“Review of Great Wolf Lodge

We recently spent a weekend at Great Wolf Lodge with our family of five (kids aged 9, 6, and 2), and overall, it was a fantastic experience!

Pros:
• Water Park Fun: Our kids absolutely loved the large lazy river, the kid-friendly slides on Fort Mackenzie, and the wave pool. Although we didn’t try the bigger slides, they looked exciting, and the lines were surprisingly short.
• Perfect Timing: The water park did get busy in the afternoons, which is to be expected on a Saturday, but it was much quieter and more enjoyable when it first opened in the morning.
• Kid-Friendly Features: The fenced-in kiddie area was a great touch, offering peace of mind for parents. The warm water and comfortable air temperature made the experience even better. Plus, the lazy river and kiddie pool had handicap-accessible features like railings.
• Other Activities: The high ropes course and climbing wall were a fun change of pace from the water park.
• Clean and Renovated: The hotel was clean, modern, and felt more open compared to other Great Wolf Lodge locations we’ve visited.

Cons:
• The kiddie splash pad water was freezing, making it less enjoyable for our little one. And there wasn’t a ‘hot tub’ pool or adult hot tub to warm up in.
• The room lighting was very dim; more overhead lights would have made a big difference.
• The bathroom lacked a fan, leading to a humid environment after showers.
• The arcade was fun but overpriced.

Overall, Great Wolf Lodge provided a wonderful family getaway with plenty of activities to keep our kids entertained. While there were a few downsides, the positives far outweighed them. We’d happily return for another visit!”

“Checkin and checkout was speedy. Sonia was at the front desk at both times and always smiling. She was always helpful. The hotel was clean and breakfast was great and stocked. Love the waffles.

Nearby activities: By the malls and Sux Flags. We were here for a funeral and stay every time when staying near family.

“Don't stay here unless... you want to be close to shopping, whether it's for something in the mall or a nearby chain store. If your hungry, don't drive far. Breakfast is served daily. Most restaurants are nearby within minutes for lunch and dinner. If you plan to go to a graduation for the naval academy/ out for fun at a theme park which is near by. Staff throughout the hotel was helpful. Came late due to a delayed flight but had someone there to let us check in. Gave us a good idea for places to go whether it be food or entertainment. Had fun at the indoor pool which was open until 10pm. I was able to attend my function at the navy base for graduation. Although families were present, I couldn't tell from my room. It was peaceful. Overall this is the place I'm booking if I ever have to return to Gurnee, Illinois.Rooms: Clean, spacious, comfortable with easy to control ambient.Nearby activities: Indoor pool. Six flags great america is the nearest theme park. Along with great wolf lodge.Walkability: Mall is just across the parking lot. Enough said.Food & drinks: Breakfast served daily. More than 5 places to choose lunch or dinner from all within minutes from location”

“If you are looking for an extended stay hotel, Extended Stay America - Gurnee, should be at the top of your list. The rooms are clean, and spacious with every amenity to make you feel at home. But, what really makes this hotel special, is the staff and management. Brian always got me the best deals, whether it was the daily, weekly or monthly rate. Lavarius and Lupe are always there to help, and provide you this anything you might need to make your stay more at home.Marcos”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Super Stay at Hotel Gurnee!
The rooms were spotless and comfortable — clearly well-maintained. The desk manager was exceptionally friendly and welcoming from check-in to check-out. Stephanie at the bar deserves special mention — super friendly, professional, and makes fantastic drinks! The owner is often on the premises, personally making sure guests are happy, which adds a rare, hands-on touch. The whole place has a genuinely warm and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Gurnee!”

“We stayed at Hampton Inn gurnee for 9nights....the staff always said good morning,good night, asked if we needed anything daily, and helped us out with our couch/sofa bed which you could feel the springs....gave us extra blankets to make it more comfortable, and checked on us few times to see how blankets were working out..a complimentary breakfast every day. Jocelyn at front desk was very helpful the entire time we were there, and Ms Washington, who we saw during the evening times was such a delight. The hotel is old, but your staff would keep me coming back...thank you againRooms: Rooms were comfortable but the couch pull out beds need replacing”

“Although there were some minor imperfections in our room, our stay here was good. The staff were nice especially Nick! He was very courteous and whenever he seen us he asked was there anything that we needed. He was very kind and attentive to everyone. “Had a great time! Stayed the night in the King room with the jetted tub! It was nice clean and relaxing! The only thing that would of made my stay better would of been if the pool was open!”
