“This was a reasonably nice location. I was pleasantly surprised that they had my Itoen green tea which was the main reason we made the stop. Oh, that and beef jerky. And they had a pretty good selection of the jerky as well; with the normal convenience store marked up prices. The line to pay was modestly long but quick. And the cashier had good customer service. Also, they had a restroom inside, which was a pleasant surprise as it's usually hit or miss at convenience stores.”

“We love Kagimoto's! This place has the best musubi's in town! The cheapest (biggest sized) bags of ice! Great daily lunches & snacks at the counter. The staff are super friendly & have the best customer service ever. We love coming here! I'd say we stop here at least 1X a week. One thing I love about this little store is that every time you walk in, they greet you by your name! How's that for excellent customer service. Definitely recommended!”

“Just a heads up to folks using the Da Store Food Pantry every 4Th Monday of the month. I went to their pantry today for the first time and I was told that if I come early the next time they will close down The Food Pantry. I was 45 min early and there was one other car earlier than me. Has anyone else been told that. I'm not exactly sure why arriving early pisses Them off so much. But I wont arrive early again and get the place closed”

“Excellent place to pick up a meal. The staff are very friendly and the store has some interesting items. Seems like the store is very popular in the area. We got a chili dog plate and chili bowl for lunch on our way to Volcanoes National Park. The chili is loaded with ingredients and flavor! We've had it several times and will be back again on your next visit. Our lunch was so delicious as we enjoyed eating at a picnic table next to the visitor's center.”

“Their gas is 5 cents cheaper than the station by the round-a-bout and although it gets very busy, they have 8 pumps which are spread out far enough that everyone can get in there. So 5 stars for that! I would never have the patience to wait in line at their convenience store. No restrooms, but you can use the ones at Burger King, next door.”

“Juicy meaty laulaus for the win and don’t forget to add one of their bakery items to complete your meal, definitely a hidden gem. And service is always on point each time.”

“Best place to stop before you head the the cold water pond beaches. They have everything you need. I was gonna get coffee but the shakes looked OnO. I had a Molokai with an added oats and honey. Mahalo to the young man today that suggested it. The drink was lined with honey on the walls. It wasn't too sweet but just right. I recommend it. They even had my friends Hilo beef jerky, "Orchid Beef Jerky". So many other goodies and snacks to check out. A must stop if you're in the area.”

“I’ve grown up with Meadow Gold milk. Despite the sale (and imminent closure) of the dairy’s properties on Sheridan Street in Honolulu, I hope it will continue to be sold in Hawaii. I still remember there was an ice cream production plant in the corner of Beretania and Keeaumoku, now the site of a medical office building.”

“It was just a stop to buy a newspaper, but seemed to be very clean and the cashier was very nice. A couple people were getting gas and the cashier was very friendly and outgoing. It was a quick stop, but a very nice one.”

“Hawaii 7-Elevens are the best! This one had a variety of different Hawaiian foods such as rolls, musubis, filled steamed buns and entrees. All are reasonably priced. They also have Slurpees with Hawaiian flavors. Only downside is they do not do 7-Eleven rewards but their unique products definitely make up for that.”

“Great little spot our guide Steve, from C Big Island Tours, took us to for lunch. You know it's EXTRA good when I have no pictures for my meal bc it means I've scarfed the whole thing down before I even thought of taking pics of it #newyearsamemeI got the Turkey sandwich with bacon as well as a side of pickles. Please make sure your SO gets their OWN side of pickles otherwise you'll be an unhappy camper like me as I had to begrudgingly share mine :/”

“If you've been to one 7-11, basically you've seen them all. They are all set up the same way with the same products. This, of course, is by design. The only difference I've experienced is with the employees. Different personalities and level of service. I've always gotten excellent service, never had any problems, and they always thank me for my business”

“I love this store. It a little more expensive then a couple other places, but they are the last place open late at night before getting to Volcano. Everything else closes by 5. However, the staff is friendly, helpful & knowledgeable about the area.”

“Great place to find, in front of the Hilo hotel, from where you can buy a good coffee, bobba tea, sandwiches, a quick drink, and souvenirs a/o.Shop opens at 8:00 AM, and it's the only time, early morning, when you can purchase a coffee; a minimum of 5.00 $ to purchase if using credit cards.”

“Good gas prices. Interior was clean enough, but small and cramped and entrance is entrance only and exit is exit only. No way in or out bidirectionally but that's only a minor complaint.”

“At first I didn't think anything about this place it was another gas station to me. My mother has become obsessed with this place and I couldn't understand why, she kept insisting to the family about the manapua, the fried manapua, and the chicken! Finally went and they literally make everything there I've never see that before, cutting the meat, making the big pot of rice and other things. The manapua, the char siu is juicy, it's the juiciest I've ever had and very flavorful. The chicken was really good. I like thighs because it's the juiciest part of a chicken (I think) This is the only place that I know that makes fried manapua. To my knowledge Oahu doesn't have this, if so someone tell me. If you want the fried manapua they said they make it at 11am (normally) by thankfully we sometimes luck out. Get it before school gets out because when it does, BOOM KANANI it's gone!!! Haha”

“They have a new tuna mayo inari/cone sushi 3 pack for under $4. Was surprised it was canned tuna and not like the spicy version which used fresh (raw) ahi poke. Still was decent like eating a tuna sandwich with sushi rice and inari. Coffee here is a much better deal than Starbucks.”

“Extremely convenience gas station along Kamehameha Ave. Self-service and can be busy at times. It's a pretty clean gas station too. Haven't any chance to encounter any staff so I can't say too much about their customer service. Gas price is too high so we only come here for emergency. And the hotel where we stayed is just a couple minutes ride to here so it's pretty convenient for us too.”

“After dinner during our first night on Big Island, we needed water/refreshments before heading back to the hotel, so we turned into a nearby gas station on the way back. Nomnom appears to be a newer competitor to long-standing convenience stores like 7-Eleven and Minit Stop. They claim to carry all the favorites for snacking and even offer discounted movie passes. This particular location was not as spacious as the 7-Elevens we've visited, but still offered the basics you would expect to find in a convenience store: Hot foods like musubi, hot dogs, and manapua. Beverages like hot/iced coffee, milk, cappuccino, hot cocoa, tea, juice, soda, energy/sports drinks, beer, liquor, and wine. Snacks like candies, gums/mints, chips, jerky, cookies, nuts/seeds, and frozen treats. They even offer deals on these snacks, beverages, and hot foods. We were able to score some savings on our purchases of large water bottles. If you're a local resident, be sure to register for the Kama'aina Rewards to earn points on purchases, which in turn can be spent like cash. Their reward system is nice because if you're a frequent coffee or ICEE consumer, you can redeem the 8th cup for free (just remember to scan the card upon purchasing).”

“The 7-11 here did look better than the ones on mainland. And the food turned out much better too. We tried their chicken-rice dish and the curry chicken bun. Great, cheap food available at all hours.”

“Wow this place has so much food options that is not like any gas stations that I have back home. So many different spam musubi options and buns. We came here after stopping at the volcano park for a quick snack on our way to Mauna Kea.”
