The BEST WESTERN Grant Park Hotel is noted for its absolutely amazing and fantastic location. It is straight across from Grant Park and within easy walking distance to the city's main sights, including the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, Millennium Park, Cloud Gate, Buckingham Fountain, and Lake Michigan. The nearby station for the city train system provides further connections. The location is convenient, great for walkability, and the primary reason many would choose to stay again. The staff is consistently described as top notch, warm, helpful, friendly, welcoming, and always ready to assist. Housekeeping cleans rooms with meticulous attention to detail. The hotel offers good value, especially for a budget stay, with some guests benefiting from upgrades. The extended rooms are recommended for their great views of the park, lake, sunrise, and sunset. However, the building is old and shows it in places, potentially benefiting from a deep clean or upgrades. Rooms are basic, a place to sleep, with some noting a lack of blackout curtains. Noise from adjacent rooms and the street is noticeable but manageable for some. Specific issues include bathrooms that are just okay, with tubs that do not drain well and a constant fan. The fitness room is highlighted as horrible, needing cleaning and working machines. There is no hotel breakfast, but an excellent Paris Baguette is attached. An old hotel. Rooms are old, but the location is very convenient.

Hotel has a liquor store, bakery, and some restaurants nearby that you get a 10% discount to. Our room didn’t have a lot of hot water in the shower but the sink tap was hot. The floors in the hallway were not flat. Windows in our room were single pane, you could hear everything outside. Had a nice view of the park.
