“We had such a magical time here in February 2024. The location is gorgeous, the attention to detail is amazing, the amenities are top notch. Most importantly, the staff is incredible. We have to give a special shoutout to our friend Marina at the ‘Olu Cafe. She made every day the best and taught me a lot about the local animals. We love you and miss you, Marina! I highly recommend this resort and a visit to Marina at ‘Olu Cafe! Also, we were part of a company incentive trip, so we must thank the amazing events staff for doing such a wonderful job for our group. They took care of us rain and shine!”

“We had a blast! Very pleasant place, clean, and quiet. No bugs, functional AC, all basic beds covered. When we were there the building was being restavrated, but there was no noise/issues related to that that impacted us.”

“This is such an awesome place to stay. The hotel was beautiful, and there is something for everyone here. The pools here are great whether you have young kids or are just looking to relax, and the same goes for the beach activities too. In particular, the snorkeling here (which you can rent) was probably my favorite part--you literally can see so many giant sea turtles and fish just swimming around near you! The hotel is also at the end of the beach walking path that can take you to Whaler's Village. I would also like to give a shoutout to the Astrophotography workshop (bring your own camera). Although it sounded pricy at first glance, it was so cool to learn the skills to take incredible astrophotography shots with my own camera! Plus, telescopes are setup too for just stargazing. The hotel staff were very kind too and the rooms were clean. Given how busy this resort is, I will say plan extra time if you need to go to the front desk because the wait can be a bit unpredictable.Note the Whaler's Village Shuttle doesn't stop directly at the resort, but it is a short walk away (though the walk can be very hot so keep that in mind).”

“I rented a room through Maui Properties, and the view from the room made the whole trip. This is thee greatest view of any place I have vacationed. The sound of the waves is loud but in the best way. The light rattling of the palms, the surf meeting the kava rocks, makes it a place where you can sit and just listen for hours. The only bad part about the room was the fold out sofa. It's a back killer and needs to be replaced. I would not count on sleeping anyone on it. We ended up taking the cushions from the sofa on the frame, then putting the mattress on top, and that made it tolerable. The resort and staff are wonderful. The view and beach are 11/10.”

“We stayed over night here and I was unexpectedly please with these accommodations. We got in late so we were informed of the processes to get the door sensor from the lock box located in front of the office. The room was very spacious and clean. Everything inside looked new and it was better than I expected for the price. We had a king size bed and a fold out for me. The room comes with a full size refrigerator, flat screen TV, rotating fan, nice view of swimming pool and garden. The bathroom come with amenities and a walk in shower. Everything was good about this place. Staff is nice also. Very pleased with the price as well.”

“The location is perfect with the beach walkway ending right at the property. Walking distance to so many good restaurants as well as Whaler’s Village. Room was clean and was exactly what we needed for our stay. We were able to see whales from the beach and beach chairs are provided which was a great touch. Complimentary postcards with postage were waiting in our room to send to family or friends, such a great touch! I can’t recommend this property enough, I would definitely come back again.”

“We had a great stay in #215 at Hale Kai. Upon arriving to the condo we were greeted with an amazing view of the ocean from our balcony, there was music playing, fans blowing, and the place was very clean and well stocked. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Pros: location and access to the beach park next door as well as the Natural Foods store and other shops. Parking is easy. We liked that this place is small in comparison to the big resorts, low key and family friendly. The kitchen and bathroom are updated and everything worked well, the bed was comfortable and the balcony is great for watching whales and turtles. There is only one drawback with the noise from the street (we had one night of cruisers revving up their engines), but this comes with the convenience of being close to everything. If you are a light sleeper this may bother you, but I live in an urban setting so it's not a big deal for me. We will definitely stay here again.”

“We loved everything about our stay here! The unit was immaculate, and the view was absolutely gorgeous. We saw turtles every day of our stay from our lanai (this will be a treasured memory). I also saw one whale tail off in the distance on one very clear day. The sunsets were beautiful and mornings, quiet and serene.Parking was confusing, and we got mixed messages (but we were told that was due to construction happening, so probably not an issue going forward).Definitely would recommend the 2 bedroom units if taveling with 2-4 people as having two bathrooms was a huge win for us, especially after visits to the beach.Thank you for having us!”

“Wow, we absolutely loved staying here at the Maui Makai Condo. Incredible location with just a 5 minute walk across the street to the beach. Interior is freshly renovated with awesome kitchen appliances, natural wood touches throughout the space, waterfall shower in the bathroom, washer and dryer for when you need, awesome AC to help regulate on those hot days, and a closet full of beach gear to hit the waves! Definitely will be recommending this to all our family and friends to stay here! Thanks again for a memorable stay! Mahalo! :)”

“Just got back from 10 days there with the whole family from my 86-year-old grandma to the three nieces and nephews under 18 months. This place was awesome. The rooms were great. We had a couple of them. They were all slightly different but all great. The views are amazing. The rooms were all super clean and had great service. It's only a couple hundred meters out to the beach and the El Dorado has a cabana on the beach that is massive and has a fridge and a stove and a barbecue and tables and chairs and barbecues and all sorts of stuff. So you can actually take all of your groceries down to this compound on the water and cook yourself meals all day long while you and the family swim and enjoy the beach. This is a great place to stay. The staff are lovely. The rooms are awesome. It's on one of the best golf courses in the country and I can't see enough good things about it”

“We are owners in Marriott Vacation Club and love staying at the different MVC resorts around the country. Hawaii is one of our favorite places to visit. We had never stayed at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club before but after just leaving, I thought it would be good to get our thoughts down. So here goes. First off, if you've never stayed at a Marriott Vacation Club before, you should. If you're looking for big units, with full kitchens, they're such an easy choice. Do a big Costco run to start the trip, and then you've got snacks and any meals you want to make your trip go well. 1. The staff was super friendly. From our check-in at the front desk to every interaction while we were there, the staff was great. 2. The 3 bedroom unit we had was awesome. We were in the Napili tower. Master bedroom had a king bed and a big bathroom. Bedroom two has 2 queen beds. Third bedroom had a king (I believe) and a sofa pull-out. Living room also had a pullout bed. It fit our family quite nicely. Big kitchen. Only downside is that the ice maker was decently slow at making ice. 3. The pools were great. I absolutely LOVED how they stayed open late. Some places close early, but it was awesome that we could swim and hot tub after a long day on the island. The pools closed at 11:00pm which is just awesome. 4. The towel situation was great. When you're in Hawaii you use a lot of beach towels so it was great to be able to get and exchange towels so easily. 5. Our unit was clean. No issues at all! I slept like a baby with the waves crashing right outside the window the whole week. We'll definitely be back to the Maui Ocean Club!”

“Loved the pools, hot tubs, beach, clear water, snorkeling (walk to black rock section of kaanapali beach) easy walk to whalers villiage for shops and restaurants . Loved monkey pod and hula grill. At resort we had one rude server by pools but the other people working there are wonderful . Loved the pool attendant manager who made sure people didn’t hog a pool chair all day if they weren’t even there (he removes towels after 2 hours approx, if people don’t return to their chairs to free of chairs for everyone ! I highly recommend this resort . You’ll love it! Great for kids”

“We took a family trip here. Our son in law provided his travel knowledge & this place was great in all aspects! If you're ever going to travel to Maui; The Mahana is the place to be! We had a room on the 11th floor & it was amazing. The view day or night was great out of our room. The beach is right about 10-12 feet below us. At night, if you leave your balcony door open, you can hear the water crashing on the shore below. The ocean waves therapeutically puts you in a restful state of mind & body. My wife & I totally enjoyed being away from Los Angeles, Ca hustle & bustle of the big city life. It's about 45 mins away from the airport. This place provides: full kitchen in each room, tv with cable, wi-fi & full service pool & jacuzzi, smoking area, & a great service staff. It's a home away from home. No restaurant (you can prepare & eat at your room or suite). There are markets within walking distance. Big plus a Costco within 10 min of the airport. It was a gift from our daughter & her hubby. Our other daughter, her hubby, our granddaughters went as well! It was a superb family trip. Both relaxing & overall taken back by scenic sunsets & beautiful ocean views. The beach is spectacular both day & night. Such serenity from sun, ocean, sand & wind. Occasionally drizzle of light shower but nice rainbows for a finish. There are 6 grilles fir your convenience open for your use. Though no food is served, there are vending machines available. The main focus is peace, calm & tranquility for you! All the rooms face the ocean, beach & sunset! If you book ahead the spring season is the best! Weather is warm & mostly sunny @70's. Bring a positive attitude & open mind for an experience of a lifetime. Once you've been, I'm sure you'll want to come back! We do! Thank You Chris & J.D. You both for it! Our bday gift! Thank Mahana & Staff. Mahalo”

“It's early January 2024 and Kahana Beach Resort is now open. Rooms are being "refreshed." I'm not sure how much longer it will go on. My room refresh just finished and now they're working next door, but the noise hasn't been bad. I only heard footsteps upstairs briefly each morning. I heard doors closing and other noise from the hallway. The property is off of the old highway, so there isn't much street noise.I am in a studio. The doors are light and this is an issue when there are wind gusts. The doors rattle loudly and it sounds like someone is jiggling the handle and banging against the door to get in. The first night I was here there were lots of winds gusts and the loud rattling of the door repeatedly kept me from falling asleep. Gone are the Murphy beds; now there are regular queen beds. The mattress is firm but there's some give. There's still a pull-out couch; it's comfortable to sit on, but I didn't try sleeping on it.There are plenty of pillows, bedding, dish towels, and bath towels. All the basics are provided (pots, pans, dishes, utensils, dish soap, iron, etc., etc.). There is laundry on certain floors and they provide detergent. The machines accept coins, which you can get at the front desk. Please note: The machines have WashConnect stickers, but WashConnect does not work here. I contacted the company and they said that Kahana Beach Resort is not one of their accounts. All rooms have a lanai with tables and chairs. My room was in the corner on the mauka (mountain) side, which was fine with me, but I could see the ocean from the lanai. And the beach is literally right behind the building. There's a pool and hot tub, plenty of lounge chairs, two BBQs, and some tables and chairs by the grills. Parking is in front. There is a ramp right next to the five stairs in front.I never turned on the A/C or heat; I opened the lanai door when it was warm and put another blanket on at night when it was cold. There's a large flat-screen TV that seems to have tons of channels, but it really doesn't. There are no premium channels. But I found two Korean channels and one Japanese channel I watch a lot at home, so I was happy. BTW, there's a lag when you press any button on the remote; give it a few seconds before giving up. Theoretically the cable should always be on and you only need to turn the TV on and off (so said the instructions), but I always had to turn on the cable box. While there is plenty of room for two bathrooms sinks, there is only one. Personally I don't think this was a good move, but it saved money, and provided me with ample counter space to put out my things. Tons of mirrors; you can see your front and back, whether you want to or not. The large closet is behind the sink. (There's also a dresser below the TV.)The toilet and walk-in shower are in a separate, tiny, poorly-designed room. It's good because one person can be in there while someone is out at the sink. But you must close the bathroom door, even if it's just you there. The TP holder sticks out from an awkward spot behind the door. The walk-in shower does have a low barrier you must step over. There a cool rock design on the floor of the shower. There's a rainfall shower head and a smaller detachable shower head with a hose. Both have multiple settings. And they provide a non-skid shower mat! Hooray! I didn't have to use mine. Most places don't have these anymore and they should, for safety reasons. There's a dining table with four chairs in front of the couch. But, IMHO, with the removal of the Murphy bed, they should have moved things around so it makes more sense since the bed is always there now. As it is now, one edge of the bed is less than four feet from where you will be cooking your eggs or stir-frying your vegetables. The current arrangement also wastes space. The couch could go to the right of where it is now, the bed goes where the couch is, and the dining table goes where the bed was. That makes sense because then the table”

“We recently returned to the Marriott Ocean Club for a 6 night stay, we stayed here 4 years ago. Our room was on the third floor with an island view and partial Ocean view. The room was very nice, and so were the staff. We had a great stay because the location and facilities are excellent. You never need to stray far from this Vacation club they have a communal kitchen, laundry, BBQ grills outside. The Whalers village is a short walk from the Hotel if need dining out plus there are other dining options at and near the Hotel. We ate out several times, and we found most food and service in Maui to be lacking for the exception of one restaurant named Japengo at the Hyatt Regency. We would like to particularly thank staff member Imelda Martinez for her exceptional customer service, she went above and beyond when we needed something. We would also like to mention Elvira who was also extremely helpful when we asked for stuff. If I had to Knock anything, it would be their Valet and self-parking rates are pretty outrageous. Also their Happy hour at the pool bar is very limited to 1 hour and they don’t offer any food on happy hour menu.”

“This is the only resort we stay at when on Maui. The pool water should be a little warmer. Have experienced cold water in the pool for 15 plus years. Please consider increasing the temperature of the pool water. Truly enjoy the Sheraton Maui for all other resort aspects.Walkability: Love walking each morning on the oceanside boardwalk for miles.”

“Just got back from a week's stay at the Valley Isle, rented a Worldmark 2 BR unit which was pretty large by Hawaii standards and had a fabulous ocean view. FYI, Worldmark doesn't own the resort just manages a couple of dozen units there. Our room was very clean, well equipped and slept the 5 of us just fine. There was no A/C in any of the rooms but there was always a constant strong breeze because you're right on the beach and also several ceiling fans so we never felt uncomfortable. You're not going to get the amenities here like room service that you would in the ritzy resorts but the view is definitely 5-stars and the location can't be beat! Lots of eateries, bars and even a mini-market nearby that we walked to. Would definitely return for another stay!”
