“I've stayed at this Hotel a few times, and it's good value for the money. The beautiful fountain sets a serene tone when you walk in. All staff at the check in have been pleasant and helpful. The standard King room is my usual pick, as it is spacious and has semi-separated lounging and bed spaces. If desired, robes must be requested. Loved having the perfectly-sized mini fridge for my water bottles and fruit. They use older style corded telephones in the rooms which is nostalgic for me. I could rate 5 if some smaller things improve, but overall I like this hotel and will return.”

“A little bit of a drive from Chicago is a nice hideaway getaway for a relaxing day or night.

A private pool, hot tub, & steam room amplify the romantic date nights or just a quick break from the daily grind of society.

Clean room and facility/amenities. Temperature control is nice. Price is a bit up there for the more luxurious stays, but worth it if you don’t have the time to fly or drive to a different state or country”

“Lovely place for sure, cozy but fresh and new-feeling. Dinner: Bread was delish, Caesar salad was way too heavy with dressing, my Sole Meunière was excellent, a great balance with the veggies, and dessert, a wonderful pavlova, was yummy. Nice wine selection. Chairs in the middle (where we sat) are terribly uncomfortable, they should be replaced with the chairs used at the other tables. The bar looked very nice, albeit small. Service was very good. We will be back, but will sit in the porch which is so pretty. Less salad dressing and more comfy chairs will make everything perfect!”

“My family and I really enjoyed our stay overall here. The only reason I am leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of a breakfast crew employee who seemed to get on my case for wanting to fill my personal water bottle with the cold water in the breakfast area. It was during breakfast hours so the area was open. There was no line for the machine. If there was, I would've waited until there wasn't one, but she saw fit to remind me that there is a fountain just for water bottles next to the lobby restrooms. I told her I was aware, but it's not cold and I would very much like cold water. Unless there's some social rule (I'm autistic) that I'm unaware of, I don't know why this employee felt the need to talk to me about it. Every other part of our stay was amazing.”

“Staying at the Navy Lodge Great Lakes for our son’s PIR in March 2026 was the best decision we made for this milestone trip. Given the other local options, the price was incredibly affordable, and the recent updates to the facility were evident from the moment we walked in. From the initial reservation process to our arrival a few days before graduation, the entire experience was organized and welcoming.

Our room was spotless and thoughtfully equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, providing more than enough space for the two of us. It was especially nice to have that extra room when our son joined us during his liberty. While the in-room table was perfect for quick meals, we found the front lobby area to be a great alternative when we needed a little more space to spread out. The daily continental breakfast was another convenient perk that made our busy mornings much easier to manage.

The staff truly made our stay special, particularly Margaret at the front desk. Her warm, friendly attitude was a constant bright spot, and the entire team went out of their way to resolve any minor issues that arose. One of the biggest highlights was the hotel shuttle. Using it for the PIR ceremony made the day completely stress-free, and we were thrilled that our son was able to ride back to the Lodge with us free of charge.

The location is perfectly situated near the base, but it’s also close enough to explore the surrounding area. We even took a trip up to Simmons Island in Wisconsin, which was a fantastic way to enjoy some family time. If you are heading to Great Lakes for graduation, the Navy Lodge offers the perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality.”

“This hotel is very good and clean we have been there on summer and came back this winter because is very quiet and comfortable. The hotel has allot of stores restaurants and cafe around. The staff is very friendly, especially Maggie from the front desk she is very nice and kind .”

“Having lived here for a few years, I can truly say this team works tirelessly to make this property a clean, comfortable, and reliable place to stay. They are currently going through new renovations, and it is amazing to see how smoothly and efficiently they handle everything during the updates without letting guest comfort slip.
A special shout-out to Mark, the property manager, he is easily one of the most dedicated, active, and hardworking managers I’ve seen. He goes above and beyond to ensure guests are taken care of, smoothly handling room adjustments and keeping everything running seamlessly behind the scenes. His hands on approach makes a massive difference.
Huge praise as well for Alex in maintenance He is always smiling, incredibly friendly, and gets repairs done quickly and efficiently whenever anything comes up.

“I LOVE THIS PLACE! I am staying here now. How can I be so enthusiastic over a humble Home2? It's because I've stayed here several times over the years, and this hotel is CONSISTENTLY OUTSTANDING. The rooms are clean, the hotel is well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I really appreciate that Home2 hotels have coffee and tea in the lobby all day long. The lobby is a wam and inviting place to work on your laptop.

To note: a good amount of sailors and families stay here for Navy graduation, so there is more noise and activity in the hotel on graduation days, but no loud partying or anything excessive. It's heartwarming to see the new sailors and their families celebrating!”

“Location was in a safe area. The area was like an industrial parkway with businesses off road. A few miles out and there were restaurants. The room fit 8 family members: 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 4 children. Free breakfast was good, and we ate outside one of the two days. The free parking outfront was convenient. The 2nd. days towels requested and bedding for the couch were provided with out insident. Staff even carried them up for me. I ordered dinner delivered one night and next night went out. Two days and the only complaint would be the pool didn't smell good. The bathtub felt soft below my feet. I found a bug by the elevator. Otherwise stay was good.”

“Hotel is in a nice and in a safe area right outside the city. The suite we booked did smell a little humid upon arrival. The front desk guy was very nice and welcoming. I do wish the suites had an individual thermostat for each room instead of just one for the whole suite. Breakfast was great and there was ample parking.”

“We stayed here on our way from my Dad's in Northern Wisconsin. We're flying out of O'Hare, heading home to Texas, and wanted to stop along the way. I booked through Expedia on our drive. We had no issues with check-in. The staff was cordial. The room was clean. The hotel is conveniently located to just about anything you could want to eat, as well as plenty of shopping.”

“I am writing a review because of the experience we had with Janice, a representative who we interacted on the phone with to request help with an out of the ordinary circumstance at the Marriott Resort in Lincolnshire, Illinois. We had originally booked a stay to celebrate my daughter's 9th birthday, but she suffered a serious leg injury that left us uncertain about whether we'd be able to make the trip.

Every time I called with another question about our stay, she greeted me with kindness, patience, and a genuine concern. She is exactly the kind of person you hope is running the front desk and in charge of training others. It's been a rough week for our family but her kindness just really stood out in a dark moment for us.

“We went to the Westin for a conference and enjoyed our stay there. The hotel has everything including restaurant and bar, clean and well-maintained gym and pool, and clean and large rooms. It is a good place to hold an event. 10/10. I would recommend to anyone in the area.”

“Excellent! Been staying here since January of this year. I have 2 cancers both stage 4 and on going treatment maybe for another 2 months. This place is closer to where my treatment is The Kellogg Cancer Center in Evanston, Illinois. Mandy, the manager, and Ana her assistant has been doing an excellent job taking good care of me. And so with front desk ladies, Shave, Dolor, Ryan, Amari, Juan, and all the housekeeping team. Way above and beyond all of them exceeds customer expectations. God bless them all! With having chemo every 21 days, they have been sending my mail, my daily needs, at times when I’m tired from the side effects of the chemo. So blessed with their assistance. More power to them and to ESA. I will miss this place for sure. I have an upcoming major surgery this coming Monday, June 15…and planning to stay here after since the recovery period will be at least for 6 weeks. So grateful and thankful to Mandy and Ana for giving me discounted rates and it helps me a lot. Thank you for this opportunity to share my views and survey about ESA and the whole team support. “Good hotel and good breakfast but interesting stains on the carpet (Did not see till morning due to time I got in). Good location and has some shuttle transport including graduation. I stayed during the Navy base graduation but the hotel was still quiet at night. Easy to navigate to local places to eat.”

“Room was very nice and clean with the courtyard view on a high floor .Front desk persons Mariyam and Ariya are very nice with lot of patience in explaining the hotel amenities and very helpful in providing the guest services throughout the stay. Overall our stay was excellent and highly recommended..”

“Staff was great, room was perfect for my needs and the rate was reasonable. My only issue, which I forgot to mention at the desk at checkout, was there were a few ants in the room on night one. It was maybe half a dozen on the floor, but I cleaned them up and never saw any again. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. Great water pressure in my room and no issues with temp like others have mentioned.
Altogether, a good experience for my first trip to the Chicago area.”

“The staff are polite, professional, and respectful. The hotel room overall was large and clean. Only found 1 piece of hair in the bathroom floor but the room is very clean. The breakfast was not bad and better than most hotels I have been. The bed was great, but I didn't like the pillow. The pillow wasn't firm enough for me. I felt safe. This location is awesome. Many great stores and restaurants near by which was very convenient.”
