Po Box 1431, SandpointWe cannot recommend Rick highly enough! We recently brought our 14-year-old Schnauzer to him, and it was nothing short of a miracle what he was able to do. Our pup had become increasingly aggressive toward grooming in his old age, and we were at a complete loss after his fur had grown too long, matted, and even picked up burrs after a run through a burdock patch.
Rick handled the situation with incredible patience, skill, and compassion. He managed to carefully and completely trim all of our dog's fur-even in the most difficult and sensitive areas-without causing distress. He also did a full nail trim, which is no small feat with our senior dog. We were amazed by the results and deeply grateful for the way Rick treated our dog with such understanding and care.
It's clear Rick is not only highly skilled but truly loves what he does. He turned what could have been a traumatic experience into one of relief and trust. We're officially repeat customers!

219 N 1st Ave, SandpointIt had been more than 20 years since I had been in the 219 as I moved away but, my wife and I found out that her friend Tish was working there so we stopped in for a drink as we were in Sandpoint for a visit. Wow, what a change from the old two one niner! It used to be an old dive bar but now it's a nice place. Not too nice though, they kept just enough edge to make it a cool place.

They have just the right amount of crunch to balance the banana. They do have a few without banana as well. Have only gone there a few times to treat myself, but the coffee is really good too. Not super sweet like some places and leaves you feeling good instead of sick to your stomach.

However, I always ask for raw instead of grilled onions and almost never receive that in my burger. The staff is hit or miss, run by mostly high schoolers. I also don’t love the combination of loud music and TV screens that are always going, it’s also quite expensive, nearing $20 per burger, but they have a military discount which is great!

323 Cedar St, SandpointIf happiness had a smell, it would be the burgers sizzling at Connie’s Cafe & Lounge in Sandpoint. I came in hungry and left questioning whether I should legally be required to write this place into my will.
Let’s talk about the burgers. These aren’t the flimsy, sad little disks that apologize for existing. These are bold, glorious towers of beefy excellence that arrive like they’ve just won a championship belt. Juicy, perfectly cooked, and stacked high enough to make you consider unhinging your jaw like a very determined python. Every bite felt like a tiny parade in my mouth, complete with confetti and possibly a marching band.
Speaking of bands, the Double Shot Band playing live on the first Friday of the month absolutely lit the place up. Great music, great energy, and just enough volume to make you tap your foot without accidentally ordering dessert in Morse code. The whole room had that warm, small-town, everyone’s-your-friend vibe that makes you want to stay way past “just one more bite.”
Yes, you might wait a little while when it’s busy… but that’s only because everyone else already figured out how good this place is. Totally worth it.
