Previously tried another vet in Lincoln Park, but they were not compatible with our anxious german shepherd mix. Once we found BLVD, we were golden. Everyone on staff is so caring, gentle, and patient. They take the extra 5 minutes making sure your dog is comfortable and relaxed before starting the exam. This made all the difference with our anxious pup and we were finally able to have a successful vet visit, after multiple failed attempts over the years.
Can't thank them enough. They sincerely love animals and it's evident in the way they approach and treat each animal. Can't imagine ever going to another vet.”

I have been with this practice essentially from the beginning. I was a patient of Dr. Rovner’s back when he was still at Higgins, before Roscoe Village Animal Hospital even opened, so between him and RVAH, they have cared for my animals for close to 30 years. Dr. Rovner was absolutely incredible with every animal I brought to him, and they all adored him. When he retired, I will admit that I was nervous about the transition. After trusting someone with my animals for that many years, change is hard!
I could not be happier with the care we have continued to receive. Cristina, the new DVM, has been absolutely wonderful, and every other veterinarian and staff member I have interacted with has been fantastic as well. They are incredibly kind, patient, knowledgeable, and most importantly, they are SO good with my dog.
There was a period when I lived out of state and had to use other veterinary practices, and it made me appreciate RVAH even more. The level of care simply was not the same. In fact, having access to Roscoe Village Animal Hospital again was genuinely one of the reasons I moved back to Illinois.
My dog recently had surgery, and I will freely admit that I turn into a complete ball of nerves when something is wrong with one of my animals. I ask a million questions, I worry about everything, and I know I can be a little bit much! Everyone at RVAH has been unbelievably patient and kind with me through the entire process. They have answered my questions, reassured me when I needed it, kept me informed, and never once made me feel like I was bothering them even though i genuinely was being too much.
After nearly 30 years of trusting this practice with animals that mean the world to me, I think one of the biggest compliments I can give is that even through such a major transition, I still feel like my dog is in incredibly good hands.

“We have a dog with reactivity and severe anxiety. We had brought him to Duke for several years. Their prices are reasonable to Low for within the city. The staff is incredibly responsive, and their online pharmacy is very convenient. Most importantly they have always been open and willing to work with us with medication and other approaches to try to help our dog. All the vets we have worked with are amazing, but Angie Duke is one of a kind. Would recommend this business to anybody.”

“Had a great experience here! Brought my cat in for the first time - just a routine check up and some vaccinations before travel. He’s a nervous cat, and they were very gentle with him. All costs were discussed before treatment, and nothing was pushed on me. The vet was very thorough in his recommendations and made sure all my questions were answered before I left. I’m moving out of Chicago so it’s a shame I can’t come back - otherwise this would be my new vet clinic!”

“We first found Wicker Park Veterinary Clinic about 12 years ago, shortly after moving to Chicago, when our two dogs simply needed their regular check-ups. At the time, we lived only a couple of blocks away. Since then, we’ve moved farther north, but Wicker Park Vet has remained our veterinary practice for routine care, annual check-ups, and those occasional times when one of our dogs needs to be seen quickly.
Over the years, we sadly said goodbye to both of the dogs who first brought us to WPV, and the care and compassion we received during those difficult times meant a great deal to us. We have since welcomed new dogs into our family, and they have taken to Wicker Park Vet just as happily.
The entire staff has always been friendly, responsive, and helpful, and they have accommodated us more than once when we needed a quick appointment. Dr. Mowry remains a particular favorite of ours. She is patient, kind, thoughtful, and always takes the time to make both us and our dogs comfortable. Most importantly, our dogs genuinely seem to love her.
12 years, several dogs, and a move across the city later, we still choose Wicker Park Vet. That probably says more than anything else. We highly recommend Dr. Mowry and the entire team.”

“Our baby has two rare metabolic disorders that create acute instability. Having just moved to Chicago we chose MedVet for their national reputation and we were not disappointed at all. Dr Myer did an outstanding job of diagnosing and treatment planning and a willingness to work with our west coast vets. Of course she then developed symptoms of an ophthalmic issue and MedVet scheduled her with the ophthalmologist to see her during this visit. Great personality and great at explaining everything.
