“Easy, relatively fast, & reliable!

Booked a car through their website for a short trip to Maui & it was easy to navigate through the website. They communicate pretty well too, so it's nice knowing that they're there as you need.
They pick you up from the airport and will drop you back off as well, & it's a very short trip since they're located nearby.
It's definitely nice not having to worry so much about waiting in line at your typical car rentals at the airport!
They just have $10/$15 (can't remember exact) fee for anyone 21-24 but still better than other rental places! But overall prices seem reasonable and we originally had our car just for a day, so no matter how short/long your trip is, can rent a car here which is nice. Some other rental car places I looked into only could reserve if you had minimum some days.
The car was also very clean compared to some other rental cars elsewhere from my experience. Clean inside & out, no smells

“Handling the rental car arrangements was convenient, as there were no vehicles available at the location right next to the cruise terminal. I took a taxi to the airport and transferred to the free green shuttle train. Upon arrival, I completed the paperwork, stepped outside, turned left, and went down a level to pick up the car; the process was quick and easy. The only downside was that the location was a bit far from the cruise terminal, making it slightly less convenient.”

“If you're looking for the typical resort vacation, this probably isn't for you. But if you want the freedom to experience Maui on your own terms, I cannot recommend Sean and Epic Maui Camping enough.

From start to finish, Sean's communication was outstanding. He was responsive before I arrived, checked in during my trip, and even followed up afterward. I always felt like someone was there if I needed anything.

The airport pickup couldn't have been easier. Sean's instructions were clear, the vehicle was exactly where he said it would be, and within minutes I was on my way exploring Maui. Drop-off was just as simple. My flight wasn't until late in the evening, and returning the vehicle was completely hassle-free. I grabbed a quick Uber for the short ride (about 1.5 miles) back to the airport and was on my way home.

The Nissan Xterra was fantastic. I put more than 600 miles on it during my trip, including the Road to Hana, countless scenic pull-offs, beaches, and campgrounds. It handled everything with confidence and never let me down. Whether pulling off onto rough shoulders for an amazing view or winding through Hana's famous curves, the vehicle performed flawlessly.

What really impressed me was how incredibly well-equipped it was. Literally everything I needed was included, whether I was staying at a campground or simply stopping somewhere along the road. The tent setup was excellent, with both large and small stakes that came in handy during the windy nights. The sleeping mattress was surprisingly comfortable and could be used either inside the Xterra or in the tent. There was a camp stove and propane, blankets, towels, and countless other thoughtful items. I didn't end up using everything, but it was incredibly reassuring knowing it was all there if I needed it.

I spent most of my time camping at ʻOlowalu Campground, which turned out to be the perfect home base with hot showers, clean flushing restrooms, a beautiful beachfront setting, and a very well-maintained campground. I also camped at the campground inside Haleakalā National Park in Hāna, and having a vehicle already equipped with everything made the experience effortless.

One of the unexpected highlights of my trip was talking with other travelers. So many people told me they wished they had known this was an option instead of staying in a traditional hotel. Even several locals I met said they were going to look into Epic Maui Camping after hearing about my experience.

Overall, this was one of the best travel decisions I've made. It gave me the flexibility to experience the real Maui instead of being tied to a resort. If you're even considering this adventure—even if it's just for a night or two—book it. You won't regret it.

“I can’t add much to the great things others have already said about the price, service, and extras - but I can confirm it all. Pickup and return were fast and smooth. The 5 minute drive to their office gives you a chance to learn a few things and realize you’ve got a friend on the island. The food trucks right next to the office are exceptional and varied - we returned whenever we could during our stay. Going with Hawaiian Rent a Car next time is a no-brainer.”

“I love my adventure cars from Kimos! A fraction of the price from other airport rentals. No fuss no muss, because it is all online. Arrive and your car is already in the parking lot. No waiting for a bus or long rental car lines. I have been using Kimos for 20+ years. The cars are running, good AC and radios. Remember this is an “island car,” so it may not be pretty. “We rented a hybrid Toyota Camry super last-minute and were lucky Maui ECO still had something available on Christmas eve when we arrived. Enterprise had us at #11 on their waitlist even though we reserved our car months in advance. We scrambled and called around. We spoke to Shaun and his quote was half of the Hertz quote. The customer service was excellent. The car as well as the umbrella and boogie boards we borrowed for the week were great. Happy we found Maui ECO and will definitely rent from them again the next time we are there, hopefully soon!”

“The guys at Jeep sent me here because I needed a car while mine was getting service. For the rental, there were a lot of options. I got a new Rubicon with just over 5k miles on it. The staff were so friendly and the service was impeccable. The entire process was fast and friendly. “My family and I just recently traveled to Maui and rented our jeep from Hawaii Lifted. Amazing experience from start to finish! They communicated consistently with me, dropped the jeep off as soon as we received our bags, and the jeep was super clean upon receiving it. “Don’t ever leave reviews but this rental car company is the best. Very affordable, nice clean car, and I chose to extend my vacation for 2 extra days and they allowed me to extend my car for 2 extra days with no issues.

PS: the people who are in the reviews complaining about the $24 charge to leave airport lot and the charges for late drop off don’t understand business hours and that may be a cost associated with arriving on the island outside of business hours. If your flight arrives before 3pm they will shuttle you to the sight to pickup car free of charge, otherwise you will have to pay $24 for the convenience of having your car in the airport lot waiting for you. And dropping you car off outside of business hours at the airport for a small fee is more convenient as you don’t have to rely on the shuttle to get you to the flight in time, you are paying for convenience. If you are saving money going with this company don’t complain about small charges that only make your experience more convenient. End of story. Highly recommend these guys”
