“I had a special vintage watch that I wanted a surprise gift for my Dad for Christmas. Nothing too fancy, but needed a new battery and leather band. I knew it was pretty close to Christmas and that my gift idea may be too late to have repaired in time. Amanda was quick to greet me at the front door as if she were waiting just for me. She was very professional and, with the assistance from the owner, they were able to get the watch working again, set the time & date, and fitted with a beautiful new leather band...all while I waited a few moments. Though there were other guests in the store at the time, I was treated as if I was Amanda's first priority. Thank you so very much Amanda, and Simmons! “I was lucky enough to stumble upon this business upon moving to the area. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I knew that all the stores I went to seemed to be a bit too sterile and opportunistic, Marvin is the type of person you want when selling or buying precious metals... you don't want a money guy cause' their priority is profit margin - and you don't want a pawn broker cause they deal with too many shady transactions not to be a little shady themselves... What you want a metallurgist and an assayer. Marvin is exceptional at both. His priority is based in the scientific method, in weight and purity which are absolutes, so you get no BS. Beyond that he and his wife are very kind and knowledgeable. Instead of taking my personal, valuable belongings and slamming them on a counter, trying to low ball me and rushing me out the door with a bad deal... Marvin explains the process by which he determines purity, shows you his methods, and never pushes a sale. I learned quite a bit during our appraisal appointment and coming from a mineral exploration background myself, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with this. I've checked all around and, Marvin's prices are the best in the region. I can honestly say that going anywhere else to do this sort of business would be a mistake. “We had the most wonderful results from Quality Time. We gave Jamie two wall clocks to fix/service. One was a wedding gift (kit) from FiL, the other a German-made piece from the turn of the 19th century that neither of us had ever known to work. We have both back and they are beautiful! Not only are they both working, chiming, but their cases are cleaned and restored. What a gift: being able to fix heirlooms and return them to their families. “I love Fred Meyer, I mean common they were the only "General Store" in Idaho until Walmart (which was looked at as an oddity. It was late 1999 or 1998 when Walmart came to Boise. Fred Meyer has always had quality products, household, housewares, furniture, decor, clothing, intimates, fantastic produce, meat, deli, and ahead of all the little pop ups when it comes to the new trend in consumer food products "vegan", "organic", "gluten free" and they continue to grow and remain the front runner. Their prices were beet by Walmart before Covid if one does not utilize the reward system, ads, coupons; both electronic and paper. I save more and get better products from a Northwest local supply chain supporter with amazing products and service. You have to utilize your rewards and don't miss the Founders sale. We actually on vacation went to the first Kroger (and still the corporate store) in Oregon. It's multi level and awesome. I love FM. Two of three of my children work for the company. They started while in high school. They are great employers as well.”
