Pet Supplies Plus Garden City
5689 W Chinden Blvd, Garden CityI have a dog rescue in Dallas, called Stray to Play Rescue - and am also an SVP at a regional bank in Dallas. I was in town delivering a rescue dog to my family, when we decided to go to the pet store. My family suggested Northwest Pets - so we went. After a terrible experience there, we returned all our purchases.
I work with Pet Supplies Plus in Dallas, and often host adoption events there. I said - that’s it - we are heading to Pet Supplies Plus! We were greeted IMMEDIATELY by Trinity and Rhianna ( I think? ) who opened the door, fell to their knees GUSHING over our puppies! They were so KIND, warm and loving - and then walked us through how to use the dog wash and brought us happy hoodies! THIS is exceptional customer service - PSP is so lucky to have these wonderful ladies working for them. This is why I will always use PSP - even out of state - for my rescue dogs!!! Wonderful experience!!! Thank you Trinity and Rhianna for making me feel at home - 1,800 miles away from home.

Idaho Dog Park Daycare & Lodging
5019 N Sawyer Ave, Garden CityI brought my lab in for his 2nd day of daycare and my VERY shy cattle dog for a meet & and greet, and they both seemed very happy and comfortable. During the CDs meet & greet, I could hear the facilitator praising and encouraging him. And I got several updates on how he was doing before I left, and his first day began. The staff are all very kind and friendly. There are windows in the lobby where you can see part of the big dog play area, and I've seen staff loving on the pups. I know for a fact that other local facilities charge extra for 1 on 1 attention/ snuggles. The drop-in policy makes it so easy. I used to have to make appointments a few days ahead of time and dro off or pick up during certain windows. Which is fine until something unexpected comes up.Also, I'm sure what's done differently here, but my lab is SO much calmer both arriving and leaving than he has been at any other facility (2 in the TV and one whileon vacation). Normally, he starts barking when we pull into the lot and practically pulls my arm off to get inside. When leaving, he drags the attendant, and body slams me. At Idaho Dog Park, he's definitely excited to get there but doesn't get over-aroused. He walks calmly into the building and then back to the intake room.I'm very grateful I found a daycare that provides a safe, healthy environment for my pups when I need to leave them.

The Local
5616 W State St, Garden CityWe came here often for lunch after pickleball until the city of Boise closed nearby pickleball courts. We visit less often now but everything is still very good. Great selection of beers and wine. They rotate selections. Definitely not a sports bar. Outdoor seating depending on weather. Parking is free.
They occupy a corner spot of a business mall.

Pho Nguyen
7310 W State St, Garden CityI love this place and love having it in our neighborhood. The food is always excellent. I just wish…
Despite loving the food, the service and dining room are quite crap. The servers are typically under trained young girls, sometimes polite and rarely good at their jobs.
The open bar is orden dirty and centered around a television perpetually on and playing something random. Sometimes food, sometimes a car show, sometimes travel, punctuated by 3 adjacent tablet screens dinging with door dash orders every few minutes. There’s no music in the dining room so the dings of door dash are the only sounds outside of names and orders being called out for pick up.
Tables and counters are rarely cleaned in reasonable time, you can almost always sit next to a table of dirty dishes. The dining room is skirted with half hidden half empty cardboard boxes of styrofoam containers. The floor, though possibly cleaned regularly, appears a filthy mess of grey/brown cracked peeling paint. The layers of dust and food splatters on the wall don’t give confidence that the floors are cleaned any more frequently.
And yet despite this poorly staffed dining room mess, I always come back for the food hoping that one day the mediocre quality of atmosphere will be able catch up to the lovely quality of the food.

Push & Pour
214 E 34th St, Garden CityBy far the place to see and be seen. Brendan and Lucas have created a masterpiece for all walks of life. 110% Best Drip Coffee ☕️ in all of Boise. Simple breakfast menu made with all fresh ingredients is affordable and DELICIOUS! Always consistent. Proprietors take expert interest in their employees. Translates to employee longevity manifesting consistency in final product. Food is EXCELLENT. Coffee is EXCELLENT. Waitstaff are Omaha stylee, congenial, and friendly. I ??love this place. Arrive early to beat the rush. Stay late to absorb local artists displays. And compliment the waitstaff on their dope music playlists. Seasonal apparel in limited small batches. In Garden City Idaho, Push and Pour coffee shop is number ☝️!! Busy Busy Busy on weekends when the weather is nice. On Greenbelt at Boise's epic Whitewater Surf ? Park.
