“Best garden center in the city and suburbs. Nothing comes close. Was just there and the 2023 "overpriced" Xmas tree issue was a mistake... the trees had been mis-marked and the issue has been fixed. Bad mistake on Gethsemane's part? Yes, but the issue was rectified. I asked a salesperson about it because the trees all seemed to be fairly priced and similar to last year's prices... nothing like what I had read here on Yelp. The staff here actually know and care about plants, unlike other garden centers. If you want cheap, sunburnt petunias and marigolds? Go to Home Depot... no one's stopping you. But if you want better quality plants and a far better selection, go to Gethsemane and pay a little more. It's worth the extra money. The employees are awesome and give great advice and service. Possibly my favorite store in Chicago, period.”

“I have a friend who is a passionate gardener as myself, so when her special 'milestone' birthday came along, I wanted to send her something she could eventually plant in her yard rather than a floral bouquet. I chose a pink azalea. Though I live in the western suburbs, I wanted to find a florist in her Jefferson Park neighborhood. I chose Wall's Flower Shop on Higgins but the website was redirected to Donna's Garden Flower Shop near Pulaski & Peterson. I spoke to Avi on the phone and he was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. This floral shop was extremely conscientious about delivering this fragile plant in the midst of our cold January weather. They called my friend and made sure she was home to receive it. She was extremely excited and thrilled to receive her gorgeous plant full of pretty pink buds. I will definitely recommend Wall's Flower Shop/Donna's Garden Flower Shop to all my Chicago friends!”

“Going to make this review short and sweet.Thank you so much Abby for making me a sweet and simple flower crown for my October cemetery shoot!I came here with my dog in late October because I wanted a tiny and simple flower crown for my hair. I stated I wanted the flowers to be dark or black and Abby ordered the perfect floral arrangement with my specific corpse bride request. I'm now patiently waiting for the flowers to dry up so I can have it for a future project. The staff here gave me an extremely reasonable price on short notice and I also purchased a cute vase with three dead flowers that I included in my Day of the Dead themed cemetery shoot.I highly recommend this cute flower boutique and will use their services again without hesitation. “The owner is amazing - she’s the plant whisperer!!! I came in with my sick orchid. The orchid came from my mom, who recently passed away, so I really want this little plant to survive, but I know nothing about orchids. The owner took it out of its pot, treated it with love, checked its health by looking at the roots, told me all about it, and fixed it up a little special dirt + bark mix made of 3 different things. My plant looks so happy now! Thanks, Sunnyside Plants - you’re the best!!!”

“Staff is very friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgeable as well. The only issue I have is the wood cutting. Had to return a few pieces of plywood and get them recut. Also, the cuts were not great as it looks like the blade they used is not in the best shape. I would definitely come here again but I don't think I'll be paying for wood cutting here in the future.”

“Mags, General Manager made a house call today on our two, sick citrus trees. I have had "Gertrude" and "Fred" since they were seeds (end of 2016) and just recently Gert (and Fred to a lesser extent) started to shed leaves every night.It was scary to walkout and see the curled up, brown tinged leaves laying there and the bare(ish) branches.Mags came in and examined them and the soil and asked and answered a lot of questions. They were professional, empathetic and knowledgeable. Mags had offered a zoom visit, but we feel that it was well worth the money to have them come out.Mags aerated the soil to loosen the snug dirt and trimmed a branch which was miserably plowed into the ceiling.We feel this is the beginning on the road to better health and plan on having them come back in spring to replant our Snake plant (which has gotten a bit unwieldy). Very happy with our visit!”

The place is really well organized and has so many varieties of plants, vegetables, and some fruits. I myself purchased a few different types of pepper plants and one called a blood plant. “TLDR; Outstanding experience! (Paint department). Massive shout out to the amazing worker who was able to help me with my home improvement project. I came to Home Depot not knowing how to paint, and left confident enough to finish the project in one night. The young gentleman working in the paint department on Jan 18th, 2024 ~8p was extremely knowledgeable and gave me amazing advice. My bathroom turned out beautiful!! Everyone I spoke to showed kindness and compassion, which is rare these days.. I now found a new love for Home Depot and am excited to shop at this specific store again (I even came back for more paint!!)”

“Update on review!!! The sill contacted me and replaced my entire order which I was really happy about which was the Sayuri and a Hoya plant. The replacement sansivera was 100% better. It looked very healthy and full, no brown or broken stems. Aesthetically pleasing and looks really nice in my living room. Very happy with the replacements.The packaging on arrival was a mess for the large plant, small one was good. I’ve ordered large plants from other companies which stayed really intact without dirt getting everywhere so I think they can do a little better on the packaging for the large plants but cleaning up a mess isn’t that big of a deal the most important thing the plant is in good shape which it was!Ordered a snake plant Sayuri from the website. It was suppose to be a large size and was on sale but originally listed as around $150. Order number 1175712 in case the sill tries to make this right. For the price I’m expecting a nice looking full plant. This plant arrived totally beat up, the planter pot it came in had busted dirt was everywhere but the main issue was how the plant itself looked terrible. Had I seen this plant in a plant store I wouldn’t have bought it for even $20. It had brown spots all over and some large ones at that. Broken leaves, I know they are suppose to fall but I know the difference in broken naturally falling leaves. It had clearly had more leaves that prolly looked terrible that someone has pruned because I can see where stems were cut. It’s super sparse it’s not full at all. It has a lot of brown dried edges with brown spots so I email the company about my disappointment and included pictures of how it arrived and after I attempted to plant it. I’m gonna give it a little time but honestly I will end up discarding it most likely because of how aesthetically displeasing it looks and I’ll just attempt to save a stem to propagate and begin a new plant which will take soooo long. I wanted a large full nice looking plant for my living room and this is far from it. Then the customer service person tried gaslighting me saying this is an extremely healthy plant and with some care it will thrive and that was basically it which was irritating. I shouldn’t have to put this much care into a supposed $150 plant. I have 30 different plants I know what a very healthy plant looks like and this isn’t it. I have 5 other all different sansiveras and while I’ve never had this type before I’ve been taking care of plants and many different types of plants for long enough to know what looks healthy and what’s not. I could get a better looking plant at ikea for 1/4 of the price ? …So if you want to spend a good amount of money to get this kind of quality of plant and then get gaslit by their customer service buy away. I’ll be taking my business to easyplant if I order a plant online again I know I wouldn’t run into these issues with them.”
