Idaho Dog Park Daycare & Lodging
5019 N Sawyer Ave, Garden CityI brought my lab in for his 2nd day of daycare and my VERY shy cattle dog for a meet & and greet, and they both seemed very happy and comfortable. During the CDs meet & greet, I could hear the facilitator praising and encouraging him. And I got several updates on how he was doing before I left, and his first day began. The staff are all very kind and friendly. There are windows in the lobby where you can see part of the big dog play area, and I've seen staff loving on the pups. I know for a fact that other local facilities charge extra for 1 on 1 attention/ snuggles. The drop-in policy makes it so easy. I used to have to make appointments a few days ahead of time and dro off or pick up during certain windows. Which is fine until something unexpected comes up.Also, I'm sure what's done differently here, but my lab is SO much calmer both arriving and leaving than he has been at any other facility (2 in the TV and one whileon vacation). Normally, he starts barking when we pull into the lot and practically pulls my arm off to get inside. When leaving, he drags the attendant, and body slams me. At Idaho Dog Park, he's definitely excited to get there but doesn't get over-aroused. He walks calmly into the building and then back to the intake room.I'm very grateful I found a daycare that provides a safe, healthy environment for my pups when I need to leave them.

We left today saying we’ve never been disappointed with anything here Maybe we’d like a fry with our burgers from time to time, but there’s almost something special about it too. They have one of the best smash burgers in town. We crave them!! They are simple and delicious. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is quaint and inviting. Powderhaus Brewing Company
9719 W Chinden Blvd, Garden CityLovely place and outside garden lawn was especially nice especially for accompanying children. Nice selection of beer. Just 1 complaint: the bartendtress added in her own tip and didn't tell me (party of 2 people). I didn't know til I received the receipt on line. I got change from her to tip her in cash and she still didn't tell me. Not a big deal but I don't normally tip over 30% and I sure won't tip there again.

Pho Nguyen
7310 W State St, Garden CityI think this was the best pho I’ve ever had. I love pho and have gotten it at a million places all over the country but this is hands down the best. The broth was so good. Great price for the portions. Super friendly service, not just with us but with all the other people I noticed in there. This is going to be my regular pho spot since moving to the area.

Push & Pour
214 E 34th St, Garden CityEvery visit begins with the same sacred duel—the unspoken coffee-shop rock-paper-scissors. Do I lead with a greeting? Wait for theirs? Go all in and order immediately? I lose every time, yet never feel like a fool. That’s the quiet genius of Push & Pour: ✨functional indifference✨—radical non-judgment achieved through ambient ambivalence.
That same energy extends to the bathroom. Hiding in plain sight, its door is a portal for the initiated. If you know, you know. If you don’t, you keep sipping your oat latte, pretending you don’t have to pee because admitting it would shatter the illusion of composure. The entrance offers zero anonymity—no hallway, no buffer, no pretense.
Waiting for that single door—vying for clues to its status, playing that flirtatious game of eye tag with other patrons—demands a kind of civic courage, a brief plunge into vulnerable, egalitarian chaos. It’s democracy, in its purest form.
It’s not a bathroom that invites you to linger, and that’s exactly why it works. A quick reset. A mirror check. A micro-existential crisis. Then back to the grind. Use it for anything more and, frankly, you belong at Starbucks.
