The associate at this location was extremely patient and willing to work with me through every step even if it took four hours. They were able to provide me a phone and service for less than a month's bill with my previous provider. And they wore nothing but a smile. Very cute too”

“So I was returning a ps5 controller bc it had some defects ( o button was sticking) so I went to this location to do that. They had to order one bc none were in stock. I got the new controller in the mail and it was damaged. I went to the store showed them and the store manager David came out to look at what could be done. David tried to rub off the damage thinking it was something that would rub off. Unfortunately it made the problem worse and on top of that the controller was not in stock at any bestbuy or online. So I had to get a similar one but not the exact same. I was very upset and David handled it very well and was very understanding. Come a month later I saw they had it online. So I went in and it was a hassle free experience.”

“After having a HORRIBLE experience at the Palatine IL store I had called the Crystal Lake IL store and spoke with a kind gentleman named Nick. I had discussed with him what my issue was and without hesitation he told me that he could help. I did drive an hour to get to the store but it was definitely worth it. “I’m gonna try to sum up the value of this place. I’m an early 80s kid who spent my youth at Roxy wheels roller skating rink and the RC car hobby shop in the same plaza. Century Electronics was located in the same plaza. My friends and I would go in the store and look at all the hifi stereo equipment. This was probably nearing the end of the HIFI stereo era which produced the best iconic stereo equipment of all time. Needless to say we were tolerated even tho we couldn’t afford anything in the store.Fast forward 30 years. My collection of stereo equipment was all manufactured before I was born by a good decade. It’s the type of equipment that you get fixed and will never ever see the bottom up a dumpster. The number of individuals still alive with the skill to service these units and restore them to their glory is dwindling every year that goes by. Century Electronics has not 1, but 2 old school techs that can fix anything from Marantz receivers, McIntosh tube amplifiers to speakers all made before the Vietnam war. They take pride in their work and preserve quality by refusing to use cheap Chinese capacitors and other inferior parts. This is the only place I will take my equipment. Don’t expect to walk in for the ABT style showroom with 100k of product. The back room repair shop is where it’s at here.”
