“Honestly, please ignore all those one star reviews! Screw them! Especially the ones regarding the bathroom it’s just blasphemy. Ultimate Treasures is not only an amazing antique & thrift store filled with ANYTHING you could ask for from couches to art to movies to books to clothes to even good condition used toiletries & cooking products even TJ’s brand olive oil well hell you name it… BUT it is an incredible first date idea (like guys- write this down)! You can go exploring down every aisle & always find something incredible & worthwhile! This store has so much to offer though seriously. So I mean ‘tis the season to bring your Valentine here & go find a relic that will last an era of romance & adoration! Ps if someone could please give the leather jacket that is so sick and says “Babe Squad” on the back a great home & then please post a review with a photo of you flaunting it I’d absolutely love that (I don’t have the confidence)! Anyways, just please please please if you don’t do anything else in Downers Grove, at least make a stop to Ultimate Treasures! It’s a life changing destination to add to your list. And maybe you’ll fall in love… who knows!”
“Absolutely love this place. During my last visit, I found a winter coat for $4.00. I have gotten so many compliments from coworkers asking me where I got it from. Very reasonable prices compared to other resale shops.”
“Really great thrift store with excellent prices. Kathy the owner was very friendly and explained to us how she likes to rotate the merchandise that she has in her shop. My daughter and her 30-year-old friends love to go thrifting so they can recycle gently used items instead of buying new items. The store had so many great items including a fantastic selection of new as well as vintage lamps, glassware, home decor, jewelry, furniture, shelving units and much much more. We will definitely be back to visit with Kathy and her cute dog Buddy.”
“I really never do this but these folks are truly awesome! I was treated with such amazing kindness & respect by the wonderful staff! I live in the city so they hooked me up with a great moving crew to get my treasures home. The prices are amazing! No tariff wars here bringing prices up! If you’re looking for fantastic antique furniture or just a standard couch & coffee table… they have it. Very clean, clearly well inspected, no crappy stuff here. Cheers to you all! I will be back ?”
“If you’re into thrifting give New2You a try. I’ve found some great pieces and antique furniture in here for a really unbeatable price. The only downside is the close kind of early at 3:30 but if you get in during the early opening hours you’re sure to find some goodies.”
“My favorite thrift store to visit and donate to. The gentleman at the front desk is always kind and loves to have conversations with the customers. The deals are amazing. You can tell this place enjoys giving back to the community.”
“The store manager was helpful and kind. She shared different content creators online to get inspiration from. I will definitely be returning with my mom to show her the place as well.”
“We love this store! I have bought everything from outdoor furniture to paintings and it’s always so clean, organized and inviting.
The staff is always kind and helpful.”
“This resale shop, conveniently located within the Good Sam hospital at Highland Ave, is an exceptional place to shop. It offers an impressive variety of items—almost everything one could think of—at remarkably reasonable prices. The staff’s conduct is professional, courteous, and welcoming, and the overall layout is clean, organized, and thoughtfully designed. A well-run shop that truly stands out for its quality, affordability, and presentation.”
“I found this place about five months ago, And I’m glad I did. The staff is very friendly. The merchandise is beautiful. The store is very clean and neat. It looks like a little boutique with very affordable prices. That’s my to go place. Thank you for supporting woman and families in need.”
“Thank goodness for AzteK Tire Shop. This is the only place that has our awkward tire size. Everyone is really friendly and very helpful. Tire was off the rim, put new tire on and mounted in less than 10 minutes. So if you have an awkward size tire look no further than the AzteK Tire shop in Wood Dale Illinois, they got you covered..
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“Happened upon while driving on Roosevelt.....Love the interesting finds and the fact they support a Cat Rescue!! They also have some Incense and Sage sticks along with some cool vintage threads! One of my finds were these 3 tiny Deer figurines! Purrrfect for my Fairy terrarium!!!”
“Some great finds with amazing prices! I also appreciate knowing that it's going to a good cause. The workers are volunteers and we're very friendly and helpful. I'll definitely go back to both donate and purchase items.”
“Nice and genuine people.Everyone is very helpful and kind. I go there on every Monday and Wednesday. It's really fun and new learnings. Hats off to their work”
“I had time to kill between testing at Lutheran General so I stopped in to roam the aisles and I’m so glad I did!
The store is extremely organized. The shelves are neatly stacked with countless treasures, separated by holiday, frames, kitchen items, serving dishes, mugs, decor etc. Everything was easily visible without having to lift or move things.
I did not shop for clothes but was impressed by the endless racks of items. Everything neatly hung separated by size and color. A coat did catch my eye which was vintage cashmere Mark Shale for $6.99. I snatched that right up. It’s gorgeous.
Next trip I will be spending more time going thru the clothing. The shoes are separated by color and there were many that caught my eye but I was running out of time.
The staff was incredibly friendly (well, the young man that checked me out was really the only person I interacted with) but he was great.
Looking forward to stopping by again.”
“A Hidden Gem in Downers Grove!
I absolutely love this Goodwill location—the design and layout make it feel like I’m shopping at Nordstrom! The atmosphere is clean, modern, and surprisingly upscale for a thrift store. The product selection is phenomenal, with everything from fashion and home goods to unique finds you won’t see anywhere else.
Prices are unbeatable, and the quality of items is consistently impressive. On top of that, the staff is friendly and helpful, which makes the shopping experience even better. Whether you're hunting for a designer piece or just browsing for fun, this store delivers.
Highly recommend checking it out—you might walk in looking for one thing and leave with a cart full of treasures!”
“Ms. Nicole Wingate is spectacular at her job. She made me aware of jobs I had experience for that I never even considered when I was searching. Nicole is a people person. She has a great way of tailoring a person's work background to fit potential job leads. I have to compliment her on helping me write a great resume which is going to improve my chances of landing a new job successfully. Awesome recruiting. I can't praise her enough. Thx!”
“We bought a table here. They disassembled it for me so that it could get into the car. The staff is very friendly, they told me everything and answered all my questions (taking into account that I am not very fluent in English). I liked the furniture, but it is constantly changing there.”
“Great store but the customers need to realize they are customers and not bosses and save the bossing for your loved ones because people outside of your home don't have to put up with you”

“This is my daily drivin store of all time along with the goodwill rolling meadows location
I got great deals on literally Electronics and Video games
Update: even if the store closed for public I can still buy PC and mobile games digitally
Update 2: 10 years later I'm so cherished that this location is still going strong and well due to strong donations support and great atmosphere”
“I walked into Goodwill today expecting the usual: a quiet stroll through the aisles, maybe finding a decent mug or a hoodie with a questionable graphic. What I did not expect was to encounter a living legend. A man whose customer service skills transcend mortal understanding. A man named TONY.
From the moment I stepped inside, the energy shifted. The fluorescent lights seemed to glow brighter. The air felt lighter. I swear I heard a faint choir in the distance. Then I realized why because Tony was on the clock.
This man didn’t greet me.
He welcomed me like I had just returned from a long voyage at sea.
His “Hello, how are you?” wasn’t just a greeting; it was a spiritual recalibration. My stress? Gone. My posture? Improved. My faith in humanity? Restored immediately.
As I browsed, Tony didn’t just help me find what I needed he anticipated my desires before I even formed them. I reached toward a shelf, and somehow, Tony was already there, gently placing the exact sweater I didn’t know I needed into my hands with the grace of an angel delivering a prophecy.
When I asked where the electronics were, Tony didn’t point.
No, no, no.
He escorted me like I was royalty, giving a guided tour with historical context, pricing insight, AND styling suggestions for items that weren’t even clothing.
At one point, I dropped something. Before it even hit the ground, Tony appeared teleported, possibly catching it mid-air like a professional athlete in the championship game of life.
And then… the checkout.
Oh, the checkout.
Tony rang up my items with the precision of a NASA engineer and the warmth of a lifelong friend. The speed? Lightning. The accuracy? Unmatched. The gratitude he showed for my purchase made me want to go shop again immediately, just for the privilege of interacting with him one more time.
Goodwill, if you’re reading this:
Give Tony a raise. Give Tony a crown. Give Tony a museum dedicated to his service.
This man is the backbone, heartbeat, and soul of the entire establishment.
If Tony is not employee of the month every month, the system is rigged.
In summary:
I came for thrifted clothes.
I left with a renewed purpose in life, a favorite employee, and a story I will tell my grandchildren.
Tony is HIM.”
“I had a great experience!! It's is a small, cozy organized space with winter clothing right now. Go stop by...you never know if that perfect sweater or nice coat is waiting for you...”
“I love this place very nice.Employees very helpful.I love coming here, every Friday with my mom loves the employees they're always kind to her, like Joe Louie. And the manager kristen thank you guys for your kindness. And being nice to my mom, God bless. We love coming here to shop and donating money at the same time.”
“LOTS of stuff. You can find some decent antique furniture among other things. The place is really big and it has some older retail equipment etc. Worth a look. Parking was fine too.”
“Went to this Goodwill store first time on Friday with my daughter and we loved it. Employees were friendly could be a little more proactive (training 101) but my sales rep was awesome and she offered me a rewards card to use for future items. It was nice to see that 'Everything had a place, and a Place for everything' nothing on the floors. However, I do suggest they keep a close eye on some of the clothing on the racks that have threadingloose some were torn seems like from hangers or mishandled from customers and those items should be removed. It is good to see that you show the quality and care for what you display and sale in your store because, it's the first and last impression of the day that can make an impact on your customers. I visit this store again.”
“I enjoy this GW! Everyone is always friendly in my experience! Cathy is my fav! My only negative is why they started to put the stickers on the bottom of items often covering up the brand name. Especially for vintage/antiques. That’s how you end up with half peeled off prices…we need to see the brand name.
Prices could be a little cheaper, but better than others I’ve frequented!”

“Very organized and clean. Employees were helping customers around me with a pleasant attitude. Careful attention to safety and ease of shopping was given to most racks, displays, shelving, etc. around the store. Clutter and debris was being cleaned up and moved constantly. The Fitting rooms were clean, but only two were open whereas the other 4-5+ were closed off. Great shopping experience overall.”
“Always find some good items. Whether it be a set of speakers, a lamp, or even a good book. Support your local goodwill and round up when checking out because we need to support the men and women who sort and organize our 2nd hand finds that are worth more than what they are sold for in some cases.”
