“Super cool spot. Upon arriving, I had no clue where the entrance was. It was only when people came out of the building that I realized that was the entrance. Once inside, I was left in awe of the magnitude of the place. A huge old warehouse transformed into a book “store”? Absolutely amazing. REMEMBER, you put the price in the books, not the other way around. When I was here, the cashier tried to give me a price when it shouldn't be like that. Don't feel intimidated and pay whatever you think is fair. There’s also a Spanish section right by the entrance.”

“Powell's Bookstore in Chicago is an interesting and intriguing bookstore to enter and browse its vertical book shelves and its tabletop offerings. The store has a wide variety of book topics, from the academically serious to science fiction, children's stories, comic anthologies, literature and poetry, and more. The titles are thoughtfully selected for eager readers, and the prices for the used books are pretty reasonable. The store also has some antiquarian collections which are quite interesting. I highly recommend this long-time, independent bookstore.”

“Very enjoyable little book store. Awesome selection for the size. Large leftist and progressive collection of books and textbooks about a broad spectrum of subjects. There is also one of the best cookbook collections I’ve seen at an Indie store. Only two shelves of romance novels but does cover the must reads of tik tok. Found this a very enjoyable little spot and defo a great neighborhood book.”

“Yesterday, I went to visit the owner Yoel about having my book in his store. I received MUCH more than what I had anticipated. If you are willing to LISTEN you will learn a lot from him and the literary world. There's not many people who will take the time to educate a complete stranger. That is what I would call a TRUE Teacher. Looking forward to working with Yoel!”

“A large variety of current and past books by old and new authors. Also CDs and small gifts and keepsake items for giving excellent customer service. Along with the delicious sit down and relax area and even further in the back there is an area to read on beautiful leather sofas. Well done, and thoughtfully designed .”

“Seemed like a really solid neighborhood comic shop.Owner knew his stuff and knew half the people coming through the door by name. Had 3 separate hiccups in my purchase, but felt like a bad coincidence. Not my neighborhood, but bet it'd be cool to be a regular here.”

“I love this place. The staff are great, the products available are amazing, and I love playing in the Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments too. I used to play competitive Yu-Gi-Oh at this location, building my Yu-Gi-Oh collection back up, and can't wait to come back, meet new people, form more connections, see old friends, and more! 10 out of 10 from me, dadgumit!!”

“I'm a proud alum of MVCC, and I couldn't say enough about how great this college is, or great of an education you will receive if you choose to attend.”

“I didn't try the café, and the bookstore looks like most college bookstores I've been to. If you're not looking for UChicago merch, it may not make sense to come here to buy clothes. I didn't find items celebrating Chicago as a city, and I think those would be nice. Their bookstore, though, for general books does have nice titles. Also, they sell EPs, which I thought it was very cool.”

“Ignore "On Tour with Nate". This is "ink by Hudson" and his review pertains to "Hudson Nonstop". The book prices are standard and good, especially for paperbacks being under $10. I gave them 4/5 stars because all of their stationary is extremely overpriced. $20 for a journal, and $7.50 for three pens. I just needed a cheap pen to write with.”
