They both also gave us space, to think about the mattress we added to the deal. Whether to stay with the original deal or new deal. This space and no pressure, and not following us around made it more relaxed. We went with our bedroom set and new mattress. We are content with what we got.”

“Walking into Walter E. Smithe in Geneva, I was simply hoping to find furniture for my living room and kitchen. What I found instead was an experience that completely transformed my home.
From the moment Gary Louis greeted me, there was no pressure — just a calm, welcoming presence and a genuine desire to help. Our connection felt immediate, and I instinctively knew Gary was going to help me create the home I had only dreamed about.
Gary thoughtfully guided me through sofa options, and somehow he quickly understood exactly what I was looking for. He even brought fabric samples to my home so I could see everything in my actual space and choose the perfect one. We talked through my vision, my budget, colors, scale, placement — everything from the kitchen table and sofa to a sofa table, side chair, sideboard for my 65” TV, and eventually bar stools.
A few days later, I returned to the store and was amazed to see that Gary had created a digital room design showing a complete layout of the pieces we discussed. As we talked, he adjusted sizes and placement in real time until everything felt exactly right.
What truly impressed me was Gary’s incredible eye for design. Based on the sofa fabric I selected, he pulled pillow fabrics I never would have considered on my own — and they were absolutely stunning. He had thoughtfully prepared options for tables, chairs, stain colors, fabrics, and accent pieces, making the entire process feel seamless and inspired.
Within just a couple of hours, Gary helped me create two rooms more beautiful than I could have imagined on my own.
And when the furniture was delivered, Gary was there to bring everything together. Seeing it all in place was breathtaking. My home now feels warm, beautiful, peaceful, and inviting in a way I never thought possible.
