Best Western Premier Alton-St. Louis Area Hotel offers a mixed experience for guests. Many reviews highlight cleanliness in the rooms, with clean linens and carpets, though some bathrooms show signs of wear, such as flaking paint and mold. Noise levels can be a concern, especially for those with rooms facing the atrium, as thin walls and bright lights can disrupt sleep. The hotel provides a free breakfast that some guests found satisfactory, with good bacon and a selection of toaster items. However, the scrambled eggs and sausage were criticized for their quality. The on-site Mexican restaurant is praised for its good food, although it contributes to noise late at night. While some guests appreciate the hotel's location, noting its proximity to Alton and St. Louis, others mention that walkability to nearby restaurants can be unsafe. Reviews also mention friendly staff and ongoing improvements at the property. For those planning events, the hotel seems to accommodate well, offering setup, food, drinks, and cleanup services. Overall, it is seen as a decent option for a short stay, though guests seeking peace and quiet may want to consider other accommodations.
The parking lot is huge. Plenty of room for trucks. I searched for a Best Western (no longer BW) but the price was very good for the room. They have made a few obvious improvements with the remodel but unfortunately I stayed during painting. Staff was friendly and helpful.
