“This review is long overdue, but I had bodywork done by Todd and his team at M Toguchi and couldn’t have had a better experience. I was initially brought to them because they’re the only shop on the island that accepts Allstate (the insurance of the person who hit me), and I feel very lucky to have crossed paths with their business.
Todd went above and beyond throughout the entire process. He was an excellent communicator via email, phone, and in person, handled everything with Allstate, and made it very clear what I needed to do and when. He turned what could have been a stressful situation into an easy, well-cared-for experience. My car looks good as new, and I’ve had zero issues since the repairs were completed about a year and a half ago.
To give an example of how thoughtful Todd and his team are: they let me know early on that the aftermarket pinstripe on my car would be nearly impossible to recreate unless I returned to the original mainland dealership - and even then, only if the same pinstriper was still there. Todd still went out of his way to call another local business to explore options. When I ultimately decided not to redo the pinstripe and instead asked about removing it from the rest of the car for consistency, Todd and his team removed it free of charge. The result looks incredible - you’d never notice unless I pointed it out.
M Toguchi truly sets the standard for customer service on the island. I hope I don’t need bodywork again anytime soon, but if I do, I won’t hesitate to call them. If I could give 10 stars, I would!”
“Called in to check up on service records for a used car I was looking to purchase. The man who assisted me took my information, said he would get in touch with the owner, and find out if it was ok to share the details of the car.
He called me back within 24hours and gave me a detailed explanation of the services they had provided.
I appreciated that they were committed to their customers and checked in with the owner before disclosing any information. The timeliness was fantastic as well. I will definitely consider using them as my shop.”

“Came in to have my car's transmission fluid changed and everyone was so kind and informative. They made me feel at ease and at home. Loving uncle and aunty vibes in there.
John, the owner, was working at the front with a big smile to welcome me in. I told him what my car's been experiencing and he told me his game plan for checking out the car. Later he called with a detailed description of my car's transmission fluid and how much it'd cost. He was transparent and helpful the whole time, even doing a quick diagnosis and telling me what my car will need in the future and how long (timeline for completion) + how much the services would be.
Same day services are always worth it to me. I never felt stressed out and trusted them every step of the way.

“My husband and I live out of state and needed a mechanic for a yearly maintenance check for my precious mother's 2000 F150 pick up. We lost our mechanic in Lahaina and Elite Auto Repair was recommended by an acquaintance. We can't compliment John enough for his service and kindness. He fit us in, last minute, since we are leaving next week. He is honest, has integrity and is skilled. We are GRATEFUL and BLESSED to have found him. We will definitely go back to him. His little doggie, Oreo, is very protective but cute.

“These guys are the best - kind, honest, experienced, and personable. Ethan and his team are awesome. Customer service is superb. Bad experiences with other auto places on Maui left me with a bad taste in my mouth after getting hit with high hourly fees and an incorrect diagnosis on my severe alignment issue. I am so grateful I found this shop. They quickly diagnosed my bad wheel bearing, replaced it, and took the time to evaluate another issue (rough start up and idle) free of charge (bad timing belt tensioner). Money has been tight for me this year and these guys probably realized it based on the state of my car haha. They only recommended necessary repairs and realizing that I couldn’t afford new tires atm did a free tire rotation to put my less badly worn tires on the front. Where else will you find mechanics that will go above and beyond like that? Do yourself a favor and bring your daily driver to these guys. Mahalo Maui Auto Care ?”
