FOUR! By then the poor 1st phlebotomist (with best intentions) usually resort to calling that one with the super powers, xray vision to find my hiding, rolling vein! Almost always leads to using butterfly on my hand but I never ask..I just allow them to do their job. One phlebotomist was so funny, she said..tell them "go center, go deep"! Sounds kinda like football terms to me!! I listened and thats what I tell them. One phlebotomist said she listened to that and admitted.." I went in blind" ...as in blind faith? She couldn't feel any vein. She GOT IT 1st crack!! She said you oughta tatoo that spot! 1st time at this JCCH branch. It was great despite being shorthanded by 1 person I was still in & out in less than 30 min When you exit elevators Turn right Head up the stairs (going towards beretania) its on the left Friendly, efficient, great service! Kahala was good too But this one is closer.”

“We came here for a PT appointment for my aunty the other day. It has been several years since I've visited this clinic and much has changed. For instance, while there might be a little less parking, it's way easier to get around the parking lot now. As I'm sure that you can imagine, this matters a lot for older people which seems to be a decent amount of their clientele.

Second, the space is extremely clean and refreshing despite being right off of King St. No noise, trash, etc. The maintenance crew does a good job of keeping it clean and tidy.

Lastly, the services. Everyone here was nice and my aunty came back feeling refreshed and a bit less upset than she was earlier in the day. Probably because her back was sore and her PT helped her out. All smiles from then on out.”

“Wanted to have my popcorn ceiling tested for asbestos, even though my home was constructed in '92. Better safe than sorry, on the possible chance the developer used some old material. Hawai'i Analytical Laboratory (HAL) was an awesome discovery. I know there are kits you can mail to the mainland, but that's time I didn't want to waste or deal with something getting lost. I know there are some other places that can test on island, but they are not cheap. HAL has all their information online including their prices, which has options to get your results in 1-2 hours. I opted for same day as I didn't want to slow down my renovations. I also opted to drop it off at their dropbox location near the airport. There was a little miscommunication on the follow up, but the team corrected it and I got my results (negative, btw) in time. I highly recommend them!”

“I accidentally walked into the Diagnostic Lab instead of the Clinical Lab, which I was supposed to go to. The staff there were so sweet and kind and informed me that I needed to go to the Clinical Lab. Unfortunately, my experience at the Clinical Lab was the opposite. (The receptionist didn’t even greet me and spoke loudly about the test I was there for.) From now on, I will ask my doctor to refer me to the Diagnostic Lab if I need to take any clinical tests in the future.”

“Parking is a little hairy (avoid early hours when fasting customers are rushing to get in) and the elevator is a bit antiquated, but the employees at Kapahulu DLS make it my DLS branch of choice! Jocelyn is extremely friendly and professional. When my doctor's office forgot to call in the order, she quickly handled it. She didn't know how much pressure I was under and lifted my spirits with her smile and bubbly personality. Every other worker I've encountered here has displayed the utmost in courtesy and professionalism as well. :)”

“Top notch! Taking a polygraph can be an intimidating experience, Bill quickly put me at ease. He discussed the polygraph, did a thorough interview, and discussed the questions I would be asked. He made sure I was comfortable then hooked me up to the machine. The polygraph took about 30 minutes. My lawyer received a detailed report the next day. Make sure you arrive at your appointment time as there is no waiting area. I parked in the Walmart parking garage, it's about a 5 minute walk.”

“I've had my blood drawn here at least a dozen times, and every time I'm greeted with friendly service and am in-and-out quickly. All the phlebotomists here are the best. I rarely feel pain from the prick or get any bruising. They make an uncomfortable task as comfortable as possible. Results are usually uploaded to the portal quickly. I won't go anywhere else!”

“This is the best location of Clinical Labs bc of their convenient early hours and most importantly because of JASMINE!!

Jasmine is an incredibly valuable asset to Clinical Labs. Always friendly, professional most importantly, PAINLESS! Girl got skills!

Even my 5 yr old likes Jasmine. Jasmine always gets her blood drawn fast without traumatizing her.
My daughter has been to Clinical Labs at Kapiolani and Kahala Urgent Care, but every time it was a fail bc they can't properly find her vein or draw her blood (after multiple people took turns poking her arms).
We always end up at this Kahala Location in the end, and Jasmine gets it right and fast on the very first try.

Btw, I forgot to ask for your stylists info. I love your colorful hair!

“Had to do a drug screen test for a job, so I went to the lab at the airport location. Finding it was so easy and the parking area was big and free. Walked in 10 mins early for my appt. and they took me right in. The staff was friendly, BUT nobody was more nicer and funnier than Ikaika the technician. He was very patient and explained everything as drug testing has very strict protocal. We had a great conversation about being local and laughed about everything local. I am very sure all the staff are very talented concerning their work, but Ikaika took it one step further with his great aloha spirit. He definitly should be the Clinical Labs spokesperson.”

“Hawaii-based mobile phlebotomy service.
They travel around the island to perform specimen collections for populations that may have difficulty traveling to and from a typical clinic. Their staff are trained and credentialed accordingly.
I think this service is needed and every interaction so far has been comfortable and professional. If youre in need of mobile services, as an individual, group, company, etc, Id highly recommend!”

Beside bank fo hawaii, there is an entrance and it says Ala Moana Medical Building. Very clean and professional looking lobby. Go to the 5th floor, room number 510.
I was there for a drug test for my new employer and it was quick, not even 10mins. I don't get why they have a low rating, everyone was accommodating ang very nice. This is my first time going here too so I am impressed.”

“Second time using DLS for covid testing for travel. Both experiences were great. Very professional, clean, and organized. The app that you need to download to recieve your results is a totally different story. Horrible! My family and I could not access our results no matter how we tried. If you put in the wrong password more than a couple of times the app locks you out for hours. We were at risk of not having proof of negative results to skip quarentine when we got home to Maui. We left numerous messages to their help line but got no response. I then contacted DLS at Queens POB II and was helped by Malia. She truly went above and beyond to help us. What a hero she is to our family. I cant thank her enough. She really is "DLS' MVP!!!" Thank you Malia, you really are DA BOMB!”

“They have a pretty basic setup here: check-in desk, 2 blood-drawing stations, back room--I've never been in there--and a restroom. There's no real frills or ambiance to speak of, and now with COVID going on, there's no seating inside either. BUT everything is immaculately clean, neat & tidy, and the staff is nice. There's ample parking ($1 for first hour with validation, unless you're in & out of the structure in under 10 minutes, then it's free), and the location is literally right off & on the freeway. For me, that's basically everything I need in a testing place!I've gone 3 times now for various types of testing, and never had any problems. Seems like results always come back in a reasonable amount of time, and the staff is pretty good at estimating when that will be (but I've noticed that you usually have to ask).”

“If you have an infant needing a fingerstick for hemoglobin/hematocrit and lead test, dont waste your time at another location. Come to Kapiolani. Kapiolani Hospital has Disney themed murals and the lab has a magic window. If you download the Disney Hero's app there are a bunch of games/activities you or your child can play while waiting. The area is clean, the service was fast and our phlebotomist was kind and gentle with my 10 month old. She even started making all kinds of animal noises to distract her when she was collecting the blood specimen. The icing on the cake was running the test as soon as she collected it to make sure we didn't need to redraw. Such a thoughtful gesture.”

“Average doctor experience, but I wasn’t expecting personalized care from an urgent care facility. The nurse/intake physician who saw me before the doctor, though, was amazing and I’m giving 5 stars mostly for her. I believe her name was Alyssa? She was kind, personable, and patient, and I felt she genuinely cared about my health issue. She even took the time to re-wrap my injury and tell me where to get bandages at the drugstore. The world would be a better place if every healthcare professional was more like Alyssa.”

“This DLS location is located in POB 2 and another great location to get labs done if you work in the area or have a Doctor's appointment. Tbh, I don't know why this location has such low ratings. Something to remember...YOUR doctor is responsible to send the request and if your doctor gives YOU your papers to take to DLS, that's YOUR responsibility, not DLS. DLS is just helping you and your doctor out and are not responsible for knowing what you need done. Perhaps in a perfect world they would but...Bumbai? I forget what floor they're on, but you can look them up in the directory. Also, I don't think they open as early as the POB 3 location. I've also gone to this location a handful of times for lab work to be done. As you can tell from my other reviews..yeah kind of getting a bunch of labs done recently. Each time I've gone, service was really quick. I never had to wait long before I was in a chair and getting blood drawn. My personal tip, let the nurse choose what arm to draw blood. That way they choose the one that's easier for them...and also, that means less chances for missing a vein. Unlike the POB 3 location, I've never seen this location get busy..but I've never really stayed long. The turn around is pretty fast. Parking is available in the building. The parking seems better than POB 3..it's a lot more floors and seems more open. The staff is friendly and nice and I've never had an issue with them. I'd be sure to continue coming if I'm in the building or in the area.”

“I needed to get a blood test done for an upcoming scan and was told I needed it by Monday. They close at 12:30pm on Saturday and I'd gotten there at 12:27 or so. Michelle at DLS was so nice and kind and did four draws requested by four of my doctors. Michelle was fantastic and took great care of me. Mahalo DLS Liliha and Mahalo Michelle!”
