“Grew up in Blue Island in 1962. Always a stop when I visit Blue Island alot in past if I come to town for church Sundays from Highland.Indiana. Lost a deli little grocery store here in Highland. Indiana. This is a small like grocery store very clean love hot foods and the deli counter in the back has outstanding sandwiches to order from a very friendly young man from the south part of United States. He's only in his late 30 maybe early 40s looks very young slim. Family here at Danny's very friendly always buy beer here.Come over always weekday to take Metra downtown Chicago. Stopped coming to Blue Island more and more when covid started in 2020.I have since hardly if at all come back stopped going on train to Chicago in 2020. Family his other employees joke laugh with me like family here like this. Sometimes rarely everyone serious here but the little store very nice, nestled in a eastside neighborhood. Miss seeing alot Metra railroad workers come talk them waiting sandwich about trains, people relative I knew worked Metra and I bring up politics with them the problems of Chicago. Dan Native. The owner/cook maintains staples available, but rotates the main dishes consistently, so it's fun seeing what you get, especially when it's all delicious.

“This is a good corner store. I’m not from blue island nor do I live in it but whenever I go in, I always get treated respectfully. The owner has his mask on when I’m there and gets me in and out. I always buy their blunts and vapes for my gf. It’s always fresh and doesn’t taste old or expired like how some corner stores be. People wrote reviews complaining about food that they really should be getting at a GROCERY STORE, and not a corner store, but hey to each their own. Don’t give bad reviews based off of that. This place is actually one of the best corner stores in blue island.”
