The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort is a hotel in an amazing and beautiful location directly on Waikiki beach, with convenient access to the sand. The rooms are described as lovely, gorgeous, amazing, clean, comfortable, and spacious, some offering great ocean views from a balcony. The staff are consistently noted as super friendly, helpful, nice, and providing amazing service.
The location is a major highlight, being extremely good and close to Kalākaua Avenue. It is within walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, attractions, and malls, and is next to the Hawaii Army Museum. The pool area is gorgeous, and the hotel offers many activities. The on-site beach is noted as barely used.
Feedback includes that the Wi-Fi can be spotty. Dining experiences vary; the poolside restaurant is great for lunch and brunch appetizers, while the Monkeypod restaurant and limited breakfast voucher choices received mixed reviews. A nearby steak shack is highly recommended. The hotel is presented as a great hotel alternative, not an all-inclusive resort.
DO NOT RECOMMEND during ongoing renovation – Unacceptable Resort Fees. I strongly advise avoiding this resort until all construction work is fully finished. I will definitely not be returning here.

All the staff at Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort were so kind and welcoming to my kids and I. We had a lovely time at the pool and the beach. Our housekeeper Eileen was especially sweet and kept our room clean and comfortable throughout our stay. We didn’t want to leave!

I like the location, but the swimming beach isn't that great. They have a very small beach with not much sand and no lounge chairs. One must walk down the beach to another location.
