Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago-Downtown offers a clean, well-maintained stay with friendly staff and a great location. Guests appreciate the neat rooms equipped with televisions, refrigerators, and good bathrooms. The hotel features a cozy lobby with a fireplace and workspace options, making it inviting for visitors. The breakfast area is nicely designed, offering a variety of options including gluten-free cereal, waffles, potatoes, meat, and muffins, though some find the breakfast less traditional. The hotel provides amenities like a heated pool, gym, and a security system that requires a valid room key to access elevators, ensuring guest safety. Many guests highlight the helpfulness of the staff, especially during check-in and with special requests, and praise the cleanliness of the property. The location near the Chicago Riverwalk, Union Station, and numerous restaurants adds convenience for exploring the city. The hotel also offers a small convenience store and contactless food delivery options, making it easy to get food and supplies. However, there are some downsides. The proximity to a fire station means frequent sirens, which can disturb light sleepers, especially at night. The street-side rooms can be quite bright, and the curtains do not close fully, requiring makeshift solutions like hair clips. The pool is small and often busy, with no life jackets for children. Additionally, some guests find the room size small but still welcoming, with minor complaints about the bedding and amenities like paper cups instead of glassware. Overall, the hotel provides a good, safe, and comfortable stay with friendly service and a prime location in downtown Chicago.
Staying here for 3 nights. The rooms are big and clean overall. the hotel location is good. The biggest problem is the elevators. on an average, You have to wait 15 minutes for elevator every time you need it. It’s very frustrating. They only have 3 for a big building. They need 3 more. The bathroom is also very tiny.

The staff was amazing, the rooms were comfortable, and my work crew had no troubles (there were 4 of us staying here this trip).

It's like many other Hampton Inn chains, except this one is right next to a fire station. I was woken up by sirens throughout my entire stay. The hot breakfast selection is the weakest of all the Hampton Inns I have been to. Other than that, it's the same quality.
