“Best paninis in Chicago hands down. The staff and sandwiches here are constantly friendly and delicious. Open 24 hours is so convenient and they have everything you could ever need. If you are in the area stop by for a sandwich, you will not regret it. The prices are also very fair and affordable, especially in this economy. Don’t sleep on the breakfast sandwiches either!”

“Hyde Park Trader Joe's is a good neighborhood resource. There was once a food collective that occupied the space this store is in. So, Trader Joe's provides the options for produce, dairy, meat, snacks (oodles & oodles of snacks!), wine and various pantry staples (rice. Pasta, soups, et al). The namesake house brand is pretty decent in regards to quality and ingredients. The staff is affable and quick to assist shoppers. Bring your own bags or buy a few Trader Joe's shopping bags to keep in the car or home. Ample free parking in their open air lot.”

“Visited West Town Market, I had such a pleasant experience! The store was spotless, with neatly arranged shelves and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. They offered an impressive variety of products, all at very reasonable prices.

What truly made my visit memorable, though, was the exceptional service I received from the cashier. They were incredibly attentive, friendly, and efficient, making checkout smooth and enjoyable. This store, combined with its excellent staff, is definitely a place I’ll be revisiting soon!”

“Best sandwich in town, in my humble opinion. The line out the door each day proves I'm not the only one! Pro Tip: order ahead online and avoid the wait :-)”

“The quality and selection at Heart of Middle East is top notch! They add new items all the time, but definitely don’t skip the house made pita chips and dip selections. Everyone who works here is also so kind and welcoming. This is my favorite errand to run!”

“Kol Tuv is a hidden gem on Devon Ave in Chicago. It is a specialty grocery store that carries an eclectic variety of foods that cater to all different populations. They have all the items you would find in a typical grocery store plus gluten free, dairy free, kosher, gourmet etc. When you go, you must check out the selection of chocolates and candies. The staff is friendly and helpful and the store is immaculate. This store makes grocery shopping fun and exciting! Hope you love it as much as we do!”

“Nice zero waste store with a lot of dry staples. Be careful because there's honey or beeswax in a lot of staff sold here. Lot of things are super expensive for what they are too, like tiny little lotion sticks for $20. Feels like you're getting kinda ripped off despite reducing waste for some things? Dry goods section is good though and you can bring your own container for a discount.”

“A little pricier than other grocery stores but the quality of items is great and the selection is very broad for the footprint. One of my favorite grocery stores in the neighborhood”

“Wonderful store and great community asset. It's very clean, shelves are well stocked, tasty hot bar with a chef and has a nice selection of freshly prepared food selections. Plus... the atmosphere itself is inviting!
The freezers and shelves are well stocked with great buys, and many traditional grocery store products are offered to families with quantity-priced values.
There is also a variety of superb garden produce that offers all kinds of fresh vegetables, spices & fruit at prices you can't beat at other stores. Any shopper would be pleased with their purchases. It's worth the trip!?”

“Friendly staff, really clean vibe, and the food is honestly on point. Everything tastes fresh, and the drinks are something different — tried a cherry cola and it was actually fire. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.”

“The owner is so kind and hospitable. He is known and loved by everyone that works at our organization. I love the chicken shawarma, but the falafel is the best I’ve had anywhere.”

“I love shopping at harvesTime! It is the perfect sized grocery store -- you can be in a and out with what you need fairly quickly. I especially appreciate their freshly baked European style breads and fresh pastries. We typically pick up a spinach spanakopita when we stop in! They also have some unique local items sprinkled throughout the store. Meat from local farms, micro greens, tea blends, chili oil to name a couple. This fits with their ethos as a local independent grocery store.”

“Good selection of less-common meats and cuts (e.g. lamb shanks, duck, ground venison are things I've found there) at reasonable prices. It's a good middle ground between the grocery store and specialty butcher.”

“Alex is AMAZING!! You have to visit this space, talk about service, selection and a great knowledge all in one spot! Check it out, you will not be disappointed!!”

“This is the best little shop. They have a great variety of things they always have extra food left over from their pizza place next-door for a discounted price not to mention the customer service is phenomenal. We typically go here often for things cause we live around the corner and everyone is always so friendly even to the point today we ran in to ask for just a plastic bag because we ran out of dog bags outside the shop and he easily gave us one no hesitation 10 out of 10 would recommend supporting this family business”

“I’m so so happy I came across Carnicería Ruiz. I was looking for a Mexican goods store that wasn’t too far from Logan Square, and they blew me away! This cozy market is well-stocked with dry/pantry goods, imported Mexican products, fresh produce and an excellent meat and cheese counter. They even have carne seca! (A healthier and honestly tastier alternative for beef jerky fans. It’s just meat dried in the sun with salt and that’s it, no other ingredients) I HIGHLY recommend you visit on the weekends too, when they have homemade: barbacoa, carnitas, and menudo. I just bought 2 lbs of barbacoa so I could make it into meals over the week, ~that’s how good it is. The people that work there are always knowledgeable and friendly. This is a lovely establishment, I can’t wait to go back for some menudo!”

“Imagine you are trying out a new recipe. This calls for a little bit of a certain spice. Now you can either buy an entire bottle that will gather dust (i.e. start clumping) after a couple uses, or do 'unauthorized modifications' to the recipe. Enter Wild Onion - they have something I've never seen in a grocery store before... you're able to buy spices and some baking needs (e.g. cornmeal) by weight! No more caked up spices or asking mom if you can borrow some cumin, and having her give you the whole bottle anyway. Another area where Wild Onion shines is the sheer volume of local products. It is like a little farmers market in a store. While I understand why these products are more expensive than Kroger's, other products came with some sticker shock. Since Wild Onion is small, it likely won't replace your everyday grocery store. However, it can be an excellent supplement, especially if you're looking for something locally grown/made (in the case of bread), or just a bit of a spice. Final note, while interaction has been limited, service was refreshingly kind and welcoming. Thus, Wild Onion won't make it into my regular rotation, but when I need something a little extra special or specific, it will be the first place I go.”

“Just stopped in for the first time. The items are cheaper than the go grocer in my building, which is great. Nice variety of fresh made sandwiches. Subs are large and tasty. And they sell small bags of chips, two for a dollar. Perfect.”

“Incredible little grocery store with delicious sandwiches pre made and made to order.

They have specialty snacks, fancy cookies, an other treats. It’s like a bougie little bodega. Incredible”

“Amazingly fresh & high quality produce. Blows the Jewel and Mariano’s out of the water in terms of quality. Great selection of local & organic breads, mushrooms, and snacks.”

“I love this place. The parking lot is not that big, but the market itself is significant. There's an entire housewares section, a mandu stand, and everything else you'd expect at a grocery store. There's a variety of fruits, veggies, fish, meats, and frozen foods, all at fantastic prices. Will definitely be coming here regularly.”

“Genuinely the closest thing this neighborhood has to community. Everyone is super nice and friendly! Treat me like family.

PLEASEEEE owners if you’re reading, the final cherry on top for this place would be selling subs/sandwiches like a bodega. Or some sort of grab and go food.”

“If you want a shop that doesn’t screw people over with prices, and value loyalty, this is THE shop. Mo is super cool, he would always put customers before himself and make sure we get product before he does and he’s the shop owner. Can’t say enough good things about this place.”
